The Premiership was so close for Leeds United, and all they had to do was win one final match against Watford. At half time Watford lead 1-0, and then scored a second with the luckiest goal of the season. The original shot was deflected twice before hitting the post, and then bouncing off Sullivan into the net. This goal destroyed the Leeds players' morale, and when they conceded a late penalty the Premiership dream was in tatters. Leeds now face one more season at least before they can return to where they belong.
