All factions seemed hard to like in my option. All of them screw people over to get what they want, and I never felt my decisions could change anything meaningful, other than who died. Still enjoyed it, though. The atmosphere is enough for me. Don't need any overarching story.

In my opinion, expectations are so high that it could never be what people want it to be. People always prefer earlier works, too.

It could have ended at several points. If the events had unfolded over several episodes, no one would have been complaining.
