So this is sort of random since I'm asking about PS2 games, but I figured many fellow PS3 owners would have good input on PS2 games. I'm visiting my dad in New York and have to leave my beloved PS3, Wii, and semi-unloved 360 behind. He still has a PS2 I had there. Now, he has to a ton of business and stuff so I want a PS2 game to keep me occupied. What do you recommend? I'm feeling either Ico or Shadow of the Colossus, leaning towards SotC but if there are any other great PS2/PS1 games feel free to suggest. Keep in mind I've played quite a few, so please don't mention God of War. Then, SotC or Ico? And to make this relevant to PS3 discussion, quick question. Battlefield Bad Company 2 or Killzone 2? I want to get one or the other but I'm not sure which to get.

Eh only fanboys deny this. Reading SW I've been bugged by people trying to argue that the 360 is capable of graphics like Uncharted 2 or God of War III. It simply isn't. It has a better GPU, sure, but CPU (which the PS3 wins in) and GPU aren't the only things involved when figuring out how powerful something is. It's pretty much a fact, if devs used both the PS3 and 360 to their FULL potential, the PS3 game would look better. EDIT: Phew screwed this post up, luckily no one took notice. To elaborate, I'm guessing with enough effort, money, and multiple discs, a game that looks like Uncharted 2 could be made on the 360. However I think the PS3 can do even better, as I think it does with God of War III, and can go further than the 360. Doubt we'll ever see either used to their complete potential though.

Well I'm inclined to say Demon's Souls. Not only is it possibly my favorite game ever, it takes a long time to play through and with unlimited New Game +s and an absurdly high level cap that will probably be made even higher at some point in time through an update, I can't see myself getting too bored with it. And if all else fails I could invade peoples' games which is very fun and unique. So let's go with that. Honorable mentions go to Team Fortress 2, which I only wouldn't pick because I can't play it for as long as Demon's Souls and I prefer single player, and World of Warcraft, which I don't play but has pretty much unlimited replay value, so if I didn't like it as much as Demon's Souls it wouldn't be a big deal because I could play it for years and still get new content.... I would give up my dignity and give into the monster that is WoW. Then the last honorable mention goes to Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. It's the LoZ with the most additional content and Legend of Zelda is simply the best series ever. Even if I like Demon's Souls as much, no Legend of Zelda would leave a void in my life.

One of the worst list I've ever read.kurama2002
Way to attack an opinion. Especially considering I think they're joking. This is also the person who gave Big Rigs a 10 and wrote a long, sarcastic review.... Though I want to say BLOG IT, I suppose I'll chip in since I like such things and it's probably a joke... Not in perfect order or anything... 1. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 2. Demon's Souls 3. Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker 4. Chrono Trigger 5. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves 6. Okami 7. Super Mario Galaxy 8. Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (ya, got AAE here, too bad it averaged a 95....) 9. Metal Gear Solid 4 10. Portal Honestly ask me this in a week and it'll probably change, but let's go with this for now. Portal is mainly on there for GLADOS, especially the very end.... the rest of the game was a bunch of brilliant puzzles with easily the best difficulty curve I've ever seen (I went from barely being able to navigate portals to being able to do absurd techniques I never would've thought of at the beginning and there wasn't once a part where I felt overwhelmed trying to step it up), but GLADOS' humor makes it one of the best games ever,
There was even going to be a party for you. A big party, that all of your friends were invited to. I invited your best friend, 'the Companion Cube'. Of course, he couldn't come, because you murdered him. All your other friends couldn't come either, because you don't have any other friends because of how unlikable you are. It says so right here in your personnel file; 'Unlikable. Liked by no one. A bitter unlikable loner whose passing shall not be mourned.' SHALL NOT BE MOURNED. That's exactly what it says. Very formal. Very official. It also says you were adopted. So that's funny too

Nintendo have always been known for making reliable systems, and even if the Wii breaks down, Nintendo's warranty service rivals that of Apple.hiphops_savior
I don't know... I've snapped my computer in half twice and the repair cost was $800 the first time, and they waved it, so free. Second time they didn't even put a price, just did it for free and I'm pretty sure it's well out of warranty..... If I take a hammer to my Wii and Nintendo repairs it for free, I get it back, do it again, then they repair it for free again, then they'll be as nice to me as Apple :P.
If you hit it with a hammer at point blank range with all your might, it's going to break the disc drive. Which is a downgrade from the Gamecube. But yeah, the Wii is durable enough for all your needs. You throw the Wiimote to the wall, and the wall breaks.

Hahahahahaha I enjoy this comment :D.

Cool story bro. Many people would disagree. I wouldn't, but this brings nothing to the conversation. Care to elaborate?

Mario, Zelda, and Final Fantasy have all matched it at one point or another. I guess Wii Sports too as a part of the Wii hype as a whole. Then also Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Yeah it's been matched and I think you can more than fill a hand, but it's true it has insanely high hype every time.

Best game this gen, (Mass Effect 2) can't be played on a Ps3, /thread.

Also, Xbox has more A AA and AAA, try harder.

Shoaka
I sense an opinion. Let's not forget how many games scored better here on Gamespot, and how Uncharted 2 is rated as high as ME2, while Super Mario Galaxy is one point higher on Metacritic. Then GTAIV (overrated to me, but whatever) has a 98 and scored a 10 here. Oh yeah Metal Gear Solid 4 got a 10 here and has a 94 at Metacritic. Opinions don't /threads.

ah, but you forget, a gaming rig is bundled with every PS3 sold ;)

I don't have a gaming rig, but my computer is powerful enough to play most multiplats at the same level my 360 can. You don't need a gaming rig for most games, contrary to popular belief. Mass Effect is not a technically demanding series, despite some thinking it's graphics king somehow, so I can run it on my computer.
