I recently got all of Muse's albums and i gotta say they are on the best bands I've ever heard. Plug In Baby and Starlight are phenomanal and i cant stop listening to them! lol

What about you guys?

xXCombatWombat

You're my new best friend. But please start listening to their Absolution album, its their best one.

I've listened to a few of the songs so far on Absolution so far and really like it. That and Origin of Symmetry are my favorites so far. I dont have their live album yet, HAARP, but i heard its really good, should i get it?

Origin of Symmetry is by far my favourite album, closely followed by Absolution. I would definitely recommend HAARP but not over Hullabaloo and Absolution DVD, the Hullabaloo DVD is Muse at their insane best!

On a related note, I'm seeing Muse on Sunday at Reading Festival where they will be performing Origin of Symmetry in full! Good times.

1. Muse

2, 3, 4, 5. I can't decide

vaultboy_ninja

Aye, that was my view once, but I am slowly losing interest. If they continue heading in the cheesy pop direction, that's it for me. We need Matt to break out the magic mushrooms and create another masterpiece la Origin of Symmetry.

My favourite band. I have no idea how you can claim that their first 3 albums are their worst. Origin of Symmetry is absolute genius, followed by a near perfect Absolution. Although I like their most recent stuff, I really hope they pull out some more riffs and insane piano tracks (a la Space Dementia) on the next album, lose the RnB influences Matt.

Saying that, I have seen them 7 times and they never cease to amaze me at a live gig, their latest Wembley shows were insane!

My beloved Muse! Hit their peak with Absolution (even though Origin of Symmetry is their finest to date) but have gone downhill since Black Holes and Revelations. I do enjoy their latest work (The Resistance included) but it's a huge step down. Needs less cheesy lyrics and more insane riffs!

Ninja-Hippo

So true. Origin and Absolution are both amazing albums. Black Holes is dull and the Resistance is cheesy and mainstream. They're trying too hard to get mass appeal i think.

I know what you mean. Neutron Star Collision, what the hell is that?? Compare it to Space Dementia and its absolute rubbish. I know Muse tend to change their sound with new material and I respect that, but they are primarily a rock band with classical elements, who used to spout out insane lyrics (a la plug in baby, micro cuts and basically all of origin) but I fear they are losing sight of that and are trying to appeal to the mainstream with cheesy stadium rock and in your face lyrics.

I am hoping the next album will be a return to form forthem though.

[QUOTE="king_for_a_day"]C'mon, seriously? Muse is winning? That's when you know people don't listen to music. Radiohead are much more innovative than Muse, they're more varied, and they can write more than just pop songs. OK Computer, Kid A and The Bends are all considered classics by almost everybody. Muse is for NME people. NME people are the kids who listen to mainstream radio, but think they're cool, thinking it's not mainstream because it doesn't have teen pop. Even worse than a hipster is a wannabe hipster.HiResDes

I don't understand how Muse is winning either and am flabbergasted...OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, and In Rainbows destroy anything Muse has done collectively.

In terms of critical acclaim, I'll agree with OK Computer. But I think Origin of Symmetry is dam good competition for the others.

[QUOTE="Neon-Tiger"]LOL at the Muse haters saying they are Radiohead copycats. Similar yes, but those similarities have long disappeared after Showbiz.Jandurin

Exactly, but a small amount of Radiohead fans will never understand this.

You can't just magically get away from your original influences, btw. They'll always be there, even if they endeavor to purposefully erase the sound.

But it's fine if a band is influenced by other bands, Radiohead must have their own influences, but saying Muse "copied" Radiohead is completely false

Muse obviously. I'm not really a fan of Radiohead but I respect them as a band. I just love Muse's over the top performances and apocalyptic sound.
