The year was 1995, the Senate had just expressed their support for the Dalai Llama, Windows 95 had been available for purchase for about 2mths, and games ran on DOS. A company named "Legend Entertainment" had been given a contract to develop a series of Terry Brooks' books into a game, and the game of which I think you speak had been born. Behold! Your game is "Shannara".

As it is now 14yrs on - and some 5 years since the company closed down - it's no surprise that the game is now available for free download. You can find it on most of those websites that archive old DOS games.

If "Shannara" is not the game of which you speak, then frankly I have no idea.

THAT'S IT!!! Thank you so much! I just looked it up and the screen caps brought all the memories back lol. I'm definately going to dl it now and play through it again. I can't thank you enough! I'm guessing you played it before?

This game sounds exactly like one I'm trying to remember also! I have my own thread about it too, maybe my description will help you out : http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26909921&tag=topics;title. I really want to remember it as well so hopefully someone can remember from both our descriptions.

No, not that either. I remember it being first person. I can kind of remember a puzzle where there was some kind of special jewel or something on a chimney and you had to get a bird to retrieve it for you or something like that...if that helps any XD

Thanks for the help though.

No it wasn't that, the game I'm thinking of was also first person (forgot to mention that). Thanks for the reply though.

I'm trying to remember an old pc game from the late 90's maybe early 2000. It was a puzzle solving rpg and it took place in a medieval timeframe with magic and health (I know that's practically all of them) and you were trying to help the king or something like that. All I can remember about the game are these things: -There was a puzzle where you had to gather certain things in a wine cellar to conjure up a ghost that told you how he was killed and what to do for the next puzzle. -You get into the throne room of the king and there is a curtain hiding a little alcove next to the throne. When you go inside there is a mirror and candles. You have the option to do something (can't remember what) and when you do the face of some black magician appears in the mirror and starts chanting which starts to kill you. All of a sudden you hear voices of your friends that tell you how to break the spell that he is weaving. -There's some temple/building you need to get into that is protected by a magic barrier and when you finally learn the spell to break it, it makes you very weak and you have to wait to recover or something like that. If anyone recognizes it could you please help because I'd love to play it. Thanks!
