I think Deus Ex would be the most welcome return in my opinion, however Invisible War cast a disapointing shadow over the original. If it is possible to return the game to a more free form experience and re-establish that feeling of discovery as you work your way through the plot it would be superb. Until then I think it is up to Bioshock to create anything close to what Deus Ex was back in its day.

As far as a past track record is concerned we know Halo 3 will outsell the other titles. However as far as pushing boundries and advancing the quality of aFPS experience is concerned Bioshock and Crysis look set to really steer the industry into a new direction. The problem with sequels is that the standard has already been set from the first game and people will always compare to their experiences earlier in the series, whilst the new titles have a chance to start fresh and really innovate and invigorate a genre that, lets be honest, has gone a wee bit stale over the last year or so. Personally, although I am looking forward to Halo 3 I am much more looking forward to a fully more emersive experience with Bioshock.

End of babble.

For me I have to say it would be:

Jet Set Radio Future - Mental J-Pop & Electro Craziness that just complimented the games nutty atmosphere perfectly.

Deus Ex - A bit old sounding now, but at the time it really enhanced the feeling of being in a run down techno dystopia.

Oddworld: Strangers Wrath - Mixing spagetti western sounds with growling synths and snarling guitars for the later action sequences of the game was just simply superb, not to mention the cut scenes... Beautiful.
