Which series is better and which are the best games in each?
strengths?
weaknesses?
I can't deieced which one to buy, Final Fantasy IV for the DS or Dragon Quest IV in September (or Dragon Quest IX)

First, I would like to ask you something: Are you able to enjoy games that are linear and have monotonous gameplay?
Pokemon needs to stay on hand held because not only does it drive sales, it just straight up would not be that great of a console game, it would be somewhat boring and it would deffinitly show its age gameplay wise.kaycon11
That makes no sense. Pokémon is one of the RPGs with most diverse gameplay ever (meaning that there are tons of stuff to do outside of the main quest). By your logic, then Final Fantasy games wouldn't sell.
And last, how the hell would you make an MMO??? It would be somewhat impossible, what are you gonna do, there is over 400 Pokemon. You would have to split up pokemon and regions and release them every 1-2 years, and then what happens when the MMO is already to the point to where D/P are, what happens when little joe wants to jump in and start playing, are you really gonna make him start from the very beginning.kaycon11
It seems like you have never played a MMORPG. The point of them is that the most time you spent, the further you advance in the game, and new players ARE supposed to start from the beggining. Pokémon would work very well as a MMORPG if adapted properly.
And then leveling up, how would that work, whats if you got a couple lvl 70 characters going into the johto, either you're gonna get by with a breeze or they would have to make you keep those pokemon back in the other region until you got all the badges for the new region.kaycon11
They can make it so that the Gym Leaders' Pokémon's levels vary depending of the levels of your Pokémon.
Also, a 3D console game would not be that possible either, again where would you start??? Are you really gonna start over from the beginning and start doing reimaginings for every region in the Pokemon series???kaycon11
...What? Why should a 3D Pokémon game have to start from the beggining? Why can't they simply create a alternate new region (like in Colosseum, but much more detailed) where you can get the Pokémon that are unobtainable in DP, but which still had missing Pokémon that need to be traded?
It would be somewhat cool, especially if it had Dragon Quest 8 graphics and colors, but I just don't think it would be realistic, it would take lots of work and money and I don't think they get as big as an income as they get with the handheld games.kaycon11
Who said it has to be realistic?
So there, bottom line, MMO's are not for kids and the handheld games don't cost nearly as much money as it would for a 3D console version and they make a bigger income then they ever would on a console version.kaycon11
Who cares if they aren't for kids? Is not like they're going to stop making regular Pokémon games. A PokéMMORPG would be just a alternative.
This is strange. For once, we can say "Don't blame Sega for this". The motion control, or rather the lack of, is Dimps Corp.'s responsibilty.
I know this game will suck. I knew it from the moment I heard Sega say "We're making Sonic a werewolf!". And yes, I know I'm a Sonic fanboy. But that doesn't mean I think it will rule.
By the way, the title is a bit misleading.
TheLordRagnarok
So you know it sucks even before playing it, eh?
You know, if players didn't make comments as ridiculous as this one, then maybe Sega would actually listen to what the fans want. The problem is that there's almost never smart comments worthy of being taken into account.
I took it.
One copy of Super Smash Brothers Brawl just wasn't enough, so I waited in the shadows until the timing was right.

i mean, yea its fun n all, but it gets so boring after a while, or is it just me??

All games are boring once you played them once
That's why they make new games
Here we have the logic of someone who has never heard of terms such as "replayability value", "open-endness" or "secrets and hidden stuff".
There's too many games out to bother with that for every single game
It's bad enough that you have to buy games while you're still playing others because of the release dates.
You think that a backlog of games should get even bigger because you're replaying a 40 hour game again? No way.
A game like Williams Pinball is a perfect example of a game you can pick up and play. Even on it's longest setting you're going to only waste an hour away from new games. Then you can move to other games.
I just got done with My Life As A King for 32 (rounded) hours and while I loved the game I just don't have time to play it again.
Now your logic sounds like that of a spoiled rich kid.
Not everyone has the money or the time to buy and play different games nearly everyday. And definitely, not everyone has the patience to try all kinds of mediocre games just to try them, when they could simply be playing the extra hours of gameplay offered by the great ones and having more fun than with a new one.
