And now a message from our sponsors...

*ahem*

Well, now that I'm all back and settled in again, it's time for me to get down to business...

Serious. Business.

Three words: Legend of Nintendo Union.

What? Four words? No, you're just hearing things. Clean out your ears so you can listen to this next part...

---

Begin... transmission...

Hello, I am Sorabot, a creation of the leader and founder of the Legend of Nintendo Union (originally called the Pokemon Story Union) and I am here today to tell you about the LoNU in a way that may cause you to want to join.

You see, while trying to be a good little telemarketer-thingy-person, I'm going to show you what you could find at the union...that we all want you to join in on!

Want the latest news on all things Nintendo? Look no further! Want to help create an epic story? Right over here!

As a member of the LoNU, you would be able to write review for games that will be featured every week, and join in with union games and tournaments.

The Pokemon Story Union was founded in September of last year. Sadly, the union never really grew into what everyone who was part of it hoped it would. Recently, though, the union underwent a name change and the LoNU was born. The activity at the union has increased dramatically since the name change, as shown by the number of views. From September of last year to June 8th of this year, we only got 10,000 views. From June 8th to today, we have gotten over 20,000 new views, putting us on the list of top 10 Nintendo unions for views. Sadly, as of right now the union is slowing down again because there are only a few dedicated members who post regularly. I think the problem is that so many people are already part of a Nintendo union that they don't want to join another one. It still wouldn't hurt to give the union a try though, would it?

Current going ons in the union include a "Nintendo's best game competition" and a tournament still accepting entries (using the game Super Smash Brothers: Brawl).

So, come on everyone, come on down to the Legend of Nintendo Union and take a nice look around! Join, post, and have fun with all of the great people you will find there. See you there! /transmission Sorabot

*Turns off Sorabot*

Well, now that that's out... read it! Absorb it! DO WHAT IT SAYS! Join the union and help us all out, have fun, blah blah, get owned by me in video games and stuff...

Let's see... Aside from that uh... suggestion from Sorabot, I don't have much else to say...

BESIDES THE FACT THAT I GOT MY CAR! :o

Two days ago (or yesterday if it's not midnight for you yet :P) (OK IT WAS ON SUNDAY YOU HAPPY?) I rode allllll the way down to Massachusetts to pick up my very first car. My uncle's elderly neighbor and friend was put into the hospital and she ended up giving him the car. He was looking for someone to sell it to, and my dad decided to buy it for me.

$900 dollars later, and I have a pretty decent first car. Made in '89, but with under 20,000 miles on it, it still looks almost brand new. A few scratches here and there, but nothing I can fix up. 4 new tires, and 2 new spares. Working air conditioner and a radio (no CD player though, more on the music part in a minute). Comfy seats and a built in security system. Yes, it's a nice car for me to start out with. I have to wait until January to do any driving though, because I'm only 15 right now. I'll be doing plenty of practice out behind my house though. :P

Now for the music predicament... which I finally found a solution to! :o

Since I knew the car was old, I knew there wouldn't be a very good radio on it. No CD player. Well, the solution came to me while riding back from Mass.: iPod radio converter! :o The car has one of those lighter things on it that you don't see anymore, and if I take that out I'll be able to plug in an iPod thing that lets me listen to it on the radio. I can save some money from that because I won't have to replace the radio to listen to anything worthwhile. :D

Let's see... what else...

As far as books go (been reading a lot lately) I'm currently finishing up a new series I started in Maine: The Kingmaker, Kingbreaker series. Spaced across two 600 page or so books, the story is about a fisherman named Asher who goes to the kingdom city of Dorana to seek out riches with which he will buy his Da (what he calls his dad) a luxurious fishing boat, named after his deceased mother. What Asher finds in Dorana, though, is his destiny. He befriends a man named Gar, who just so happens to be the magicless prince of Dorana. Through Gar, Asher gets the job he has been looking for: a high paying task. As the Assistant Olken Administrator (the two tribes of people living in the world are the Olken, a race who is seemingly magicless, but they actually have dormant magic, and the Doranen, the ruling class, magicians) to Gar, Asher delves deep into the world of royal politics. Little does he know, he is destined to save the world (hence the reason why the first book is called "The Innocent Mage", because he has no clue of what he is going to do). As the final days draw near, will Asher, the Innocent Mage, guided by his one true love Dathne, Jervale's heir, be able to save the world?

There we have it, my own description of the series. I'm really enjoying it. I'm about 200 pages into the second book, and it's getting better with every page.

On the video game front, just today I started playing Little King's Story for the Wii. After playing it a few hours, I can safely say that it is a superb game, definitely worth the money. Sadly though, the game has flown under the radar and isn't selling nearly as much as it should (most retailers don't even carry the game). Regardless of that, I recommend the game to anyone who liked Pikmin or anyone who would like to play a really good game for their Wii!

Music time! The newest band that has found it's way into my ears is Catamenia. Catamenia is a Melodic Black Metal band from Oulu, Finland.

A quick history of the band (taken from Wikipedia):

---

They released their firstdemo albumin their first active year, simply titledDemo '95. Their second demo,Windsreleased in 1996, led to a four-album contract withMassacre Recordsin 1997. Their debut full-lengthalbumHalls of Frozen Northwas recorded in Commusication Studios,Beindersheim,Germany, in 1997 with Gerhard Magin (Crematory,Mystic Circle) and was released in 1998. A year later they recorded their second album,Morning Crimson(1999) in Sweden, at Sunlight Studios with Thomas Skogsberg (Katatonia,Dismember). The band's third albumEternal Winter's Prophecywas recorded in their home country in 2000 at Tico-Tico Studios with Ahti Kortelainen (Kalmah,Eternal Tears of Sorrow,Dawn of Relic). Their last album for Massacre Records was entitledEskhata, released in 2002, recorded inOulu, Finland at SoundMix Studios with producerMika Pohjola(The Black League). After the release and promotion ofEskhata, Catamenia renewed their contract with Massacre Records for three more albums, citing good working relations.

Catamenia faced many line-up changes during the rehearsal of their fifth album, but their line-up steadied and again were a six-piece for its release.

Catamenia recorded their fifth albumChaos Bornat Neo Studio in Oulu, Finland with Kari Vähäkuopus and Immu Ilmarinen (Burning Point,Embraze,Afterworld,Sentenced).ChaosBorncombines melodics and aggressive metal with excellent balance. After praise from media and their fans forChaosBorn,Winternight Tragedieswas stated as their sixth studio release, again with Mastervox Studios and producers Kakke Vähäkuopus and Immu Ilmarinen.

While working onWinternight Tragedies, the band encountered problems with collaboration, distance and lack of practice. As a result line-up changes were made. Vocalist Mika and bassist Timo were replaced by new vocalist O.J. Mustonen and bassist Mikko Hepo-oja.

The album features raw, aggressive and angry songs while still keeping the melodious background intact.

In 2006, their seventh album,Location:COLDwas released. Later that year, a DVD entitled,Bringing the Cold to Poland, was released featuringliverecordings at the Stodola Club inWarsaw,Poland.

Drummer Veikko Jumisko departed from Catamenia in Spring 2007 because he was not able to join the tour anymore.

TheUStour was postponed until 2008, because of promotion problems. A short Canadian tour called Brothers of Cold took place in May 2008.

In May 2008, Olli Mustonen left the band for undisclosed reasons. It is believed since he missed the Canadian tour, he was deemed unreliable. Ari Nissilä will take over lead vocals from now on.

So far I am enjoying the band, and I'm looking forward of listening to more of them in the future.

Now for my top three favorite songs of the moment:

  1. Frozen Angel - Norther (sung by new vocalist Aleksi Sihvonen) - The new singer did a great job with the song, and I can't stop listening to it. I'm really looking forward to what Aleksi can do with the band. (Aleksi was formerly with the band Imperanon)
  2. YDKS - Norther - Well, while constantly listening to Frozen Angel, I usually just listen to all of my Norther music. I never really listened to this song much until I really stopped and heard how great it was. It stands for "You Don't Know ****". Great song. :D
  3. In Your Face - Children of Bodom - First off, I have to say that I don't enjoy Are You Dead Yet? and Blooddrunk NEARLY as much as I liked Something Wild, Hatebreeder, Follow the Reaper, and Hate Crew Deathroll. But, I keep getting In Your Face stuck in my head, which has recently made me start my shuffles listening to it.

Well, as I close this rendition of my blog, I'm going to point out a few unions that could use your help:

  • The Legend of Nintendo Union, as shown earlier in the blog
  • The Shredder's Union - This great union has been suffering from lack of activity lately, and could really use a little boost up. If you play guitar, or like rock/metal music, go ahead and check the union out! (Leader - Darth-Caedus)
  • Blue Bomber Battalion: A union all about MegaMan! A fairly new union, the BBB is still in it's early stages of development. If anyone is a fan of MegaMan, go ahead and join! (Leader - cronomagus36)
  • The Ecchi Union - A union made to prove that ecchi is not just inappropriate. Come and join the union if you like ecchi titles such as to-LOVE-ru and Sekirei, come on down! (Leader - missanimefan)
  • The Yuri Union - Almost the same purpose of the ecchi union, but this time with Yuri. JOIN! (Leader - swimmer1029)
  • Dark Rulers Anime Union - An older union that I've been part of for a long time but admittedly almost never visit. As the name suggests, you can be as evil as you want there! (Leader - Dhameliz)
  • Clan of Evil Conquest - A union similar to the DRAU, come here and be an evil overlord! Join a squad and have some evil fun! (Leader - missanimefan)
  • Anime Fans Hideout - A union for anime fans and manga fans to hang out and have a fun time posting. (Leader - -Katsuri-)
  • The Toonami Union - Well, this union doesn't exactly need help, but I feel like it deserves a mention. My first union ever, the TU has been one of my main hang out spots since I was a complete noob here on GameSpot. With great officers and lots of great activities, the TU is a great place to be a recruit, and maybe some day an officer. :D (Leader - asvicj)

Well, that's all I have to say about unions! And so concludes my *insert number here*th blog!
