PSP vs DS

Why that? Why complain over something so stupid? Because mostly it is human nature to compare things especially when you have a passion for the things you are comparing. But PLEASE get your facts straight! The PSP's battery life is not so terrible that you need you can only play for a short amount of time. They do have battery packs out for some more play time. It should be noted that if you slap the systems screen on high or medium brightness, then you definitly will see a decrease in play time. The same with the DS if it were in the same situation. What gets me about the PSP is that they allowed for all these new things that can be done but they wont allow it. What I'm talking about is the ability to store files on the PSP memory stick. They have an option to run a game off of the memory stick but no games support it's function at the moment. If they or some other game company had produced software to utilize this then I'd be happier. I would be able to make my own games and try them out on the go. If I'm tired of my creations someone else's create may satisfy my hunger but as of the moment this is not possible that is why hackers try to hack it. They say some game making software is to come over but the company making this software hasn't brought out any new light on whether it will release here or not. Someone tried an import version of the game and found out that the core engine was designed to utilize more than what the software is capable of. I think that is a rip off. No one is going to buy it if it can do more than what the custormer is offered.

PSP hacking

Everything in the market these days movies, TV shows, music, and game systems as well as games are in trouble. What next, cars?!?!? I don't go against the ideal of sharing music after all way before CDs there was cassettes and they never hit hard on the music industry as the music industry claims .mp3 songs burned onto a CD does. When CDs came out why didn't manufactures create music systems to allow copy of "SOUND" not music but whatever was played on the radio like they did with the cassettes, instead you got the music industry crying over spilled milk. This is what happens when you don't plan carefully. If there was a radio that could copy music onto a CD from the radio or off of a cassette then we wouldn't have as much a stir even if we did they couldn't say that it was hurting the industry. It isn't hard to take a copy of a CD or cassette or even an old album and copy it onto a cassette. Cassettes still exist people! Movies being copied, well I think that is wrong. I only think it's wrong when the movie copied is one that hasn't gone through a year or more. Once it shows up on TV then what is it going to hurt having a copy here or there? TV shows, well that depends. Are they shows currently airing? If so then it isn't a bad ideal. It airs on TV, a simple VCR can tape these shows and what stops a person from keeping that tape as long as they want? Nothing so get over it. I still have episodes from FLCL on tape, is that going to kill anyone? No I don't think so, so get over it. Games being copied, samething if the game is old then what's the problem? Nintendo wants to sell old games on the next gen system. Do they think this is the final solution to this problem? No I don't think so. Selling a game that someone can emulate on a comuputer for free is dumb, especially when the game is OLD. I really don't think it's a good ideal. Nintendo president once said "we make games for gamers" or something to that effect, it made me think they were really serious about who they make games for. Not saying they were never serious. But when you come out and say things like "action speak louder than words" and give the whole impression that you're going to WOW people then you better deliver but maybe it's what I call "Showroom attitude". Well good night. -_-

Sweating PSP? 0_0

YES! yes this actually happened. As I got out of my car I pulled out the PSP to play a quick game only to find that the screen has literaly sweatted all on itself. On a hot day it is not good ideal to leave a PSP in your pocket.

PSP launch!

Thursday 24, on March....that is all I have to say. Now at the moment it is a Tuesday so this is very exciting. And yet I still haven't decided whether I want to buy Dark Stalkers, Wipeout Pure, Untold Legends as a second game. I may very well just get two and if so which ones? I like RPGs and because Untold Legends is an RPG or rather action/rpg, I want it but Wipeout Pure has wicked tracks to race on and even though this one is a 2D it still reigns supreme, it's Dark Stalkers an old classic. :) What can I say, I'm a sucker for 2D style fighting. :) But still I don't know which...

Gaming Industry and those who complain

Realize that the companies that make your game that you play are out for two things. Customer satisfaction and money for without these two then the company would have no way of keeping itself afloat. Why do you think they try to make the best games they can? That is why. Your satisfaction. I'm definitly sure they enjoy what they do however don't be surprised if you find one or two in a company who don't. They are not gods so they can only take on one task at a time, expecting them to come out with (place game title here and number that is two or more above the current one that is out example: Star Ocean 10). Because some can get very passionate about this biz it's quite easy for some to feel like there is a power struggle between the big boys but trust me, they are not out to sink the other down into the water. If this were true then there would only be one company making nothing but video games. Scariest thing would be if the game industry just dried up and faded like the hoop thing they use to have in the 70's but that's not possible since this has been around for more than that. Realize that people just want to unwind from a days work or school so by playing a game it helps. Emerse yourself in another realm or play a sport that you can't do phyiscally for certain reason. I already own a DS, now don't label me just yet. I will own a PSP, hopefully. The price is scarey to me but I can afford it. It is not the fact that the price is what it is but rather the question "Why not sell the system by itself?". Well easy answer, they want your money, they want your business. If they can sweeten the deal then add more stuff to it then making it cost more due to the things they added on then fine they can and will do that. If you don't like it then wait for it to lower it's price tag, wait for those very items to be shaved right off of the requirements for buying it. Or find some other way which I'm sure is no safer than buying it at the store. Why do some come into a message board, complain about the price then end up having someone else scold them for doing so? There is a phrase it goes something like this: "If you got nothing good to say, don't say anything at all." It's as easy as that. They want to complain about the price good, ask them why they don't like or tell them that this is just how it is and if they don't like it then don't buy it. No one is forcing them to buy it. That is so anti-PSP, I know but the plain fact is that some people will have a fit over just about anything and it is no good taking anger into yourself and having to deal with it. I use to feel that way, just angry and I still do; it is no place for a person to be. Take Yoga or something but don't have a fit over an overpriced item. You will get it and if you don't then maybe someone up there decided that you weren't meant to. Maybe fate had something else in store for you. I don't know, either way don't fret just enjoy life. :)

Making an RPG.

Here is some tips or some advice:

- Whenever you have a cutscene make the backgraound music loud enough unless if you have voices in it. The game I'm playing now has cutscenes with low background music. It's a void of no sound but sound effects which don' t come very often.

-Cut your cities/towns, dungeons, forests, and whatever else you have for locations into sections that way there will not be huge load times just to load one place.

-Whenever making a character or characters, try to breath life into them. Make them as real as anyone person you would normally bump into in real life. That way the player can get a feel for your character(s).

-Don't take on alot untill you know what you're doing. Go step by step and break your game making into parts that way you wont be easly lost.

That is about as much advice as I have right now. I hope this helps.

It's wrong to go by assumption.

Ok so why is it I come on into this new place for the first time only to be judged like some criminal? I had a bad day thank you! Do I really need to be excluded just because of your assumption? This is what happens when one person gets the wrong ideal. Be certain before coming to a conclusion.
