To those who spoke about "STANDARDS" in game ratings: Ok, lets say that Standards change.. DID YOU EVER F****** EXPECT TO GET A SECOND BONUS DVD DISC FOR FREE?!?! Isn't that a Value asset? Was it ever done before? Isn't it considered OVER the standard? Than why did Alex give it an 8?! He also wrote that the unlockables "aren't all that good" but he didn't even mention them. Urns of power, Arena of the Fates, Challange of the Titans, Costumes unlocked by different means etc... These have a LOT of replay value and goddamnit he just decided to skip those because he was just held back from giving this game a better score. Oh and when I asked him why he didn't talk about them, you know what he did? NOTHING! He just dodged my questions.. Call me a conspiracy freak but something's fishy around here. As for the graphics, I think Alchael's post deserves another READ (He sounds like an expert on this stuff): """To all stupid posters out there criticizing GOW2's lackluster improvements over the original and comparing it as inferior to DMC and RE4 in terms of not-so-justified graphical presentation: First, you forgot to note that the Jade Engine which GOW and GOW2 was running on is a technical wonder, far superior than any hack'n'slash or FPS engines out there. Haven't you noticed the almost negligible 2 second load times of GOW/GOW2? Well that's something no other hack'n'slash or FPS on the PS2 can ever dream to come up even close with. (The only games I found sharing this ability [the ones I had played though] was Shadow of The Colossus and Genji, incidentally, both are Sony titles. This ought to show that Sony is the master of their own machine, they know how to crank out the PS2's full potential to the last drop while still being creative and efficient, ei. shortest load times while being graphically competitive all in all.) Second, you failed to notice GOW/GOW's very fluid gameplay and character animations resulting from high Frames per Second due to the Jade Engine's proficient use of the memory bus. Last but not the least, GOW's inpired art direction was something to leave us in awe all the time we play the game. It's consistent throughout the game yet is vaied enough in content to save us from boredom, gives intensive attention to detail and maintains the epic feel of the making of a legend, talking about an undertaking to slaughter a god, that required a cinematic and imaginative presentation to convey to us that the game is as powerful as it sounds. GOW did its job very well on that department, and I see no reason GOW2 won't."""" SRSLY?? DMC3?! RE4??!? SotC is another thing due to it's epic scale and Artwork but it's stll inferior to GoW/GoW2. And there are no loading screens in GoW/GoW2.. Unless your PS2 is screwed up so you get these hiccups sometimes.
Am I the only one seeing HORRIBLE quality?? I don't mean the Game's graphics I mean the picture quality.. I see ALOT of jagged edges. Normally gamespot gives you Hi-res quality pictures of in-game bits but all I see here is.. EWW! The graphics are indeed better and it makes you think, if they improved a near perfect graphics they should be getting a higher score but geuss what! God of War; Graphics 9.God of War 2; Graphics 9. This article says they improved but the review says otherwise... WHAT THE HELL IS GOING IN GAMESPOT??
