That Rebel Moon is Shining, Those Stars Burn Like Diamonds

Wow, it's been a while. But it wouldn't be a Country Music award show without a blog to go with it. The CMA Awards are November 11th, so here's how I think they should go.

Entertainer of the Year
Kenny Chesney -Possibly the best concert that I've ever been to so far. Kenny knows how to put on a show and his songs are perfect for everyone to sing along to! Wouldn't be disappointed if he won.

Brad Paisley- Also saw Brad this year too. He's my favorite male country artist right now and he put on an awesome show. Wouldn't mind if he wins either.

George Strait -Notice a theme? I also saw George this summer. The guy is timeless! He still does almost everything better than the stars of today. His concerts are cla$sic but they don't have all the effects that the others have. So he's not gonna win this one.

WINNER Taylor Swift -Continuing with the theme, I saw her 2 weeks ago. I had heard from others that she was kinda disappointing in concert, so my expectations weren't high. But I was in for quite a surprise! She pulled out ALL the stops for her Fearless Tour. Though I still don't like all the pop music attention she's getting, she put so much into all of her performances and it turned out incredible! She's my Choice

Keith Urban- The streak is finally broken. I missed out on seeing Keith this summer which disappointed me. He's the next person on my list of people that I need to see in concert!

Male Vocalist of the Year
Kenny Chesney- Kenny's an awesome performer but not exactly at the top in terms of vocals

WINNER Brad Paisley- He's my favorite for a reason! His incredible lyrics along with his unmatched guitar playing will lock this up for him for the 3rd year in a row!

Darius Rucker- He's been a very pleasant surprise but not quite up there with the others

George Strait- Like i mentinoed before, he's timeless! I have no problem with him winning

Keith Urban- If Brad doesn't win, Keith will probably get the win

Female Vocalist of the Year
Miranda Lambert-Saw her this summer and she put on a really great show. Haven't listened to her new album yet, but I've heard all kinds of good things. She's not quite ready for this award yet.

Martina McBride

Reba McEntire

WINNER Taylor Swift- Taylor will be the popular choice for this award but there's only one problem: the vocalist part. While her song writing is almost second to none, her vocals are her only weak spot. Other popular singers like Kenny Chesney have won many Entertainer of The Year awards but he has never won a vocalist of the year award. I have a feeling that this is gonna be the story for Taylor too. Well, as long as she's up against Carrie. This was a joke!

Carrie Underwood- I'm curious how this will play out because Carrie took off most of the year to work on her new album. So i'm wondering if that will hurt her in votes because she only had one single during this time. It shouldn't though, so this will be her 4th year in a row winning this award.

Vocal Group of the Year
Eagles

WINNER Lady Antebellum- My obsession with Lady A isn't as strong as it once was but they are as good as it gets when it comes to country groups.

Little Big Town- I love them too, but they've been very quiet lately. Haven't heard much from them in terms of new songs.

Rascal Flatts- they make me sick....

Zac Brown Band

Vocal Duo of the Year
Big & Rich

Brooks & Dunn

Joey + Rory

Montgomery Gentry- Saw them in concert and they put on one hell of a show. I wouldn't mind them winning, but their songs do tend to get overplayed and get really old, really fast.

WINNER Sugarland- This duo is hard to judge. I'm not really a fan of either person and they do have a couple songs that I hate. But they make up for it with a bunch of catchy songs, such as their most recent "It Happens"

New Artist of the Year
Randy Houser
Jamey Johnson
Jake Owen
WINNER Darius Rucker- Commented on him already. Don't really like anyone that much in this category other than him
Zac Brown Band

Musician of the Year
Eddie Bayers – Drums
Paul Franklin – Steel Guitar
Dann Huff – Guitar
Brent Mason – Guitar
WINNER Mac McAnally – Guitar- I recognized him because he co-writes with Kenny Chesney and sung a duet with him in the song "Down the Road" which I really really like!

Album of the Year
American Saturday Night, Brad Paisley- Got this album the day that it came out and I wasn't disappointed one bit!

Defying Gravity, Keith Urban- He's got some REALLY good songs on this album, but I can't justify voting for an album that I don't own

WINNER Fearless, Taylor Swift- I own this CD also and while it does have a bunch of hits and will almost definitely win, i can't justify voting for it because i don't believe it's her at her best. She needs to go back to writing more country songs

Love On The Inside, Sugarland

That Lonesome Song, Jamey Johnson

Single of the Year
"Chicken Fried" – Zac Brown Band- Most annoying song....

WINNER "I Run To You" – Lady Antebellum- Love this song but it really didn't take off like the others did

"In Color" – Jamey Johnson

"People Are Crazy" – Billy Currington- This song was probably the most catchy song of the year. Billy Currington just has a way with making his songs like that. Definitely gets my vote.

"Then" – Brad Paisley- I was going back and forth between this and Billy C. You'll see why I made my decision in the next category.

Song of the Year
"Chicken Fried" - Zac Brown/Wyatt Durrette

"I Told You So" - Randy Travis- Love Carrie, but this award goes to the writer. So she won't get this award

WINNER "In Color" - Jamey Johnson/Lee Thomas Miller/James Otto

"People Are Crazy" - Bobby Braddock/Troy Jones- Wonderfully written song but it had tough competition

"Then" - Brad Paisley/Chris DuBois/Ashley Gorley- I picked this one because this category is more about the writing of the song. And i think this one is one of Brad Paisley's best written love songs. And he's got a TON of them!

Musical Event of the Year
"Cowgirls Don't Cry" – Brooks & Dunn featuring Reba McEntire

"Down The Road" – Kenny Chesney (with Mac McAnally)- Love this song! And if it weren't for Carrie being in this category, this would be the choice for me.

"Everything But Quits" – Lee Ann Womack (duet with George Strait)

"I Told You So" – Carrie Underwood featuring Randy Travis- Gotta vote for Carrie. Her voice just takes this song to the next level. Don't really like the duet but I gotta vote for my girl :)

"Old Enough" – The Raconteurs featuring Ricky Skaggs and Ashley Monroe

WINNER "Start A Band" – Brad Paisley (duet with Keith Urban)

Music Video of the Year
"Boots On" – Randy Houser- UGH, i HATE this music video. Sooo stupid

WINNER "Love Story" – Taylor Swift- This one probably gets the win but I really don't see much special about it. So everyone's dressed in the Romeo & Juliet period outfits....big deal. There are better choices for this award.

"People Are Crazy" – Billy Currington- Love the song, but the video isn't really anything special

"Start A Band" – Brad Paisley (duet with Keith Urban)- The two best guitar players in country music join forces to make this song AMAZING. Paisley and Urban look like they're having so much fun playing guitar together in this video while they show kids playing a Guitar Hero ****video game. Love watching the two of them play those solos!

"Troubadour" – George Strait

I've been down on my knees just a' beggin the Lord (edit with results)

So the CMT Music Awards are coming up on June 16th, so that means that it's time for me to pick the winners. All these awards are 100% fan voted, so there tends to be a lot of winners that aren't necessarily deserving of the award. There's gonna be a bunch that I'm not happy about, but it'll be fun at least.

Edit: These Awards were a total joke!!! No wonder none of the big stars showed up

VIDEO OF THE YEAR

Trace Adkins - "You're Gonna Miss This"- Why does it seem like this song is up for an award every year?? It's not gonna win

Kenny Chesney featuring The Wailers - "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven" This isn't the reggae music awards, so Kenny isn't gonna win this one. Starting to miss the old Kenny Chesney

Toby Keith - "God Love Her" Good song, wouldn't be mad if it wins. But i don't think Toby has the fanbase to pull it off

Kid Rock - "All Summer Long" This one will get a ton of votes, but it BETTER NOT win! For the millioneth time...Kid Rock is NOT COUNTRY.

Lady Antebellum - "Lookin' For A Good Time I love Lady A, but i just don't think this song was big enough to win the award. Although i'd love to be wrong!

Brad Paisley - "Waitin' On A Woman" Yet another amazing song by Brad. And as always, the video for the song only makes it better! His usual combination of humorous yet beautiful lyrics make this song a hit! This one is definitely worth of winning Video of the Year.

Rascal Flatts - "Every Day" THEY ARE NOT COUNTRY!! They shouldn't even be at these awards....

Sugarland - "All I Want To Do" Most ANNOYING SONG EVER!!

Taylor Swift - "Love Story" WINNER I have to believe that this one is gonna be one of the favorites. Especially since it's a fan voted award. Taylor ALWAYS dominates the fan voted awards. The pop music fans may win this one for her. But the video wasn't anything special enough to win Video of the Year. This was awful!! They need to ditch the 100% fan voted part. It makes it almost IMPOSSIBLE for Taylor to lose because you get a bunch of pop music fans who know absolutely NOTHING about country. This song really isn't country at all!!

Carrie Underwood - "Just A Dream" If you read my favorite songs of 2008, you'll see why this song should win. The song is sooo incredibly written and performed, it deserves to take home the big one! The video was soo well done that i can't even watch the end of it because i don't like to see Carrie crying her eyes out :( But this one deserves to win!

MALE VIDEO OF THE YEAR

Trace Adkins - "You're Gonna Miss This" See previous category....

Toby Keith - "God Love Her" I wouldn't mind seeing this win

Brad Paisley - "Waitin' On A Woman" WINNER!! See last category for my comments on this song. This song SHOULD win, i'm pretty confident!

Keith Urban - "Sweet Thing" I'm starting to climb on the Keith Urban bandwagon, but this song wasn't quite good enough for this kinda award

FEMALE VIDEO OF THE YEAR

Why on earth is Carrie not nominated?????

Miranda Lambert - "More Like Her" I'd like to see this one win, but the Taylor fans will see that it doesn't. Really liking Miranda lately! Wonderful song, but i just don't think the video is anything special

Martina McBride - "Ride" Pretty catchy song, but Martina can't compete with all these new artists anymore

Kellie Pickler - "Don't You Know You're Beautiful" I think it would be AMAZING if this one won, but not gonna happen.

Taylor Swift - "Love Story" WINNER This one is almost a complete lock for her. No competition at all in this category. Without Carrie, Taylor will get an easy win here. I still think that Carrie SHOULD win this category, but there's really nothing that good, so i guess this one should win.

GROUP VIDEO OF THE YEAR

Lady Antebellum - "Lookin' For A Good Time" I love Lady A and I'm hoping that the two Rascal Flatts songs will split their fans vote. Lady A will be making a habit of winning this award!

Rascal Flatts - "Bob That Head" They're NOT COUNTRY!! Possibly the STUPIDEST song i've EVER heard!

Rascal Flatts - "Every Day" WINNER Still NOT COUNTRY!!

Zac Brown Band "Chicken Fried" The lead singer annoys me. Not a BAD song though...

DUO VIDEO OF THE YEAR

Brooks & Dunn - "Put A Girl In It" I haven't been impressed with some of their newer songs but they definitely got this one right!

Montgomery Gentry - "Roll With Me" Don't really know this song. These guys have been going downhill lately

Sugarland - "All I Want To Do" WINNER Sooo annoying....

Sugarland - "Already Gone" Hopefully like the last category, the fans will be split between the two songs. This isn't that bad of a song though

USA WEEKEND BREAKTHROUGH VIDEO OF THE YEAR

Julianne Hough - "That Song In My Head" I met Julianne last week and she was SOOO incredible. She totally blew me away and I think i'm in love lol This song was one of my favorites of last year, so she totally gets my vote for this one! Since it's fan voted, i think she'll get a lot of votes from Dancing with the Stars fans. Thank you Julianne for being such a nice, sweet and amazing person :)

Jamey Johnson - "In Color" This won song of the year at the ACM's a couple months ago, so I wouldn't be surprised if it wins here.

Lady Antebellum - "Lookin' For A Good Time" Sorry, but Julianne beats them out on this one. I'd pick them over her if this was their other song, but this one wasn't better than Julianne's

Zac Brown Band - "Chicken Fried" WINNER

COLLABORATIVE VIDEO OF THE YEAR

Brooks & Dunn featuring Reba McEntire - "Cowgirls Don't Cry"

Kenny Chesney featuring The Wailers - "Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven"

Brad Paisley with Keith Urban - "Start A Band" WINNER!!!! Combine Brad's great lyrics with his almost unmatched guitar playing, and then throw in another amazing guitarist in Keith Urban and you get one AMAZING song!!

Sugarland featuring Little Big Town and Jake Owen - "Life In A Northern Town" I love Little Big Town, but this song just doesn't really cut it with me. I swear it's from the Lion King or something!

CMT PERFORMANCE OF THE YEAR

Alan Jackson featuring Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley and George Strait - "Country Boy" WINNER!!!! I absolutely LOVED this performance and i even recorded it on to my iPod! So glad that this got a nomination.

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss - "Gone Gone Gone (Done Moved On)

Sugarland featuring Little Big Town and Jake Owen - "Life In A Northern Town

Def Leppard and Taylor Swift - "Photograph"

WIDE OPEN COUNTRY VIDEO OF THE YEAR

Def Leppard and Taylor Swift - "Photograph" Taylor's performance with Def Leppard was pretty awesome. I'm not really crazy about this song, but compared to the others, it gets my vote. Although they all totally rocked the performance of "Pour Some Sugar on Me"!!! and they rocked it again at the awards!!

Kid Rock - "All Summer Long" WINNER This one will probably win, but i've already stated what i feel about this song

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss - "Please Read The Letter" don't know it

Rehab featuring Hank Williams, Jr. - "Bartender Song" don't know it

If You Wanna Turn a Country Boy On....

It's been a little while, so here's another one of those iTunes shuffle survey things. If you wanna do this yourself, you might wanna create your own blog cuz the comments don't work well with surveys. Gotta love the diversity...from Garth Brooks to Hilary Duff to Led Zeppelin lol

To cheer myself up I: "Everlong" Foo Fighters

ACM Awards 09

The ACM Awards are coming up, so that means I need to make my picks for who I think SHOULD win these awards. Enjoy!

Entertainer of the Year
Kenny Chesney- he always wins...and I get tired of it
Brad Paisley- My current favorite male artist, but i have yet to see him in concert. That will change this July!
George Strait- hoping to see him in concert in a couple months
Keith Urban
Carrie Underwood- WINNER!!! YES!!! i saw her twice last year in concert and she was just phenomenal. I really don't think she stands a chance because females RARELY even get nominated for this award. But she definitely puts a on a show worthy of the award!

Album of the Year
Jamey Johnson- That Lonesome Song
Montgomery Gentry- Back When I Knew It All
George Strait- Troubadour
Taylor Swift- Fearless- WINNER I was really disappointed with this CD. Hopefully she realizes that she doesn't have the voice for pop music and her next album goes back to her country roots
Carrie Underwood- Carnival Ride- this album was strong from beginning to end, which is rare these days. This one is better song for song than her first album which was extremely successful

Top Male Vocalist
Kenny Chesney
Toby Keith
Brad Paisley- WINNER! he's had 10 #1 songs in a row and they just keep getting better and better. I don't know how he does it, but he never disappoints!
George Strait
Keith Urban

Top Female Vocalist
Miranda Lambert- I've really become a big fan of hers lately, but she's still not in Carrie's league
Heidi Newfield
Taylor Swift- may win this based on her pop appeal, but she isn't the best country singer
Carrie Underwood- WINNER nobody even comes close to her vocal ability. But this award isn't a guarantee Lee Ann Womack

Top Vocal Group
Lady Antebellum- my new favorite group! They're gonna be the future of good country music!
Little Big Town- saw them in concert and became a pretty good fan. But Lady A is better
Rascal Flatts- WINNER :( they're NOT country
Randy Rogers Band
the Lost Trailers

Top Vocal Duo

Big & Rich- John Rich is really good solo, but the two of them are on hiatus right now
Brooks & Dunn- They were amazing back in the day, but their new stuff is hit or miss. But no one else here is really worth mentioning
Joey & Rory
Montgomery Gentry
Sugarland- WINNER they will win, but they're soooo annoying

New Artist of the Year
Jake Owen
Julianne Hough- WINNER in terms of looks, I don't believe there's anyone better looking than Julianne! And she has a really good voice to go with her blonde hair and blue eyes :)
Zac Brown Band

Single Record of the Year
"Gunpowder & Lead", Miranda Lambert- love playing this on Rock Band, but not quite up there
"In Color", Jamey Johnson
"Johnny and June", Heidi Newfield
"Waitin' on a Woman", Brad Paisley- This song is simply awesome. This is another example of Brad Paisley at his best. The way he combines humorous yet meaningful and loving lyrics is incredible.
"You're Gonna Miss This", Trace Adkins WINNER

Song of the Year
"I Saw God Today", George Strait- beautiful song, but it doesn't top Brad
"In Color", Jamey Johnson WINNER
"Johnny and June", Heidi Newfield
"Waitin' on a Woman", Brad Paisley- see my comments on the last category
"You're Gonna Miss This", Trace Adkins

Video of the Year
"Johnny and June", Heidi Newfield
"Just a Dream", Carrie Underwood- One of the most emotional and moving songs. The video makes it even more meaningful. I refuse to watch the end of the video. I don't like seeing Carrie crying her eyes out. As soon as I see the guy knock on her door, I change the channel. Perfectly done video!
"Love Story", Taylor Swift- the typical story...song is great, catches on a pop audience and it gets played over and over and over and over again. It was great but got old REAL quick. The video wasn't anything really exciting, especially when compared with the others
"Troubadour", George Strait- this song never did much for me
"Waitin' on a Woman", Brad Paisley- WINNER It killed me to have to go against this song, but the competition was tough. Brad is famous for going all out on his videos and this one wasn't an exception. He brought in Andy Griffith to star in the video with him and it turned out wonderful!

Vocal Event of the Year
"Another Try", Josh Turner Featuring Trisha Yearwood- great song, but never got the attention that it deserves
"Cowgirls Don't Cry", Brooks & Dunn Featuring Reba McEntire
"Down the Road", Kenny Chesney With Mac McAnally
"Life in a Northern Town", Sugarland Featuring Little Big Town and Jake Owen- i love Little Big Town but i absolutely HATE this song with a passion!!
"Start a Band", Brad Paisley Duet With Keith Urban- WINNER!! Take the two best guitar players in country music and put them together....you get this song. This song is extremely catchy filled with great guitar playing. This song SHOULD be on Rock Band some day.

Happy Birthday, Carrie :)

In case you haven't looked around on my profile, I've got it pretty bad for Carrie lol. So I'm wishing her a very happy 26th birthday. I'm pretty sure that Mike will do something really special for her because i know that i sure would! Five and half years is totally within my range, right? lol

Edit: Well, scoring the game winner in OT while she was at the game is insane! How the heck would i ever top that???

Start a new fashion, wear your heart on your sleeve (AKA Grammys)

Like i do before a lot of award shows, i'm gonna list who i think should win in select categories. Cuz really, i could care less about most of the categories out there! I'm not a big fan of the Grammy's ever since Amy Winehouse beat out Taylor Swift for Best New Artist, which was a total joke! These voters aren't really country music people so their picks aren't always very accurate. Winners are in red if it wasn't who i wanted. I'm sooo happy that Carrie and Brad won!! 3 Years in a row for Carrie and she'll be making it 4 years next year :)

Best New Artist

  • Adele- Who???
  • Duffy
  • Jonas Brothers
  • Lady Antebellum- They have quickly become my favorite country band and are proud holders of my #1 song of 2008. Too bad the stupid Jonas Brothers will win :(
  • Jazmine Sullivan
Best Female Country Vocal Performance
  • "For These Times" - Martina McBride
  • "What I Cannot Change" - LeAnn Rimes
  • "Last Name" - Carrie Underwood- Carrie has won this the last 2 years and this will make it 3 straight! I've heard of the Trisha song, but none of the others, this should be a lock!I LOVE her :)
  • "Last Call" - Lee Ann Womack
  • "This Is Me You're Talking To" - Trisha Yearwood
Best Male Country Vocal Performance
  • "You're Gonna Miss This" - Trace Adkins
  • "In Color" - Jamey Johnson
  • "Just Got Started Lovin' You" - James Otto
  • "Letter To Me" - Brad Paisley- Ever since Garth Brooks retired, Brad Paisley has been my favorite male country singer. His songs combine amazing lyrics whether they're humorous or heartfelt and his guitar playing is unmatched in country music!
  • "Troubadour" - George Strait
Best Country Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocals
  • "God Must Be Busy" - Brooks & Dunn
  • "Love Don't Live Here" - Lady Antebellum- I've already talked about how awesome Lady Antebellum is and this was my #1 song of 2008. Rascal Flatts will probably win because they claim to be country, but are actually pop. So they have a bigger fanbase even though they suck!
  • "Every Day" - Rascal Flatts
  • "Blue Side Of The Mountain" - The SteelDrivers
  • "Stay" - Sugarland- ugh.....
Best Country Collaboration With Vocals
  • "Shiftwork" - Kenny Chesney & George Strait- I'm not a big fan of any of these songs. I love Little Big Town, but i hate that song with a passion! This song got annoying, but it's the best of the worst here
  • "Killing The Blues" - Robert Plant & Alison Krauss- never heard of it....
  • "House Of Cash" - George Strait & Patty Loveless
  • "Life In A Northern Town" - Sugarland, Jake Owen & Little Big Town
  • "Let The Wind Chase You" - Trisha Yearwood & Keith Urban
Best Country Song
  • "Dig Two Graves" - Randy Travis
  • "I Saw God Today" - George Strait- This was also in my top songs of 2008. Not a huge fan of George Strait, but this song is great! Any Christian would love this song!
  • "In Color" - Jamey Johnson
  • "Stay" - Sugarland- I hate this song with a passion and am finally glad that i don't have to see it on any more award shows
  • "You're Gonna Miss This" - Trace Adkins
Best Country Album
  • "That Lonesome Song" - Jamey Johnson
  • "Sleepless Nights" - Patty Loveless
  • "Troubadour" - George Strait- This is another one of those "best of the worst" ones. I like the one song, so that puts it ahead of these other ones by default
  • "Around The Bend" - Randy Travis
  • "Heaven, Heartache And The Power Of Love" - Trisha Yearwood
Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media

  • "Down to Earth"- Peter Gabriel (WALL-E)
  • "Ever Ever After" - Carrie Underwood (Enchanted)- I threw this one in just for fun. Carrie doesn't even get credit for this one because it's for the writers. But she should because her vocals make this one shine :)
  • "Say" - John Mayer (The Bucket List)
  • "That's How You Know" - Amy Adams (Enchanted)
  • "Walk Hard" - John C. Reilly (Walk Hard — The Dewey Cox Story)

Let's Go Cards!

I've been meaning to make this blog for a while, but just haven't had time, so here it is! I've been an Arizona Cardinals fan for about 4 years now. Since back when they were the worst team in the NFL. After drafting Larry Fitzgerald and Matt Leinart, they became my favorite team! And now they're in the Superbowl! I'm wearing my Leinart Cards jersey and will hopefully watch a Cardinal victory. I'm sick of the Steelers and Ben Worthlessberger!!

You got nerve to waltz right in, and think what's mine is yours again

Since 2008 is now over, I decided to make a list of my top 10 songs from 2008. I'm pretty sure that Lizz knows some of these, but you might wanna check out the rest.

Honorable Mention

"Love Story"- Taylor Swift: This was a great song, but not good enough to get into my top 10. It does tend to get a little old after hearing it for a while

"You're Gonna Miss This"- Trace Adkins: Unfortunately this song didn't make the list either. This was GAC's #1 video of the year (Although it should've been Carrie). It talks about how even though things may not be exactly perfect, when you look back on it, you'll miss it. Wonderful song!

"Another Try"- Josh Turner: If you like singers with really low voices, you'll love Josh Turner. He's one of my favorite artists and he was great in concert. This is kind of a depressing love song, but very good.

10) "I Saw God Today"- George Strait: I'm normally not a big George Strait fan, but when i heard this song, i was amazed. This is a song that any Christian would love!

9) "Don't Think I Don't Think About It"- Darius Rucker: Who would have thought that a former member of Hootie and the Blowfish would make a country album? Not to mention a successful one. This song easily makes him the most successful crossover artist this year. This song is about walking away from someone you loved, but thinking about what might've happened if you hadn't.

8.) "Last Name"- Carrie Underwood: I know everyone's shocked that i would put a Carrie song on here lol. The song is really fun and has a great country feel to it. The only reason that it's not higher is because it got too overplayed. For those who don't know, it's about drinking too much and hooking up with a guy that you don't know anything about.

7) "Lookin For a Good Time"- Lady Antebellum: I have a feeling you'll hear more about Lady Antebellum really soon. This is the kinda song that will put you in a great mood. You go out on the town, meet someone, but you're not looking for anything serious. You're just looking for a good time!

6) "All-American Girl"- Carrie Underwood: It so happens that this song is one of Carrie's most well done music videos. If you haven't seen the video, just look at my banner! In concert, Carrie always pulls a little girl out of the audience to sing it with her. Carrie's amazing voice makes this cute song simply irresistable.

5) "That Song In My Head"- Julianne Hough: If there were ever a song that reflects its title, this would be it! I can't count how many days in a row i ended up singing this song at work. It was literally almost a week! And it's not just because she mentions a "blue eyed boy", which may or may not be me lol. Please, please, please be me :)

4) "I'm Still A Guy"- Brad Paisley: This is the ultimate guy song! Any real guy will love this song. Brad Paisley is known for his humorous and clever lyrics, but this is by far his humor at its best! This song claims that even though your girl will change you a little, you're still a guy. It also pokes fun at the feminine things that guys do now. My favorite line, "I don't highlight my hair, i've still got a pair" haha

3) "Waitin On A Woman"- Brad Paisley: In the last song i mentioned that it was Brad Paisley's humor at its best. This song is more clever and sentimental than anything. The song talks about all the ways that you end up waiting on a woman. But in the end, you don't mind waiting on a woman. This is one of my favorite Brad Paisley ballads and it was wonderfully put together.

2) "Just a Dream"- Carrie Underwood: This song is a little bit confusing at first. But once you put the pieces together, you'll be blown away. The only thing keeping this song from #1 is that it's so sad that you really don't wanna listen to it a ton. This is just one of those songs that you hear and go "WOW!" Carrie performed this at the CMA Awards and totally stole the show with this emotional song. The song is about a girl whose fiance has been overseas fighting in the war. She is so excited on her way to their wedding. Then you find out that it was all just a dream and that he died overseas and she is actually on her way to his funeral. The most powerful lyrics "They handed her a folded up flag and she held on to all she had left of him. The guards rang one last shot and it felt like a bullet in her heart." They give me chills every time. Put this incredible song together with Carrie's phenomenal vocals and it's amazing!

1) "Love Don't Live Here"- Lady Antebellum: A year ago, i was watching the CMA awards and i had no idea who this Lady Antebellum group was. Little did i know that i would end up owning their CD and falling in love with their music. Their contemporary sound is perfect without losing the traditional country sound. If they continue to put out songs like this, they will have a very very bright future! The lead singer has a very distinctive country type voice that you won't hear anywhere else. You know the saying "this song gets better every time i hear it"? I didn't think it was even possible. But after listening to this song all summer, i have yet to get even close to being sick of it. The song is about a girl coming back for her man after breaking his heart, but after everything she put him through, he tells her to leave. If the lyrics don't get you, the extremely catchy tune WILL!

Would you get the wrong impression if I called us a cab right now?
