i love building crappy computers and seeing what runs on them.elitegeek13
ya, always wanted to buy a simple cheap 500 dollar system that had basic parts...like today it would have something like a simple 8600GT or HD 3850 with simple AMD stuff and mobo...blah blah blah... but ya, and then see how fast it would run with custom overclocking and stuff...haha, its like fixing stuff thats small and won't hurt you...well, it might........ haha :D

why did you even bother asking?

well, there's showing off i guess. man, i want that rig!

elitegeek13

YA it would actually...lol, on 2d settings or whatever the game had with a frame rate of about 30....maybe, jsst maybe

I'm not showing off. I know nothing about PC's and always have a lot of questions. I'm always worried I'm not getting the best I can get with my money.

The best for you money would be simplely a pentium 1 computer, 16mb of ram, no videocard or some intel svga videocard with about 16mb of ram maybe, a 400 GB harddrive!

\

ick. do you think it would run diablo?

maybe, just maybe. it should cause that was its basic settings in 2d :D and its made around starcraft and that was able to play starcraft.... the old p1 we used to have was able to!

that rig's gonna pwn.elitegeek13
I dunno, it might not cause his system is just over dramatic. See, he should underclock everything he has there to 1Mhz cause it would be a little better...he might just be able to run Windows 95 on there. But, if he doesn't, he can always use Apple. He should get 2 Nvidia TI4200 cards and not run them in SLi as they can't. He should only get 1 MB of ram too, I think anyways...

haha, naw, just kidding, that rig there we customized is going to pwn!

[EDIT]Well, I think you should get 2x 2GB Sticks in there cause it'll pwn even more when the newer games come out cause Vista would eat 1GB of your ram! And your anti virus would eat the other 1GB :(

also i would recommend this power supply i have one and its awsome

Ya, we were looking at getting the 8800GT but we couldn't find it on tiger. The reason to the more beafed up power supply is because of just getting the pc to run a little more safely. Had some problems with a GTS and E6750 on a 500-Watt PSU, ya, it made it smoke. So, getting a 650 is just a little safer. Don't know the specs on the 8800GT, other than its faster and uses less power, but its just to be on the safe side. Plus, the system might put too much stress ona 500 or 550-Watt PSU, so just having the 650-Watt just means longer life and less stress. But anyways, ya, thx for the reply man.

To the other guy about the sound card. Ya, the reason was to put less stress on the CPU so that it doesn't have to do any extra work running sound. Don't know for sure, but having a sound card can boost performance by 10 percent or something (don't know numbers exactly). But ya, also heard that it brings better sound quality than just using onboard.

Ya, haha, forgot about that one. The raptor harddrives are really good. Does anyone know the performance it gets on it, other than faster? Anyways, thx for the reply guys.

Ya, don't forget Diablo 2. That game was awesome...

Halo is for console...unless your a serious fan and what to play it with better graphics on the PC/better handling with the mouse and keyboard. But you should prob just leave the halo game for console play.

Okay i'm a new gamer i have a mid-high range of a pc. I want to get some new games for the pc i have css and I realy like it. I heard the BF series are pretty good. the main games i play are fps's and rpg's (maybe an mmo but not realy sure). Also Iv'e heard alot about stalker. Um so ya just give a few games or something:D.mattpunkgd

Hey man, good choice... PC gaming is one of the best gaming platforms out there...imo. Some good games to look for are:

Battlefield 2
Battlefield 1942
Battlefield 2142
Steam Games
Counter-Strike 1.6
Day of Defeat 1.6
Counter-Strike: Source
Day of Defreat: Source
Half-Life 1
Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2: Episode 1
Half-Life 2: Death Match
Team Fortress ****cs
F.E.A.R.
Bioshock (need a good PC though)
StarCraft
StarCraft: Brood War
Command and Conquer
Command and Conquer Tiberium Sun
Command and Conquer 3
Command and Conquer Renegade
Command and Conquer Red Alert
Command and Conquer Red Alert 2
Company of Heroes
Halo 1
Halo 2
Doom 3
Far Cry
Duex Ex or whatever
Rainbox Six 3: Raven Shield
Rainbow Six Vegas (Need a good PC though)
Oblivion (Need a good PC though)
Unreal
Unreal 2
Unreal Touriment
Unreal Touriment 2004
Quake 3
Quake 4

Supreme Commander
Grand Theft Auto Vice City
Grand Theft Auto San Andreas
Mafia
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Anyways, those are some of the greatest games of all time. I wouldn't go with any of that WoW crap or any other game like that (unless you like those games of corse). A lot of the gaming communties today started with many of these games, especially Counter-Strike and Unreal Touriment..... anyways man, game away.
