Something different....ok, ok, it is a list. Everyone likes list.

I thought I would do something a bit different. I was sitting thinking of all the games that I have played and loved over the years, and that is when I decided to make a list of my top 10 favorite games of all time. All of these games inspired me in some way or form.

10. Super Mario Brothers 3
This was one of my first favorite games. I pretty much loved almost everything about it. Each world has something new, and there were so many secrets. Of course I was young so I had the strategy guide to help me out, but me beating it was all me. I just love the fact that it was really my brothers and he didn't really care for it too much, so basically it became mine.

9. Rise of Triad
This one is a little weird because it goes against everything that I believe should go into a list of any kind. This game was given to me as a demo, but it was a very long demo. I believe it had over six levels to play. This was my first, First Person Shooter, and not my last. I still remember the graphics, they were sort of like the original Doom only a little better. One of the cool things about this game was it had a nuclear bomb gun in it and a few other guns that would make Halo jealous. I played this game straight through twice in hard mode one day, making it one of the longest times I have played a game, 14 hours.

8. Super Mario World
The first game I played when I got my first SNES. Beat it in two days and by far one of the most memorable moments in my gaming life. My brother was jealous at first with his Sega, so that is why he traded the Sega for my SNES about a year after beating Super Mario World. But that was ok, even though I missed my SNES from time to time I still had the last laugh with Mortal Kombat 2.

7. Metroid
Me and my brother stayed up trying to beat this game when we first got it. Too bad we had no luck. We got to what we thought was the last boss, but wasn't sure of course. One of the hardest games we had ever played. After try after try after try we still couldn't beat it, and what a shame, it was due at the game store before we could beat it.

6. Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine
This game took me a little over three days to finish. For some reason this game has a small place in my heart and I will never forget it. Even though the new one for Xbox has better graphics, the Infernal Machine kills it in game play alone. I loved every level, every little aspect of this game, and the coolness of the last board.

5. Halo
I know most people will hold this higher in their list, but I am not like other people. One of the longest games I have ever played and one of the most enjoyable. At first I didn't feel the magic, but after the second level I saw myself not taking breaks and actually not eating or sleeping, just to get to the next level. Some of the greatest graphics for a console at the time. I only had one beef with this game, that long ass level where your in the sewer or something and you have to fight off a ton of the flood, I hated that board with a passion.

4. Manhunt
The sickest game I have ever played. It was more of a mix between a stealth game and the movie the Running Man. This game brought a new innovation to killing someone in a video game. I didn't get this game at first, thought it was a poor attempt to reach audiences, I still think some of that is true but when I finally got the game I was loving every minute. Couldn't get the feel for it until after the third level but when I did, I was the master at getting to the red level every time. And the pig man, what a nice touch.

3. Resident Evil 4
So many great games recently, I guess the developers finally got the right idea about how to make a great game. I wasn't a big fan of the Resident Evil series, don't get me wrong I really wanted to be but couldn't get used to the fixed camera angles. I wasn't going to even get RE4 if someone hadn't mentioned the new camera system. I wanted this game to be longer, but you can have everything you want in life. If this series continues with that camera system then I am a fan for life.

2. Grand Theft Auto 3
Ahh, number two in my list. I have been a GTA fan since number one with the camera looking down on the city. I love things new, and this was no exception. There is just something about stealing a car and then running over the owner of the vehicle that for some reason became funny in a game. Each addition to the new series of GTA has been one huge hit after the other. Number three introduced itself, and most of us excepted with open arms. Grand Theft Auto 3 holds the record for the longest I have played a game without stopping to eat or sleep. I played GTA 3 for 26 hours straight. I know, I know, I have no life. GTA has been one of the few games that I can just pop in one day and start playing, no matter how old it is or how many times I play it GTA 3 will never get old.

1. Kingdom Hearts
Kingdom Hearts took my breath away. Everything about this game was great. I never had a bad time, well unless you count me getting lost in one of the boards. The story was amazing, and I am not really a big fan of Disney but this game makes you want to become a Disney fan. This game holds my second record of longest time being played at one time, 16 hours. Even though I beat this game recently, it is still the best game I have ever played. I don't think I have every been this excited to wait for a sequel in my entire life. I only wish they would have made Chain of Memories for the PS2.

Well that was my list. Hope whoever, if anyone, read it enjoyed. I know I enjoyed writing it. Maybe next time I will make a list of the worst games that I have ever played and the record set by how little I played them.
