Spongemario Blog

Wow...sure has been a while.

I can only wonder how many of you will read this...?

Anyway. I have recently completed my second year of college. I guess a lot has changed in the past year and a half. I'm single again, my gaming and movie tastes have changed, etc etc. For example, my favorite movies now include The Room, The Big Lebowski, Repo! The Genetic Opera, and Aladdin.

I picked up a blu-ray player back during last year's Black Friday. It's shiny, lol.

Been playing quite a bit of Star Trek Online, GTA 4 and Halo: Reach a lot.

I am SUPER excited for the release of Duke Nukem Forever. Paid off my pre-order for the Balls of Steel edition months ago. Just one week remaining.

I recently changed my Xbox Gamertag to Lt Tommy Wiseau because The Room is an amazing movie and will change your life. lol

Um...I guess if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask...

Okay, now that was a long hiatus! A LOT of new stuff to talk about!

Man oh man, for the longest while I thought I had nothing to blog about...and here, all of a sudden, I feel like blogging again! :D

This time I won't force anyone to read through everything, instead I'll provide a handy-dandy contents list and you can read what you want. XD

-School updates n' stuff
-Tenacious D Addiction
-iPod Touch, or, the New Gadget That Completely Changed My Life (okay, not entirely XD)
-Movie Buyout Extravaganza
-Xbox 360 Gaming - The Orange Box, Brutal Legend, Left 4 Dead, and more!
-Upcoming Games I Seriously Want
-The New Lady in My Life

And So It Begins..

I. School updates n' stuff
So here I am now, about a month into my Spring 2010 term done. Right now I'm just taking more math, more Spanish, more English, and more ROTC. Opened up my schedule a bit to better balance out time between studying and playing games and such. Also, I got an on-campus job: as a dishwasher! I'm probably the only one who could ever be excited to be a dishwasher. Also also, this is my first real job ever, so I have to be excited anyway. XD
I wish I could say more about school, but it's really the same-old, same-old! And I'm still lovin' it!

II. Tenacious D Addiction
The title speaks for itself. I'm totally addicted to Tenacious D. It all started back in early December when my buddy suggested I pick up "Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny." I had no idea that Tenacious D was actually the greatest band in the world in disguise, all I knew that Jack Black was involved and that was all I needed. You can thank Brutal Legend for my Jack Black addiction. Anyway, so I watched the Pick of Destiny movie, and my addiction spiraled up from there. I was, to put it simply, hooked. From there, I picked up Tenacious D's first album and probably listened to the whole thing two or three times over that night. I was blown away. School comes around again in early February, and my girlfriend (new one!) proceeds to get me the Deluxe Edition of the Pick of Destiny album, which, awesomely enough, includes a replica Pick of Destiny. I now carry that thing in my pocket everywhere I go. Eh, why not, right? And finally, I recently got myself both of the Complete Masterworks DVDs. I've only got around to watching a couple of the TV show episodes, but this pretty much solidifies my fandom for the D. Can't wait until they come out with their third album this year...allegedly...lol

III. iPod Touch, or, the New Gadget That Completely Changed My Life (okay, not entirely XD)
You read the title correctly. I got myself a glorious iPod Touch, 32GB. I adore this thing. Maybe because I'm such a gadget freak, I dunno. I've already managed to fill half the space with the music and digital-copy movies I have, and every day I can't get enough of it. Now, if Joystiq came out with an app of their own, then it would be perfect, lol. I miss my PSP, but my iPod has far much more space on it for music. Also, movies and apps. Hooray. heh

IV. Movie Buyout Extravaganza
I've bought a ton (seriously, a ton) of new and used movies lately, so I'll provide a list of them with my thoughts attached. This list may possibly see some edits every now and then, what with me trying to remember each and every single new movie I got. Here we go~
-Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny - One of my favorite movies ever, heh
-Tenacious D: The Complete Master Works 1/2 - Haven't watched most of it, but I love 'em already
-Halo Legends 2-disc Special Edition - Haven't watched it yet (SHOCKING, I KNOW)
-Jackass Number Two unrated - ...lol. XD this is too sickeningly funny
-Resident Evil Degeneration - Haven't watched it yet
-Zombieland - Quality movie. Very, very funny. Very entertaining to watch. Bill Murray.
-Shaun of the Dead - Another quality movie. :D
-Friday the 13th (the reboot) - Haven't watched it yet
-Doom Unrated Extended - Haven't watched it yet. Was completely unaware that New Dr. McCoy (Karl Urban) has a major role in this movie. I'm so excited to watch it now, lol
-Conan the Barbarian/Destroyer - Haven't watched either yet.
-The Best of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show - Lol, childhood. Sad that it doesn't include any of the live-action sequences.
-Galaxy Quest Deluxe Edition - Finally found it on DVD! Hilarious and hilarious.
-Blades of Glory - Three bucks well spent. Very well spent.
-Reno 911: Miami Unrated - Funny in a Jackass kind of way. lol
-School of Rock - Got this because of my Jack Black addiction. Not regretting this one bit.
-Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus - I'm not kidding. 2009's worst movie, and I got it to see how bad it really is. Haven't seen it yet.
-Princess of Mars - The Asylum's take on my favorite book. It's decent, and it holds me over until Pixar gets their butts in gear for the REAL John Carter of Mars movie.
-Family Guy: Something, Something, Something Dark Side - OH DEAR. Much funnier than the first Family Guy Star Wars episode!!!
-Monty Python's The Meaning of Life HD DVD - Why HD DVD? Because I still have a working HD DVD player and no Blu-ray player and I got the movie for sixty-three cents, that's why. XD
-Tales from the Crypt Presents: Ritual - The abandoned third movie of the Tales from the Crypt franchise. It's...decent.
-Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince special edition - This is the Target-exclusive awesome-case edition. Amazing stuff all around.
-Jurassic Park/The Lost World Deluxe Edition - There was no way I was gonna pass this up. Widescreen Collector's Editions of Jurassic Park and The Lost World, both of their soundtracks, production photos, film cells, etc. for - wait for it - $25. Amazing deal if you ask me.

I think that's it. Seriously. XD

V. Xbox 360 Gaming - The Orange Box, Brutal Legend, Left 4 Dead, and more!
Most of the games I play are on the Xbox 360 these days...and my iPod I suppose...I think I'll do another list, heh.
-Brutal Legend - Played it, beat it, loved every minute of it. The reason behind my Jack Black/Tenacious D addiction.
-Left 4 Dead - This game, and its sequel, are games I could play over and over again and possibly not get bored.
-Halo - Working on getting my Halo 3 rank up to Field Major. Because I can, that's why. heh. Also, I'd really appreciate any help in getting two Vidmaster Achievements in ODST, Endure and Deja Vu! I almost got Deja Vu once but one of the players decided to bail 3/4ths of the way through.
-The Orange Box - I plunked the cash down for it and WOW was it a good deal. I absolutely adore Portal, I'm speechless about it. I think Half-Life 2 is a great game, and I can understand that at the time how it was regarded as "zomg best game evar," but I'm not quite so willing to go that far. Can't wait to try Team Fortress 2.
-Star Trek Legacy - I finally, FINALLY, got around to beating it. The fan service that made the game satisfies me greatly.
-New Super Mario Bros. - Wait, what? This isn't an Xbox 360 game!! Well...it was the video game I got for Christmas and just had to mention it. My family got itself a new Wii to replace the old one (angry comments below), and they got me NSMBW to play. Ahh, gaming bliss~
My Xbox 360 is currently at home, because my parents felt I'd have an easier time managing college without it. Well, here I am now, managing the heck out of school, and I really miss my video games, heh. Also, about the Wii. The old, broken one mysteriously vanished (meaning I think my older sister is hiding it somewhere until the basement gets cleaned), and my family bought a new one just for the heck of it. I don't think the old Wii was simply thrown out, because the GameCube vanished as well. Hrg...anyway, I'm hoping to get my Xbox back soon.

VI. Upcoming Games I Seriously Want
More list time!
-Halo: Reach - OHMYGAWD I MUST HAVE THIS AND I MUST HAVE THIS NOW. XD
-The Force Unleashed II - I'm figuring out how where this would fit in Starkiller's timeline, but I'm still excited nonetheless.
-Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 - ... DO WANT AND DO WANT NOW. Especially if the voice cast returns, which seems likely based on that teaser trailer...
-Dead Rising 2 - Ehehee, more zombie slaughter please!
-Duke Nukem Forever - No, I'm not kidding. Yes, I know it'll never come out. But I still want it. XD
-Duke Nukem: Critical Mass - Okay, this was supposed to have come out months ago - the website still claims a release date of Fall 2009! Well, where is it and when can I play it? Heh.
-Metroid: Other M - I'm more excited about this than I have been before. The dual First-Person Shooter / Third-Person Adventure shenanigans look like they'll flow together well.
-Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Well, if you scroll down enough, you'll see how much I enjoyed the first Super Mario Galaxy. Nintendo, let's see you make it happen again!
-New Zelda Wii - It's new, it's Zelda, and I'm gonna buy it. 'Nuff said.

VII. The New Lady in My Life
Mhmm. New girlfriend. Well, new as in, new one day after I made my previous blog post. (End of November). We've been dating ever since and I simply adore her. She's also prone to buying me a lot of things - namely, the Harry Potter 6 deluxe edition I mentioned above, the Deluxe Edition Tenacious D Pick of Destiny album, even a 2009 USS Enterprise toy. Yeah, she spoils me a lot, but only because she says she adores me as well. I believe it. XD

Life's good to me. That's all for now. ^^

200 Games! And other general updates

Yup yup yup!!! I've finally hit the big 2-0-0!

I don't remember what all I bought since Batman and L4D, so bear with me. XD

Basically, I'm declaring Left 4 Dead 2 as my 200th game. :D

But I also got Brutal Legend and downloaded Star Trek D-A-C. keh.

Let's see here...well, I took advantage of Best Buy's Black Friday doorbuster sales this morning and picked up both L4D2 and Brutal Legend for $35 each. Excellent. While I was at it, I got Simpsons Season 12 and Family Guy Vol 7 for $15 each. Excellent. The only problem here is...seeing as I'm spending this weekend at home, I can't play my new games til I'm back at school! :P

I downloaded Star Trek D-A-C kind of on a whim...and in my opinion it's not that bad. But just to be fair, I'm probably the only one who actually enjoys it, lol.
I don't think I really mentioned this yet, but, I adore Left 4 Dead. I just find it that fun. @_@;

I've also been buying a ton of movies and stuff lately...namely Star Trek (2009) Steelbook edition, Dragon Ball Z seasons 3 and 6 (the Freeza and Cell Games sagas), Galaxy Quest, Star Trek Picard Movie Collection, Star Trek Alternate Realities box set, Forrest Gump....yeah, movies n' box sets. It's good to be a nerd!

College life is awesome. So many girls~!
(oh, btw, I broke up with my girlfriend last month. I won't go into the details but take comfort in knowing I am so much better off without her ^_^)
ROTC is as amazing as ever. I can't wait til I graduate and enter active duty...but they say college is the best experience of your life so I'll take the time to enjoy it first XD
The only downside is the homework. Lots and lots of homework. And I mean LOTS and lots of homework. But, I manage. It's all good.

Life's basically been a steady routine for me; PT, shower, c-lasses, homework, video games and/or movies, homework, sleep, repeat. I guess I can't complain much on that. ^_^

Ummmmmm...

Hope everybody had a Happy Thanksgiving and a Happy Black Friday! I know I did. :D
My sister might have been traumatized. She's a vegetarian and my dad decided to chase her with the frozen turkey. ^___^;;

That's all for now!

College, zombies, caped crusaders, the usual

Figured I should probably stop by again for another blog update :D

So I just finished my first week at college. It is wayyyyyyy different than high school, especially the homework. @_@

Just a fair warning.

I kind of like my math class (Calculus with Review), because my instructor is energetic and makes it easier to understand. I still have no idea what's going on with Sociology, but I'm trying to get interested in it! I'm just having a bit of a hard time understanding it. :D
English is fun. I only have that (and Spanish) on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I've only had one day at that. Spanish is....well, very hard, to be quite honest. I have a very hard time trying to listen to Spanish being said (it always seems like instructors say stuff way too fast). I'm currently in SPAN-112, but I might fall back to 111 for the sake of learning how to comprehend when it's being told to me. I'm a visual learner, not an audio learner. @_@
Dorm life is awesome, just about everyone on myresidence hall floor loves Halo (especially my roommate). Heck, we have our first tournament already underway.

And needless to say, I've picked up a few games since my last blog post. :D
On the download side, I got Battlefield 1943 on XBLA. It's great as a pick-up-and-play game, provided that online is available. I die a lot, but it's still pretty fun. I also got I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES!!!1. Best dollar I've ever spent, seriously. If you have a dollar, you should have already bought that game. :P
Batman: Arkham Asylum.........NIRVANA. 'nuff said.
B: AA is nothing short of amazing. Obviously the best part about the game is its presentation, and it never faulters at all during the game. Heck, it's filled to the brim with presentation. Oh, and just about everything else in the game rocks, by the way. :D
I picked up the collector's edition for obvious reasons. While it's always going to be disappointing that the Batarang wasn't metal, it still looks nice and I'd proudly display it anyway. I think it's a bit odd that they went with a scratched-up "Batman-already-used-this-one"look but, eh. The leatherbound journal is ridiculously well-made. I love it when developers go the extra two miles for bonus content. The entire package is much larger than I thought - the width of the box vertically spans my torso. Awesome. Huge box FTW.
And most recently, Ifinally got around to picking up Left 4 Dead. Man is it great to be a gamer. :D

Ummm......lots of homework aside, I'm having fun at college.

I think that's all for now.

I suppose a new update might help? It's been quite a summer.

That's one heck of a gap between blog posts.

Lots of stuff happened over the summer...but beforeI get to the games, I'll talk about the other stuff first.
In late June,I went to Kansas City, Missouri for an international session for the organization I'm in. Got to stay at a 4-diamond hotel for a week! All expenses paid, of course. :D
In July, my girlfriend and I took a vacation to Iowa for half a week. We needed it, to say the least.
And then we basically spent every weekend in July on vacation with each other, lol
And here we are now, partway through August. Most of the rest of the summer has been cleaning and packing up for college. I don't move in until September, but the packing up is taking much longer than I thought it would.
And, of course, there's the video games.

I kind of forgot the order I got all these in, so, eh.
I picked up The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind GOTY for dirt-cheap. Have yet to start it; I'm getting a backlog here.
Picked up Star Wars: Jedi Academy for cheaper than anywhere else I can find it locally ($20), and I pretty much played that nonstop. I loved Jedi Outcast, and the addition of dual and staff lightsabers make it so much more awesome. @_@
The only thing I've really done in Perfect Dark Zero so far is local bot multiplayer matches. Should probably beat the campaign, heh.
The Banjo-Kazooie: N&B DLC is challenging. Very challenging. @_@
I got Spider-Man 3 on the 360 on a whim and as it turns out, I'm actually quite enjoying it. There was much more effort on the 360 version than the Wii version, I can say.
The latest additions consist of handheld stuffs. I got Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge for seven bucks, and it's actually really fun. I also bought a PSN card soI could FINALLY download the c-lassic MediEvil to my PSP. My only regret is that I did not do that sooner. I also bought the first Crash Bandicoot based off a friend's recommendation, and it's a satisfying old-school platformer. The rest of the prepaid money will go to either the first Spyro the Dragon because I love that game so darn much, or Gauntlet Legends if that mysteriously appears withinthe next week or two. Or, does anyone have any suggestions? I can only get a $5.99 PSone game, just so you know...unless there's a cheap PSN game that's good. Any recommendations there?
Best of all, I finally configured a network connection so I can play Halo 3 online WITHOUT A HITCH. And boy have I played! :D
I think I might have to rank up, though - I've spent a lot of time as the underdog First Lieutenant. XD
I've become quite attached to the Action Sack and Social Big Team playlists. I'm also pumped for the Living Dead playlist coming up this month. Needless to say, I love playing Halo. :D

That's pretty much been my summer. Business trips, vacations with the girlfriend, cleaning, packing, and gaming. C-lasses start in September for me. Firstyear of college...huh boy.
Also, my roommate also loves Halo 3. X3
Also also, the entire campus is wireless, plus there's Ethernet ports in every room. I'll definitely be playing a lot of Halo during college... LOL

I guess that's all for now!

Post-Post-E3 Thoughts, Onto Real Life, and other gaming-related mish-mash.

Hmm, where to start.
Well, I guess I can start off by saying that I graduated from high school back on Sunday, with high honors. Yay me. :D
The all-night party afterwards kicked butt. It opened up with a performance by an amazing impromtu comedy group, followed by a night of card games, game shows, Defender Dome (think moonbounce mixed with dodgeball), obstacle courses, NASCAN (racing on soda can-shaped go-karts), and other awesome stuff to do. Then there were the PRIZES. Sadly I didn't get anything, but people in my senior c-lass got iPod Touches, mini laptops, 19" HDTVs, and even, even, a SNUGGIE. FTW. And then the night (or would it be day by this point?) closed with a hypnotist. I have no idea how that works, it's amazing. o_o
I had a ton of fun during high school, I'mjust going to miss everyone all together in one place... *sigh*
In the fall I'm attending a rather prestigous university (although I really shouldn't give the name - what with me being an advocate of Internet safety, lulz). I suppose I can't wait, but it'll certainly hit me hard...after college I'm planning on service some time in the US Air Force as an officer (perhaps a UAV pilot?) through my college's Air Force ROTC; after that I might take up a position in the FBI. I will be studying in computer sciences, and a few people I know who have retired from the FBI says "that's what they're looking for" and they'd be more than happy to write up letters of recommendation for me. :D

So yah, E3. I'm likin' all the "hardcore" stuff Nintendo is finally pulling out (i.e. Zelda: Spirit Tracks, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2, new Zelda Wii, Metroid: Other M, etc.) I'd buy that all if my Wii were fixed...*sigh*
As for Sony, eh. I caught a glimpse of the new handheld Star Wars Battlefront game in their intro but it was never brought up. Strange. Not much else caught my attention. Not interested in PSP Go because of the UMD-less-ness of it. 16GB flash memory sounds nice, but...I likes my UMDs.
Microsoft caught my attention with a lot of things.
Halo 3: ODST is a must-buy for me (OBVIOUSLY), so will Halo: Reach be. Shadow Complex is like "What if Metroidvania were on the 360?" and looks totally awesome to me. Left 4 Dead 2 looks great, but I want to own and beat the first Left 4 Dead before getting the first one. *sigh*
Oh, and Project Natal? Blew me away. I really want to see what they can really pull off with that. I read somewhere that they got Burnout Paradise working with Natal, although unfortunately Paradise hasn't been too good to me lately. Sure, the Legendary Cars are fun to play around in, but the Stunt Runs are most definitely not. Argh.
But back to Natal. I'm really glad that it opens up possibilities for non-gamers such as my girlfriend and family to enjoy video gamin--WAIT A MINUTE. Wasn't the Wii supposed to do this?
It would have...had my Wii be working. argh. o_o
Maybe one of these days I can actually call Nintendo and see what I need to do to get that thing fixed.
BUT ANYWAY. I'm excited for Natal regardless and I can't wait to see some of the crazy things they can do.
[Editor's Note: my girlfriend and I have been together for over 15 months. Go us! :D)

Seeing as Batman: Arkham Asylum was (however unfortunately) delayed, it seems like I can pull the funds together for the collector's edition by the time it comes out, so I'm DEFINITELY going for that.
I might pick up the Ghostbusters game ifI can scrap up some monies for that too. The Halo 3: ODST "collector's pack" is a slightly higher priority, seeing as it brings in another controller for me.
On the DLC side, I think I'll be buying a bunch of DLC for Oblivion and Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts; unless Marvel vs. Capcom 2 turns out to be 800pts (which I highly doubt). I haven't actually bought anything yet, I have 960pts, so if anyone wants to make any suggestions, do so now!!!

Xbox Live and my Internet connection are actually being friendly now, so lately I've actually been able to play Halo 3 on Live, and it's AMAZING. All my local friends think I'm crazy to still be playing Halo, but I just love it.
I'm also really enjoying Star Trek Legacy. I ended up with a third copy from GameStop for some odd reason, so I'll be giving that one to my friend.
Also been playing a bit of Duke Nukem 3D every now and then. Speaking of which, while cleaning out the garage, I actually uncovered an original PC copy of Duke Nukem 3D. The disc is a bit scratched up, but I'm hoping it'll work and just be a total geek about it. I'm pretty proud of my finding. :D
Perfect Dark Zero is shockingly fun, unfortunately none of my friends like it, so it looks like I get to be playing it all alone. Oh well.

Huh. I think it seems like that's all for now...

It...it's alive! I can has Xbox 360 again!

:D

My Xbox 360 is back from repairs. :D

And since recently I got an HDMI cable...I'm gonna see how this baby works in 1080p! w00t

Also, after emailing GameStop again about my order for Star Trek: Legacy, I found out that they indeed made a mistake with the order and supplied me with a $10 coupon (earlier they gave me free overnight shipping on the order). They're really courteous, too.
Oh, and the order actually shipped today. :D
Should be getting it tomorrow or Friday...

Star Trek: Tactical Assault reminds me so much of the Star Trek: Legacy demo. So basically it's a portable ST Legacy, which is good news in my book.
If you're a Trekkie with a hankering for some above-decent Trek gaming, you might want to pick up one of the two. Or both! Both are inexpensive these days...

Well...that's really all for now. Just wanted to let you all know that I have my Xbox back. :D

It's good to be a Trekkie

Heyo. First blog post in a few weeks. I'm really starting to blog less and less...mostly because I've sort of been gaming less and less.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that my 360 is in for repairs, my Wii is dead, etc?... perhaps.

I sent my Xbox 360 in for repairs about a week ago. One of my friends who also got the E74 error said that it only took two weeks before he got his back. Let's hope I'm just as lucky.

I found out that I can use GameStop gift cards online, so my manhunts for particular games has now gotten exponentially easier. Although if someone can hook me up with any Free 2-Day Shipping codes, that would be awesome. :D
I'm gonna buy Star Trek Legacy. It's cheap enough, and I had a blast with thedemo, so being the Trekkie I am, I figured I'd buy it. So I will. :P

Speaking of Star Trek, I saw the movie and it was AWESOME. And then I saw it again and it was STILL AWESOME. I really can't wait until it comes out on DVD.

Also speaking of Star Trek,I -want- to download Star Trek D-A-C on the 360...but it's getting really negative reviews across the board and I'm getting a little worried about it. I'm hoping there isn't any buyer's remorse here...
Although, if someone wants to suggest ideas for what I could spend my remaining 960 Microsoft Points on, feel free to contribute. I'm thinking the B-K: N&B DLC and some Oblivion DLC, but a new downloadable game wouldn't be bad either. I'm open to any idea.

The beginning of warmer weather means garage sales galore. My mother got me a lot of great stuff for when I head into college next Fall. I got a nice futon (it can be either a couch or a bed), a futon chair (it can be either a chair or a bed), an awesome large cooler shaped and designed like a Pepsi can, a space heater, an HD DVD player/DVD upscaler (yes, I know HD DVD is dead...but it still upscales DVDs! And I don't think I'd be buying a Blu-ray player anytime soon...they're still expensive), Shrek3 on HD DVD, three Simpsons box sets on DVD (seasons 2, 3 and 4), and two sets of BDUs with combat boots. Awww yeah.
Although I'm a little worried because today the HD DVD player froze while playing WALL-E...and I had recently received some HDMI cables from my sister. uh oh o_o;

Things are going just fine with everything else. ^_^

That's all for now!

[update]
I've fixed my PSP's missing analog nub by replacing it with a dulled-down thumb tack, therefore I can now play PSP games again. :D
So I've decided to take up Star Wars Battlefront II as a "pick-up-and-play" deal and I've restarted MediEvil Resurrection for the umpteenth time.
Oh, and I went ahead and ordered Star Trek Legacy from GameStop's website, using a gift card. It should be arriving by the time I get my 360 back from repairs. :D

RIP Xbox 360 2008-2009, and other general news

It's been a month since I posted a blog, and I figured someone would have noticed by now...nope. o_o;

First up on the agenda is that my Xbox 360 died yesterday. No, not because of that sillyRRoD nonsense; the cause of death was the E74 error. Naturally it came as a bit of a shock, seeing as two days prior, a friend gave me a 1600pt card and the only thing I used it on so far was the Legendary Car Pack for Burnout Paradise. I planned on buying the BK: N&B DLC, as well as Banjo-Tooie and Star Trek D-A-C after buying another card, but, nope. Not anytime soon. sadface.
I'm going to send it in and hope Microsoft will pay for the repairs. I've read reports that they've extended the three-year warrenty over the E74 case, and I'm really hoping it will happen for me...
In other news, I'm officially on a manhunt for a copy of Star Trek Legacy for the 360. Played the demo and just had to buy the full game. The trick is finding a copy. o_o;

First the laptop broke (although still useable), then the Wii, and now my 360. I can't exactly afford to get everything repaired anytime soon.... *sigh*

And so I've started to go back to GameCube games, and I've even played a few online rounds of Halo PC the other day. I miss playing Halo online.

Senior year is going by way too fast. Prom is in two weeks, CAN'T WAIT.

Uhhh...out of an entire month, I guess I really don't have much else to say....hrm....

I hope my 360 gets repaired soon. ;_;

Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me...

Take me down to the Paradise City
where the grass is green
and the girls are pretty
Take me home

First things first, I'MMA 18 NOW.
HOLY CRAP, AMIRITE?

Celebrated my birthday by heading to the Mall of America (for those of you just joining with us, yes, I live in MN, ya sure you betcha), stopping by the A.C.E.S. flight simulator and payed for an hour's flight in a F-18. It was pretty spectacular, and kind of easy...I blame video games.
Then I headed to Fuddrucker's for some delicious hamburgers.

Now, as for what I actually got...some of you might have already noticed. :P

-Burnout Paradise (Xbox 360)
-250GB portable hard drive
-$20 GameStop gift card
-Wayne's World / Wayne's World 2 DVD set
-various Star Trek movies on DVD
-A "party in a box" which includes the following: $21, a twenty with a picture of the Master Chief taped over the head and the Arbiter taped over Washington, Batman valentines with the word 'valentine' crossed out and 'birthday' written in, a legitimate birthday card, a rather large tiki bobblehead, a lei, a balloon weight, an Irish rubber duck, joke glasses with popping-out eyes, a deck of used playing cards, and the entire box was lined with Pokemon cards. Aren't my friends wacky?
-Clear excitement from my girlfriend that I am now 18....oh wait. NSFW RUN AWAY ABORT ABORT END TRANSMISSION WAAAAAAAAAAAAARRGH

...ahem.
Today I promptly spend the birthday money from the boxed party. :D
Went to Half-Price Books again and got the following:
-Halo: The Fall of Reach
-Star Wars KOTOR II strategy guide (cuz I didn't feel like relying on GameFAQs for this one... >_>)
-The Simpsons First Season DVD set
-Terminator 2 special edition DVD
-Super Mario Bros. DVD (the old movie...it's so bad, it's really fracking awesome)
...all for cheap, by the way...

Yay. I's happy. :D

Anyway, considering this is a blog on a video game website, I suppose it's time to give some impressions of some video games. :D
Replaying Halo Wars' campaign, this time on Legendary. Stuck on the fourth mission, even with all the buff skulls on. Enemies can be really cheap sometimes. v_v;
Skirmish still fun as heck.
Thinking I might actually go through KOTOR II now that I have a colorful strategy guide to get me un-stuck. :D
Sometimes I start up Castle Crashers to do some level grinding. Eh, why not. It looks gorgeous in HD, by the way.
BURNOUT PARADISE! :D
It's really really fun to just drive around, andI'm finding Road Rage and Showtime events to be a blast, but as you progress in other areas of the game (i.e. racing, burning routes, marked man, etc.), it can get really frusterating. REALLY frusterating. Does anyone have any tips beyond "learn what goes where in the city?"
I've been holding off downloading the 1.7 update because I read it gets rid of the sponsor code entering screen, which means I miss out on a half-dozen 'exclusive' vehicles, plus I read the update makes Road Rage a harder, but...eh, is it worth it now? I'm a the B c-lass license, if anyone's wondering.
When I get a points card, I'll be downloading the Legendary Cars set and some other car to balance it out to 800pts used, while the other 800 will be used on the upcoming XBLA game Star Trek DAC. BECAUSE I CAN!
Overall I'm finding Paradise City blissful, not to mention gorgeous in HD...wow I love HDTV. lol.

Hey look, a meaty blog for once! :D

Oh, and for those of you who absolutely hated the Super Mario Bros. movie, don't worry. I only payed five bucks for it. :D

That's all for now!
