[QUOTE="JigglyWiggly_"] You can also run Mac on a PC... I'm not sure on the legality of the issue.RayvinAzn
As long as you have an Intel processor and specific GPU, yes. And I believe it is still illegal.

If you go the hackintosh route you can also use an amd cpu, im not sure about gpus.

Don't bother unless you're REALLY good at soldering, low-end gpus almost always need to have resistors and stuff removed, and it'll only allow you to go like 10-15% more anyways.

Don't listen to these guys. I ran it on a 6200gt. Though it may have been on ultra low and ran at 25-30fps, it was playable. A 9200 is much better than a 6200, so he'll run it easily on low.

[QUOTE="Marfoo"]I'm sure if you call them, state your case clearly, present you proof of purchase etc... they will allow you to step up.artiedeadat40

Thats what they did for me when I found out that they changed their cross-shipping rules. Did you acctually apply for a step-up since you should have been put in a waiting que for the stepup. I never had to wait that long for a stepup and I did mine in the first month after the GTX260 was out.

Yes, i did apply for a step-up and everything. I filled out all the forms, they asked me to send the proof of purchase, i did, and they never emailed me back. After a while, it just said that it had been too long.

edit: i'll try calling them, im not expecting much.

So, for the last two months, i've been waiting for the step-up notification saying i can send my 9600gt in and get a gtx260. Apparently, "too much time has elapsed".I started the program on like day 30 of 90, so this is completely their fault, because even if you start it on day 90 they say they can do it! I check my email every morning, so it's not like i missed a notification. Because they're too friggen incompetent to process the step-up in time, it's cancelled. The step-up program was really the only reason i bought an evga card, seeing as the other ones were like 10$ cheaper.

Evga? Never again, man.

intel's working on the i5, which is apparently going to be a mainstream version of the i7. And to the above poster, why would you need such a high end card for an htpc? hell, a 9500gt can play 1080p bluray quite well.

That build looks good, but personnally i'd spend less on the mobo and get a 4870.

that might just be the wattage of a specific rail, and not the total wattage.
