I've been playing my current GOTY, Returnal, and I'm really in awe at the sound effects from this game. Everything is expertly curated, from the eerie music to the sounds of the environment. It's very fitting for a horror game. That, along with the 3d audio features from the PS5 headset which really add to the immersion. In certain parts of the story you visit your old house in some kind of weird dream sequence and the sound is so creepy and reminding me of PT Trailer that I often want to take my headset off during some parts 😄. So overall, really happy with the sound in this game.

How about you, SW? What games have the best sound/sound effects?

I was coming in here to say Returnal as well, the game is excellent and sound and atmosphere is some of the best I've heard in any game

I've got RayStorm at like $200, Einhinder around the same. And for some reason Yakuza Dead Souls around $100

Socom Confrontation, WarHawk and Star Hawk, and Killzone 2 were all really good.

But the multiplayer market is SATURATED with 3rd party games, I dont think Sony really needs to focus on MP games TBH, but I would take a new Socom......even if it was just a Socom 1-3 Remake

Building games, especially as a new studio, is time consuming. God of War to five years to make with a fully staffed studio. That's pre-covid. No one should expect games to be pumped out in high numbers until at least next year.

Exactly, all the studios MS bought are at best 4 years away from releasing a game. Bethesda might release something sooner since they probably had some games cooking

If a Switch 2 or Pro doesn't come out in the next 2 years I think yes. And I'm not counting a Switch Pro with Total Switch sales IF there are exclusive Pro games on it

I mean what kind of question is this?

Just because a Sony Character isn't in SMASH means they don't have any memorable mascots?

I mean Solid Snake and Cloud are in Smash, good enough haha

@xantufrog: You know, many won't admit it, but I run into a ton of issues trying to play older and more obscure games.

I usually just google the error like in your example "MS Flight sim wants a disc to run" and then I read up on the internet if anyone else got the exact same issue and how they fixed it.

Or PCgamingwiki might have the issue listed with a fix.

Hope that helps bro :)

There's an entire sect of PC gamers that buy and put together old PC parts to make PCs from the era of games they are trying to play. Because of issues like this, AND games from long ago were made with specific hardware in mind, a lot of older games don't sound right on a modern computer, for example, because there were made for a specific sound card in mind.
