I just tried Control on my Switch and it ran flawlessly smooth. I have never seen such amazing graphics on the Switch.

I tried both the performance and graphics options and they both ran flawlessly.

I do have a 1gb unlimited connection and 5G is almost everywhere in Hong Kong and others will have a different experience. But I can certainly see how cloud gaming is the future.

Anyhow I am truly impressed with Control Ultimate Edition in Switch.

I hope more games that are well above Switch specs will arrive.

I live in the US and have 200MB fiber internet and Control ran perfectly fine on my switch, even over wifi BUT

The game DID NOT look sharp, the picture was fuzzy and it felt like watching a Netflix movie with all the artifacting in the stream. It's not comparable to playing natively on a PS4.

It's good enough to play ( I had no issues with input lag or stuttering), and if you don't have a PS4, X1, or PC it's better than nothing....i guess.

@Pedro: I think he's talking about gig size, because now developers are going to be able to have more unique assets in the world as opposed to repeated assets and textures.

But, it could be the opposite, as both Insomniac and Sucker Punch both stated that large game files are due to duplicated assets to help with load times, with an SSD you wouldn't need to duplicate anymore.

I think the best exclusives this generation were God of War and Uncharted 4, but Sony has been dropping the ball towards the end of the generation and Microsoft has been picking up speed.

Starting with the PS4 Pro, Sony has started dropping the ball. The system isn't very well designed, gets so incredibly loud at times, has no UHD disc drive to play 4k movies and doesn't even play games at a native 4k, it upscales. Compare that to the Xbox One X which is easily the most impressive system I've ever owned. It was so powerful for a console, played games in native 4k, had a 4k UHD disc drive to play 4k movies, and it ran so cool and quietly.

Add on to that the incredible value of GamePass, the recent acquisition of Bethesda, and an Xbox Series X that looks less ugly than the PS5. I have a feeling that the Xbox Series X will perform better and have better cooling than the PS5.

I see history repeating itself here. It seems like Sony is doing the same thing they did with the PS3 after the success of the PS2. They aren't really trying very hard like when they banked on the success of the PS2 and just automatically assumed it would transfer over to the PS3. I see Xbox trying much harder and trying to be much more consumer friendly.

I've always preferred PlayStation over Xbox, but not gonna lie, I think Microsoft is trying a lot harder than Sony right now and they're kinda making Sony look cheap and lazy.

However, I will say that the Xbox Series S is probably the dumbest thing I've ever seen, and I don't like the D-Pad on Xbox controllers.

How can anyone say Sony has been slacking towards the end of the gen? We just got The Last of Us 2 and Ghost of Tsushima released. Both are fantastic games to end the gen with.

And PS5 launches with Demon's Souls, Spiderman, and Rachet and Clank soon after. What games has MS released recently?

Good lord, I wish lemmings would stop fawning over GamePass....it's a service with old games

I mean, I don't think sony can buy a studio that big, but they could get the rights to Konomi's franchises to make new games with. Konmai would retain the rights so they could make their gambling machines and whatever, but Sony could make games

Just a thought

Haha, this is massive! Massive! Xbox just went for the throat! This will be a huge change to the market. Sony should be scared, TES and Fallout are two huge IP’s that are now MS exclusives.

There are two things I am curious about for this though...

1. Can MS push for a new freaking engine??? Dear lord Bethesda, your engine is old and shitty, you need a new one.

2. Are the Xbox fanboys going to as hypocritical as cows here and say this is a good thing? So many times I’ve seen Sony trashed for exclusivity and now having Bethesda go fully MS...let’s see the outcry for this.

It's a huge move for sure, but the Fallout IP is tarnished as hell right now with Fallout 76 being so bad. And the constant re-releases don't help the elder scroll's rep either

Hence GS will be quantity over quality. It will not pay for $100 million dollar game budgets, whoever thinks otherwise are pretty dumb.

Yes and No.

Until GamePass has something like 50 million plus subscribers across Xbox and PC I don't think it's going to be sustainable for Big AAA games that just came out. As it stands right now, big AAA games would lose money on GamePass.

Which makes me afraid GamePass is going to be filled with small garbage indie game filler or half baked AAA releases that will be "Updated" over time

I don't really think the technology is here yet to be able to stream games without any sacrifices (Artifacts in picture quality and lag)

Plus.....streaming is an insanely casual way to play games. I really don't see it taking off other than mobile games or quick pick up and play games. I think a lot of gamers take the hobby seriously, and a console or PC is a worthwhile investment into the hobby.......because console and PC are the best way to play to get the most out of the experience
