@i_p_daily: Sad Troll is Sad.

@louixiii: I felt a little worried with Streets of Rage 4, but that turned out awesome! I'm hoping this feels better when you actually play it, but where SOR4 from trailers at least looked like Streets of Rage, this new battle toads doesn't look like battle toads at all, more like a generic beat em up, I wish it had more of a BattleToads Arcade feel
I think you hit it pretty spot on, but really you couldn't think of more for Playstation? I don't know if it's a bad attempt at trolling or the fact that PlayStation has a shit ton of Franchises that could be it....SUCH AS

my friend, in mainstream games like bioshock infinite you only walk in straight line and elizabeth guides you. it scream i am intelligent.
while in reality Prey is actually intelligent game design for old school PC gamer.
what did you think of the combat in prey?
Game is not design for combat. its immersive sim.
think of Deus Ex and System shock.
the game is very much designed for combat. it's obviously not a straight forward run and gun, it forces you think carefully about how to approach each situation, use the environment creatively and do a lot of exploration to find neuromods and weapon upgrade packs.
but despite all that sounding good on paper i just didn't find it all that fun. there was an awkwardness to it. it lacked a fluidity in combat that something like dishonored has in droves. and the enemies just weren't that fun to play against and outwit. the enemy design and combat were the two main detractors for me. i tried a few different builds with combos of human and alien abilities but i still found it clunky and unsatisfying no matter which branches i upgraded. i was impressed by a lot of things in prey, but overall it didn't quite hit the spot
Enemy Design and how to deal with them were my biggest gripes as well, also not a lot of enemy variety.
It's a Solid AA hidden gem for sure
It's a damn good game and I think people have taken notice. It deserves all the praise it gets for sure!
It's the games, you can only rely on Halo, Gears, and Forza for so long
And the new offerings this gen have been really average at best, Like Sea of Thieves, I mean I understand Sea of Thieves is a better game now, but first impressions are everything, and being bad at launch can damage the game immensely. Which is probably why MS delayed Halo Infinite.
@Juub1990: The tweet says they are looking for people to work on Fable, IT"S NOT FOR A DIFFERENT GAME.
Good lord learn to read people.
And MS is vastly unprepared for the new generation. They are about to blow another generation
It wasn't ready, I don't care if the demo was an E3 demo, they put forth the best they had AND that was it?!
It's not ready, it needs to be delayed or they would have had an Anthem or Fallout 76 situation and it would have been the death of Halo
This. I still dont think one year is enough time, and I dont even believe it will make it in 2021.
The problems with the game are much deeper than surface level polish, and inherently baked into the design philosophy of the game. They need to just scrap this shit and start over, or hand it off to another developer. Tuck tail and migrate from Slipspace to Unreal Engine 5 if they have to. They wouldn't be the first.
Square Enix spent untold years and a fuckton of money on the Luminous engine, dropped it after one game, and switched to Unreal Engine 4. Kingdom Hearts 3 restarted development from scratch 2 or 3 times since its 2014(I believe) announcement. And it ended up being well recieved.
Most of their other first party devs are all working on Unreal Engine 5 anyways.
Unreal Engine 5 will probably help but I keep reading stories about how they outsource work and have contractors come in to work on the game, basically the game is full of Patchwork code that hardly anyone knows or can understand, a lot of it being from problems with the Engine. So unreal 5 might help
