Actually, while I agree with what you are saying, I am not sure that "hypocrisy" is the correct word...Hypocrisy is when you say one thing and do another, etc., but what is happening now seems to be more of a love for someone lost than an actual loss. Maybe people just feel bad for the way we all treated him in his final years? No one really thinks that the loss of life is something great, I hope, and so everyone feels remorseful rather than nay other emotion...

I read that the child he was accused of molesting has come forward and said it was a lie. People don't know why he is how he is, and that's why they ridiculed him.
