As stated earlier, for us gamers, its easily acceptable that games are an art form, but for me I really have to agree in part with "would really appreciate if the game development community explored the potential of the medium and make stronger and more compelling games outside what we’re doing right now.", I would only agree on this with as games need to focus more on story, moments like in Gears of War, now some will scream, its story sucks, but here are moments that are really heartfelt, like the death of Dom's wife (trying to avoid any more spoilers). And although people say people loved Braid (I haven't played it myself) I do not see using arcade style graphics, in anyway progress for any genre, a game should have good visuals, and good game play and story to be an amazing game, and in this respect many games fall short.This is why old games are really obsolete, at least to me, or games with no story get old fast, or some games with gorgeous graphics are just not as good as their graphics say(I'm looking at you Mirror's Edge). This is just me throwing my opinion out ( in n act of avoiding my homework).
