Goodbye Gamespot

The trip was a fun but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Unforunately, Gamespot is changing and not for the better. I've made sure to keep in contact with my WOTU buds so our community will remain intact despite Gamespot's best efforts to get rid of us.

To Gamespot,

Goodbye and good riddance.

Love,

2012 Gaming Summary

This is a little bit of what my gaming life was like in 2012...

  • I played 354 hours of Mass Effect which was 41% of the total hours I played (do the math with that and you'll find out how many total housrs I played :) )
  • 22% of all my Xbox Live achievements came from Skyrim
  • The most difficult achievement I earned was in Fifa 12, called National Pride - "Win an Expedition Match with all starting 11 players from same nation"
  • My heaviest month of gaming was in August
  • I most hours I spent gaming was on March 6th.
  • And Friday was my preferred week of gaming.

That's my summary. Link

My Top 10 Assassin's Creed Outfits

This is my list of the top outfits in the Assassin's Creed franchise. I've only played 1, 2, 3, Brotherhood, and Revelations so I won't including outfits from protaganists in PSVita games and the likes. So let's starts this thing...bah dum

10.Altaïr's Robes (Assassin's Creed) - The classic white. How can one go wrong wearing this in the streets of Jerusalem? Nothing as long as Altaïr doesn't spill bbq sauce or grape soda on them.

Altair's Robe

9. Raiden Outfit (Assassin's Creed Brotherhood) - I like AC and I like Metal Gear Solid...so put these together and you get this outfit in Assassin's Creed Btotherhood. And yes, it does look strange seeing this outfit in cutscenes. :P

Raiden Outfit

8.Helmschmied Drachen Armor (Assassin's Creed Brotherhood) - If Ezio is ever in need of heavy armor then this is what he would be wearing. In the game itself, this is in only black and it comes with The Da Vinci Dissapearance DLC.

Ezio's Helmschmied Drachen Armor

7. Florentine Noble Attire (Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood) - This is my nostalgia outfit of Assassin's Creed 2 b/c it is the first outfit Ezio wears before he dons his assassin's robes. Ezio was young and innocent and the templars took that away from him. Bastards!!

Ezio Noble

6. Traditional Colonial Assassin Outfit (Assassin's Creed 3) - Once a preorder DLC. now anyone can get it with the DLC that came out in December. It should be called "Badass Colonial Assassin Outfit"

Colonial Assassin Armor

5. Armor of Brutus (Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed Revelations)- I like this armor because it remind of the armor Maximus wears early on in the movie Gladiator.

Armor of Brutas

4. Aquila Uniform (Assassin's Creed 3) -Ratonhnhaké:ton AKA Connor wears this outfit when he's sailing the high seas in AC 3. He knows how to sink ships in style, that's for sure.

Aquila Uniform

3. Turkish Assassin Armor (Assassin's Creed Revelations) - A got a free code of this armor from gamespot in 2011 when this came out and it became my outfit of choice early on in Revelations. The mask just adds to the badassery and it also comes with The Lost Archives DLC

Turkish Assassin Armor

2. Armor of Ishak Pasha (Assassin's Creed Revelations) - THIS armour looks amazing on an hd television and became my new armor of choice once I unlocked it in Revelations. The mask...the mask...what can I say? the mask...

Armor of Ishak Pasha

1. Armor of Altaïr (Assassin's Creed 2 and Brotherhood) - The first time you see this armor locked up at the Auditore estate inMonteriggioni, you know Ezio has to wear it. Once you get it and start killing baddies, you start to say to yourself, "Man, these assasinations look so much cooler in this outfit.

1000th Gamespot Post

This journey was nine years in the making. I joined Gamespot in August of 2003 to get my Grand Theft Auto fix. I had no idea there was a gaming community on this site until two years ago.

I joined The Non On-Topic Union (TNOTU). At the time, I had just over 200 posts which I accumulated on individual gaming forums tied in with Gamefaqs. On a normal day in June 2010, I got an invite from a random person asking me to join a union. The first thought that came to my mind was , "When did Gamespot get gaming unions?". I must have been either oblivious or Gamespot did a horrible job promoting this awesome community (we all know the latter is the real reason). So, I join this union but I don't make my initial post until August 2010. This was my only post of the year. My next post was in March of 2011. I got interested in the union after I got a message saying union members needed to decide a new leader. Wolfman_chopper beat out RandomBeast for the position. I have been a committed member ever since.

I would also like to mention The Social Network Union. This union has died out a lot but I'd like to thank you guys for the interesting discussions. I wish you all would come back every now and then to say what's up.

Thanks to all the cool people I've met. Without you this milestone of mine would not have been met

L.A. Noire- Cars

L.A. Noire's cars are the most appealing of any game I have ever played. After a week playing this game, I honestly cannot believe any game can top the detail Team Bondi put into the cars and the authenticity of the cars they selected. I read they went to Jay Leno and used his extensive car collection for input on the cars drive in 1940s Los Angeles- a wise choice because Jay Leno is passionate about two things; jokes and cars! Additionally, the wrecks in L.A. Noire are amazing. I thought GTA IV had the greatest wrecks...L.A. Noire has you losing bumpers, losing tires, smashing windows and leaving npcs dazed and confused after I crash into their DeSoto. If my gramps were still around, he would have been impressed with the detail Team Bondi put into this game.

A++ on LA Noire's cars

Educational console games with Kinect?

Seeing how the Kinect came out a few months back and knowing the kinect uses voice recognition and motion capture; why can't there be some educational console games? Just imagine learning another language or doing math with the help of your Kinect. How about being a chemist and mixing a bunch of elements and mineral to create some cool compounds and mixtures. The realm of educational console games is possible with the help of Kinect. If any video game company can make a game of this genre that is both fun and engaging, then i imagine video games would be put in WAY MORE households.
