When I was still in my crib my parents bought me
Nintendo Entertainment System
(NES/Famicom) - I've played Contra, Mario Brother, Dunk Hunt, ect. Then moved on into Super Nintendo with all Mega Man series, Battletoads, Final Fantasy, Metal Warriors, Kirby series, Final Fight, Super Street fighter 2 Turbo, the LIST GOES ON because every friday I would rent 2 new games 365 days of the year -- for 15 years straight.
Into the 32-bit era -
Sega Saturn
was for me with Die hard Arcade, NiGHTS, Daytona USA, Virtua Fighter 2, Virtua Cop, list goes on! later on Playstation in 1996, with Twisted Metal, Battle Arena Toshinin, Soul Edge, ect. Including all Capcom ports, list goes on.
I had a
Gameboy Pocket
with a couple games, then I got a
Dreamcast
in 9/9/99 (Release date) and played on til late 2002 until I got my
PS2
.

Ramble:
Personally, I feel the Video Game market has separated gamers alike to another division (as far as PC gaming goes) I would put myself amongst the Retro gamers tag, having my favorite genres including the ever-dying Shump, 2-D Platform, 2-D Fighting, and sprite based RPG games.
