I wouldn't say I complain but I won't give Nintendo a free pass either. This is an area Nintendo is really behind the times in and I will continue to call them out until they do better. There is nothing wrong with a little criticism, especially after I paid $250 plus for a product.

For all intents and purposes it may as well be region specific matches. How many FCs do you have of people from another country?

So far I have seen nothing on the Wii that makes me believe that it is stronger than the Xbox. I'm not saying that it is weaker but if you judge it by the games so far then you have to almost agree with this MS guy. Even Galaxy ( which looks great ) doesn't really look any better than Ninja Gaiden.

Nintendo Lied about taking online seriously. THe end.

You cant say that the combination of a current lack of online support, a lackluster implementation planned for the future of online on the console, and a general bad attitude by nintendo about online play doesnt say something.

I am so tired of the little butt kissers who cant just accept that nintendo screwed some of their customers when they pretended like they would compete in the online area because they were repenting for the mistakes of the gamecube.

schu

Harsh but totally true. While I love Nintendo they are really dropping the ball here and I will continue to call them out until they do better. I don't understand how some people can defend them on this. Wether you want it or not online play is pretty much the standard now and Nintendo needs to get with the program.

Was anyone expecting this game to be good? I know I saw a score like this coming a mile away.

ill use my PC to play online. my wii was designed to get 4 or more people in the same room to play. i cant drink with people across the country like i would want to. otherwise what is the attraction to any more online capability than what is already available? to compulsively check and compare stats? doesnt seem like the life one should live.mov

Not everyone has 4 people to play with all of the time so there is no reason that online play shouldn't be an option as well. It doesn't have to be one or the other.

I love Nintendo and am also an adult. But their kiddy image is rightly deserved IMO. I don't think it has much to do with the games but with Nintendo's overly family friendly policies and marketing.

I'm actually glad no online games from 3rd parties have been released. People on these forums seem to hate most of the 3rd party games anyways. I could see adding an online gaming option to them would earn a general response of "THIS is Nintendo's online gaming? This game is horrible and therefore all future online Wii games will be horrible!" Nintendo probably wants dibs on the first online game because they'll set the bar highest for the rest. Me, I'm enjoying the games for their single player value (which most online-centered games lack), and often their multiplayer options.

Oh well, I have my own games to write anyways :P

Happy gaming!

I understand where you are coming from. But it looks just as bad if the same 3rd party games that are online on the other consoles are not on the Wii.
