Getting Back Into D3

I'm really happy to say that I am enjoying Diablo 3 much more since patch 1.07 was released.  I like many players felt disheartened when I first played through Diablo 3 and started inferno back in May to early June of last year.  I was being one-shotted like crazy in inferno on my wizard.

I must say if you haven't played D3 in a while now is the time to give it another go. Depending on how long ago you haven't played there are several new features:

  • Brawling (a type of pvp that lets players beat each up to a pulp in a no holds bar free for all area)
  • Hellfire Ring (hunt down impressive mini-boss monsters in each act to get a key and take the keys to make a portal that leads to a boss room where you face off against two bosses at the same time.  You can loot crafting materials for a Hellfire Ring from their corpses)
  • Crafting Buff (now you can buy from the auction house or find new crafting recipes from bosses or a global drop that has one set stat ie (strength, dexterity, vitality, or intelligence) and 5 other random stats)

The game feels much better balanced and has a good flow to it once you figure out your optimum monster power level for your current gear.  Plus excellent auction house gear has never been cheaper!

If you don't like the diablo series I really recommend trying out Atlantica Online.  It is a very fun free to play type of game that takes an interesting twist on the typical MMO.

Gamespot's New Website Design

I had no idea Gamespot was planning a new website design. I was visiting their site to see the latest news on video games and when the page loaded I first thought I went to IGN's site on accident. Then after looking around I saw it was indeed Gamespot.

My gut reaction was not another site design update. I've been a regular visitor of this site for many years. As you can see my account says I've been a member since November 2002 and I know I was a frequent visitor long before that.

In fact now that I think about it, Gamespot was probagly one of the first gaming sites that I read and continue to read to this day. Over the years it seems they have gone through several different designs.

I must say that overall I am pleased with the newest one. It does look very simplified with less graphics so the pages should load quicker. I see the top ten games are moved from the bottom of the page to the top right corner. I couldn't find it at first. This must be a popular design mechanic, because they have used the top ten chart for many years.

I'm sure it will take me a few days to get used to the newest version but I will as I have done many times before.

GoldenEye Wii Split Screen

Wii GoldenEye bought the other day and it's fun. I had to get this game because it brought such fond memories of split-screen multiplayer game with my brother and friends. The first time I bought my brother called me and play some split screen multiplayer.

It was fun, but I can not say it's as good as I expected. The graphics are nowhere near that good, the split screen was fun, but it got pretty boring fast as I could not add bots and only two of us playing.

Although I think the way the Golden Gun running is fun. We played it for a couple of rounds and it's always fun when you have the golden gun and start killing shot.

I do enjoy the online games, but I wish there was more opponents. Having only a maximum of ten players and some of the maps are too big the games get kind of boring if you don't see an opponent for a while.

My latest GoldenEye Wii Video.

Games I'm currently playing; BattleForge and Call of Duty 4.
