It's Almost Time to Make Decisions.

Sad face. Anyway, it's my last semester of college and I've got a tough decision ahead of me. I can either go for an internship this summer in LA/NY/Chicago and try to start on the path to becoming an editor or something or I can start looking at grad schools to further my edu-ma-cation and go for a Master's, which will lead me down the path to (most likely) teacher-dom. I really just want to be a screenwriter, so either job would suit me just fine as long as I have time to write. Internships will probably be hard, because I'm only good with writing and can edit alright (though my school taught me FCP instead of Avid... massive failboat.) Grad school will be hard too, because I'll have to take an inevitable onslaught of theory/analysis bull**** c.lasses. It will probably be hard for me to get into a good school with an assistanceship due to my low GPA (a little over a 3.0) and bad interview skills.

I'll post more thoughts on this once I've read up on every internship and my teacher sends me a list of possible universities to attend for grad school. Any advice/comments/musings are welcome in the meantime. I haven't really talked to more than a couple people about this.

Kegmastering

So, I went to a friend's party tonight and had another friend steal me a free cup. Then I went down to the keg and got a beer. Lines were long, so I figured I'd stand there for awhile. Within minutes I was being hailed as "kegmaster." "Bulls***," I said. "I have no clue what I'm doing." People kept coming. I kept pumping the keg, occasionally asking the older people what the f*** I was doing. Sometimes I would stop pumping and just watch. Here are some random quotes from my night.

Dude who took the pumping job briefly: "This f***ing knob came off."
Me: "That's why I've been tightening it for the last half hour."
Same dude: "So it's broken."
Me: "I see beer coming out."

Clueless hot chick: "Can you help me? I've never used a keg before."
Me: "I'm as clueless as you are. Press that thing."

Dude: "You the kegmaster?"
Me: "I'm the guy who's been first in line for his last six beers is what I am."
Other dude: "A**hole."

Chick: "Did you know? Rub your nose three times and then circle around your beer. The foam goes away."
I tried it.
Me: "Holy s*** You're a goddess. That or you know noses."

#10-1. Top 50 Favourite Movies.

I apologize in advance for my top ten. While I love them to death, I would imagine that every single person will be disappointed with at least my number one choice. Without further ado, I present to you my top ten.

10. 5 Centimeters Per Second (2007)

Makoto Shinkai. Most of you are probably unfamiliar with this name. He has released three projects of note. They are Voices of a Distant Star (a beautiful, teary-eyed short,) The Place Promised in Our Early Days (a very good feature-length,) and 5 Centimeters Per Second. This film is only 63 minutes long, but I still consider it to be a movie. It is, in my opinion, Shinkai's best work, as well as one of the best animated films in history. The animation is second to none. It is an absolutely gorgeous movie. It is also a heartwrenching tale about the deterioration of friendhip brought on by physical distance and time. If you have a heart, I recommend breaking it by watching this movie. I cry througout almost the entire thing. It's just that moving. I'm hoping that he is working on another project as I feel that he is one of the best new filmmakers of the last decade.

10/10

9. Aliens (1986) (Director's Cut)

The original Alien is a sci-fi/horror masterpiece. Aliens is one of those few magical sequels which surpasses the original. While keeping its sci-fi/horror roots, it adds in action/drama to a large extent. The first film has its dramatic moments, of course, but the second movie just adds so much more. The existence/death of Ripley's daughter revealed at the beginning and her eventual mothering of Newt are very touching. She also becomes one of the most iconic movie heroines in the history of cinema by the end of her adventure. Another great subplot is the overcoming of racism on her part, as she has to learn to trust the android, Bishop. There are also shots at corporate greed in the film. The marines are hilarious in this movie. They have great banter amongst one another and you come to care about quite a few of them. Surely there were rough marines in films before this, but I can't recall any of them being this badass/profane and funny at the same time. IMO we have this movie to thank for all of the awesome marine games out this generation, such as Killzone 2, Army of Two and the Gears of War series. They wouldn't be as fun without these character types.

10/10

8. The Thing (1982)

I love this movie to death. First off, Kurt Russel is one of my favourite actors, ever. I love the guy, and this is one of his sweetest roles. Also, one of the sweetest beards. This is, imo, one of the last truly scary films ever made. The creepy special effects, the tension of where/what/who the Thing is and the isolated location just come together perfectly to keep you on the edge of your seat between scares and being knocked back into them (or onto the floor depending on which way you scare) when the scares come. Watch this film today and you'll still love it. F*** CGI. This is how you do sci-fi/horror. I usually hate remakes on principal, but the original film was really old and campy, and they put maximum effort into this gem. It's the most acceptable remake of all time, bar none.

10/10

7. Daibosatsu Touge (1966) (US title is The Sword of Doom. Title is literally Great Buddha Pass or something.)

I love samurai flicks. I love high body counts. I love following bad guys. This movie receives a lot of love from me. It's beautifully shot and the main character Tatsuya Nakadai gives an outstanding performance. You may know him better as the crazy bastard with the gun in Yojimbo. I highly recommend just watching this movie about an evil samurai without knowing anything else about it. However, if you hate cliffhangers, you may be disappointed. The ending is amazing, but leaves off for two sequels which were never filmed. :'(

10/10

6. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) (Director's Cut)

What a great action movie. The sci-fi stuff is sweet too, but the action scenes are some of my all-time favourites. Some people complain about T-100 having emotions. I love the first movie and badass Arnie too, but this is a different unit, they wrote in a reason for it, and it offers non-stop hilarity throughout the picture. This is also one of the few movies with a kid on screen so often without the film deteriorating into crap. No, he's not a great actor or anything, but he did fine. Plus, I mean, Robert Patrick. Come on. It rules. The film is tense, funny, action-packed, touching at moments... what else does it need? It's not art. It's not worth as much as most of the movies on my list, but it's damned entertaining.

10/10 (Suck it, haters. :P)

5. Gojira (1954) (Godzilla. Original version. Not the American bastardization with Raymond Burr.)

Right now, some of you may be squinting at your screen and those three wonderful little words (wtf) are percolating from your mouth-hole. Shut it. This movie is a hauntingly beautiful reaction to the horrors of nuclear warfare, made by citizens of a country which was nuked twice nine years prior. Yes, the monster looks ridiculous now, but he's not onscreen all that often. The characters are interesting (Serizawa is a bamf) and the story is good. It is beautifully shot if you can forgive the sfx of the monster/city, which isn't all that hard. You may even shed some tears by the end if you have a shred of human decency. It's really that great. I love cheesy Godzilla movies, but this isn't one of them.

10/10

4. Yojimbo (1961)

Akira Kurosawa knew how it was done, and it was done with Toshiro Mifune. Seven Samurai, Yojimbo, and Sanjuro are the creme de la creme of samurai flicks. This is my personal favourite samurai movie (ronin technically) though the others are certainly close behind. This c.lassic flick follows an aging samurai who plays two rival gangs against eachother in a small village to get rid of them. You may have heard of a subpar remake called A Fistful of Dollars. Don't bother (though its sequels are another story.) This is far superior. Tatsuya Nakadai stars as a crazy bastard with a gun (which I mentioned earlier) and he's really awesome. Check it out. You can get it for a decent price packaged with the wonderful comedic prequel Sanjuro.

10/10

3. 3-Iron (2004)

Now we get to my favourite recent director, though I've only seen a few of his movies. His name is Kim Ki-Duk and he also did a disturbing film called The Bow. This film is absolutely gorgeous. This is how you do drama and romance. The film is from South Korea, yet you don't need to speak a word to understand it. Watch it without subtitles if you want, because it won't matter. The entire film is told visually. The two main characters don't even speak. It just goes to show that love can thrive without verbal communication. The movie follows a house-squatter who squats at a house he believes to be empty. An abused housewife is home, however, and they take an interest in eachother. I won't say what happens by the end, suffice to say that it's worth a watch.

10/10

2. My Man Godfrey (1936)

Screwball comedies from back in the day are almost all better than modern comedies, and this is one of the best. One of my favourite actors of all time, William Powell, portrays a "forgotten man" who meets an airheaded rich girl on a scavenger hunt. She needs him to win. He agrees to help her and she asks him to come home with her to her family's house and be their butler. Godfrey encounters many wacky situations in their household as the young girl tries to win his affections. Every minute of this movie is top-notch comedy right up til the end. I left out about half of the plot so that nothing will be spoiled for you if you haven't seen it. Check it out when you have time.

10/10

1. When Harry Met Sally... (1989)

Disappointed? I thought so. This is my favourite movie of all time. The dialogue is great and absolutely hilarious and the acting is nearly impeccable. This film doesn't fall for the rom-com trap of "they fall in love over a week" as it takes place over years and years. The only reason I can fathom for people who hate this movie is that they are afraid to admit they can enjoy a chick flick, they don't find Meg Ryan adorable (hosers) or they find Billy Crystal to be abrasive. I understand disliking Billy from some of his worse roles, but he seems like a wonderful person, and I love most of his movies. The City Slickers movies were ok, but childhood favourites of mine and Analyze This. I also love his role as the gay son in the soap opera parody SOAP from the '70s. He's a funny guy to me. I suppose he's a love 'im/hate 'im type actor like Woody Allen.

10/10

Well, sorry for that :P, and thanks for reading!

#20-11. Top 50 Favourite Movies

Forgive my extra-short talks about the movies. I lost a lot of brain cells today watching The Expendables and then wandering the IMDb forums to try and comprehend the high rating it has. Also, I'm hot and have some things to do. Sorry. :(

20. The Breakfast Club (1985)

Very few movies with few locations seem to be able to remain entertaining and original throughout. The Breakfast Club is one of those few. I love how it almost entirely takes place in a school library and brings a bunch of different character types together. Plus, Ally Sheedy's character is just godly and the principal is scary.

10/10

19. Grosse Pointe Blank (1997)

A killer soundtrack, a great premise, a wonderful cast and perfect execution make this film one of my all-time favourites. Hopefully you've seen this one. If you haven't, well... just get on it.

10/10

18. Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)

The third, and final, Indiana Jones movie was my favourite of the trilogy. Yes, Raiders is also awesome, but the interactions between Indy and his father are just wonderful. I love adventure movies, but this is really one of the only great ones. This has been one of my favourites since I was a kid. If you know other great adventures with good plots, let me know. I have trouble finding them.

10/10

17. Better Off Dead... (1985)

If you don't like stupid movies, then just skip to the next entry. If you do, then you've most likely seen this. It's one of my three favourite Cusack films (Grosse Pointe Blank and One Crazy Summer being the others) even though Cusack is ashamed to have been in this... prick . This is one of Savage Steve Holland's great movies. Well, he really only wrote two greats, both with Cusack. You may know him better as a writer of Eek! The Cat. C.lassic parts of this movie involve the K-12 (the episode of As*pen on South Park is mainly referencing Better Off Dead... Darsh,) a newspaper boy after two dollars, and a Van Halen singing burger.

10/10

16. Groundhog Day (1993)

Women hate this movie in my experience. If I ever find a girlfriend, she'd better at least fake liking this comedic gem. Parts hilarious, parts depressing and parts romantic, this movie is just fantastic. It involves an a**hole becoming stuck on Groundhog's Day and being forced to relive it for awhile
(~ 10 years for you nerds out there)
as he attempts to kill himself, find love, kill himself, get laid, kill himself,
commit robbery, kill himself, kill a groundhog, kill himself, become a master ice sculpter, kill himself, become a professional pianist, kill himself, kill himself, kill himself and find his way out of his one day rut by fixing his life.
I think I know one girl who likes this movie. It's a romantic comedy for boys and men alike.

10/10 for men.

15. Amelie (2001)

It's adorable, it's beautifully directed and it's quirky without being annoying. Yeah, I know it's another typical film-student/hipster favourite, but they don't have this one wrong. This is one of the best friends I don't own. I sense a blu-ray on a future Christmas list.

10/10

14. Wonder Boys (2000)

A college professor who previously wrote a best-selling novel can't end his novel. Meanwhile he befriends a promising young student with some issues. There is an incident and they end up hanging out and with the help of a few others get into deep s*** and try to fix their lives. Alan Tudyk has a small role as a janitor. This film stars Michael Douglas, Tobey Maguire, Robert Downey Jr., Frances McDormand and Katie Holmes' rack. (No nudity, sorry. They're just very noticeable. :P) Parts of the setup (the inciting incident) seem unnecessary, but the rest of this movie is just superb. I'm surprised it isn't more widely known. Good luck finding a DVD for it. Mine seems to be the only edition and it's OOP. :'(

9.5/10

13. RoboCop (1987)

It's a rare film that combines awesome action, insane gore (I mean, damn,) and hilarious social commentary into one neat package. Of course, there are those who don't realize it's a satire, and just think it's a sweet action movie, but they're missing too much. Movies that aren't comedies usually don't have a man shot hundreds of times into a gory mess and then have someone shout for a medic. Murphy's torturous murder (though painful to watch) is f***ing awesome looking, as is the aforementioned murder. These aren't spoilers. They happen near the beginning, plus, most of you have seen this. If you haven't then go and pick up the unrated edition. It's a great flick. I'd buy that for a dollar! Heck, I payed about $60 for the OOP Criterion DVD a few years ago. (Word of caution: I hear the blu-ray has a bad transfer.)

10/10

12. Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961)

Talk about a dream girl. I love this woman. Am I talking about Audrey Hepburn or Holly GoLightly? Well... that's up for you to decide. It's probably both though. This movie is hilarious, has one of my favourite movie lines and is just an overall great romantic comedy. It's heavy on the quirky, but I love that about it. My only issue with the film is the Yellow Face (or whatever you would call it.) Mickey Rooney plays an over-the-top Asian male. It's admittedly humorous at times, but it disturbs me a bit and is very un-PC. I subtract a point for that.

9/10

11. Pan's Labyrinth (2006)

Guillermo Del Toro is a wonderful filmmaker. This is my favourite movie of his, and I assume everybody's, as it's just amazing. The mixture of fantasy with an intense reality worked really well. Artistically it's beautiful, and chances are you've seen it and love it. I tear up for the last 5-10 minutes of this one. This is one of the few movies that I have to leave the credits rolling for to finish up crying.

10/10

I'll finish up the list tomorrow night.

#30-21. Top 50 Favourite Movies.

The list! It continues!

30. Ghost Busters (1984)

I love this movie. The three main Ghostbusters (above) are just c.lassic, lovable characters. Plus, Sigourney Weaver and Rick Moranis are godly. Everything from the first slime to the giant, puffy climax is just sublime. Despite a few slow moments, it's a great film. The sequel left quite a bit to be desired. The videogame, however, was really awesome, except for Bill Murray's phoned-in lines. Try it if you haven't. I was skeptical when I heard about it, but it's really pretty well made/written.

8.5/10

29. Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981)

I wasn't a fan of Mad Max when I first watched it. The Road Warrior on the otherhand was pure bliss. I've since come to appreciate the original for what it was, but the second still remains on top. This is how you make a post-apocalyptic film. Such a great anti-hero, a bunch of badassery everywhere, and of course, one of my favourite movie quotes, "If it's all the same to you... I'll drive that tanker." (pronounced tank-ehh)

9/10

28. This Is Spinal Tap (1984)

Of all the mockumentaries I have seen, this film stands at the top. Everything about this film is c.lassic. Even the damn DVD menu is hilarious. This follows a fake band trying to remain relevant throughout the decades. Rob Reiner definitely doesn't get enough credit for some of his great work.

11/10 (Or 10, depending on your amp.)

27. 10 Things I Hate About You (1999)

Yes. It's teenage Shakespeare. Yes, parts of it are edited in bad "teen movie" ways. No, it's not a "great" movie. Stop asking questions already! I love this movie. It was my favourite movie for at least four years after it was released. I still watch it on a yearly basis. I adore Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles. I adore Joseph Gordon Levitt. I love the s*** out of Larry Miller as Bianca's over-protective father. This movie is just so cute and fun. I absolutely love it, and it was hard to not put it further up the list.

9/10

26. The Big Lebowski (1998 )

:D Need I say more? Nobody f**** with the Jesus. Except for the next 25 movies of course. :P

10/10

25. Oldboy (2003)

The "vengeance trilogy" of Sympathy for Mr. Vengance, Oldboy and Lady Vengeance is superb. Every film is great. Oldboy, however, is the only one of them that I feel approaches perfection. It's just a really good story, and the fight scenes are so great... man... just great. South Korea truly might be the best place for films nowadays. We'll get to my favourite director from there on another list. :)

10/10

24. Clerks. (1994)

I love Kevin Smith's humour. Clerks, Clerks II, Mallrats, Dogma, and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back are some of my favourite movies. Clerks started it all though, and it may be my favourite. The irreverent conversations and accurate portrayal of mundane workplace environments paired with some great characters (namely Randall and Jay, among others) makes this one of the most important comedies of the '90s. Say what you will about Kevin Smith, but you know you love at least this movie. I dock it one point for one of the actresses being really bad.

9/10

23. Die Hard (1988 )

This is my favourite Christmas movie. People always give me odd looks when I say that. They seem to forget that the first two movies take place around the holidays. I love Bruce Willis, and John McClane is one of my favourite action heroes. If I ever get divorced, I'm not visiting my ex-wife at work. If I do decide to, however, I'm bringing an extra pair of shoes with me.

10/10

22. Batman: The Movie (1966)

This comedy is misunderstood a bit too often. Some people seem to think that this is just a bad movie and that it's meant to be taken seriously. Those people are wrong. It's supposed to be hilarious, and it is. Some of the best lines are "Confound it! The Bat-teries are dead!" and "Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!" I love Adam West and everyone else involved in this production. "What weighs six ounces, sits in a tree and is very dangerous?" ... "A sparrow with a machine gun!" I really hope the TV series hits DVD soon. I've told Amazon to e-mail me should it ever happen.

10/10

21. Shichinin no Samurai (1954) (Seven Samurai)

You've heard of this one. You've probably seen it. If not, then stop reading this and go buy it. Don't rent it. Don't look it up. Go buy it. This is one of the few movies on my list that people can't dispute. It's my second or third favourite Kurosawa film, and everything about it is great. In fact, I haven't seen it in four years or so. Time for a rewatch! :D

10/10

Look forward to the rest of my list. :)

#40-31. Top 50 Favourite Movies.

I'm a bit drunk out of the starting gate, but I'm doing another list anyways. I should wait a day between these, but... hey! I'm bored.

40. BASEketball (1998 )

Though it isn't written my Matt and Trey, this film has an insanely South Park vibe, including Garrison and Cartman's voices. It's one of the best ridiculous movies of all time. No matter how old I get, I will never be mature enough to not love this movie. Matt and Trey are such great actors in this movie that I'm surprised they haven't starred in another ridiculous romp. I suppose people just didn't like the humour? Also, Dian Bachar is tiny!

10/10

39. Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986)

This movie was a childhood favourite. I was sick quite a bit and depressed a la Cameron, yet when I wasn't really sick I was a master at hooky like Ferris. Heck, in my 8th grade year I missed 23 days. I was sick for maybe 5. The first scene of Rooney sneaking into Ferris' house is a bit stupid, but the rest of the movie is great. F*** the fourth wall. I'm with Ferris. We'll do what we want!

9/10

38. The Toxic Avenger (1986)

My mom made me return this movie when I first rented it (long ago.) She was usually lenient. I really don't blame her, though her reasoning was a bit off. A 12-year-old is brutally murdered in the movie, but a dog gets shot and she blows a gasket. (DON'T watch this movie if you're underage or easily offended. It can be disturbing. That being said, it's a hilarious superhero satire, and it comes from my favourite movie studio; the independent Troma. This movie should be NC-17 if it isn't.) Also, watch for Marisa Tomei as a cute teen. Her role is to walk into a room and scream. :)

9.5/10

37. (500) Days of Summer (2009)

This is a very good rom-com and it's very indie-friendly. You know this one though, so blah blah blah. :) I love this movie because Tom Hansen is similar to me and his relationship with Summer is unfortunately similar to a psuedo-relationship I sort've had just before it came out.

9/10

36. Evil Dead II (1987)

I'm not a big fan of the first Evil Dead aside from a few scenes. The sequel is a perfect blend of horror and comedy and one of my all time faves. Army of Darkness is really good too, but nothing by comparison. I love how the series goes from horror to horror-comedy to comedy, but I really only love the latter two. Ironically, this is the only entry in the series that I don't own.

9/10

35. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2005)

I love this movie. It's wonderfully written/directed/acted/everything-elsed. How can you not love a character named Gay Perry? If you haven't seen this, then you must!

10/10

34. American Psycho (2000)

This is a great dark satire. Unfortunately there are a few too many reviews which view it as a horror movie. God, people are stupid. Feed me a cat.

10/10

33. The Thin Man (1934)

William Powell is one of my favourite actors. This movie is great. The main plot is just slightly above average, but my god Powell and Loy's chemistry and dialogue launch it into perfection. They play a wonderful married couple and solve a mystery! Just watch it. You won't be disappointed. (You can skip the sequels though. They're just more of the same.)

9.5/10

32. Weekend At Bernie's (1989)

How epic can epic get? This epic. Two friends try to pass off their boss as being alive for a weekend. It has a poor rating on IMDb because people forgot how to laugh. It's stupid, but just too awesome to dislike.

10/10 (This film is at the extreme end of the time deadline, so allow for down to an 8.5/10)

31. The Crow (1994)

They used to say comicbook movies couldn't be good. This didn't stop until around the time Spider-Man (I think?) came out. The Crow came out in 1994 and it is amazing. The teen girl could have used a better actress, but that doesn't stop this movie from being awesome incarnate. If you haven't seen this flick, then you need to.

8.5/10 (A couple of the actors aren't great. The film is though.)

Stay tuned for the next ten. They won't come until at least tomorrow. I was just bored/drunk and continued these early.

#50-41. Top 50 Favourite Movies.

Before I start listing my top 50 movies let me mention a few of my criteria for selections:

1. I had to have seen them in the last 5 years (so that my sh**e taste in highschool didn't cross over :P)

2. Because my memory is bad and I love a lot of movies, they had all been rated by me on IMDb prior to starting the list. (So that I could have a visual aid for deletion and ordering.)

3. B-movies and cheesy movies are not included. After all, who wants to read a great movie next to Step Up 2 the Streets besides me? :D

And awaaaaaay we go!

50. Red Cliff (2008 )

First off, this is based off of the ENTIRE movie. It's almost 5 hours long and was released in two parts. I'm a huge Dynasty Warriors fan (or was. I haven't played since DW 4 or 5. The games kept getting dumbed down.) The Three Kingdoms stories interest me, but the book is too dry to read, so I get my fill through the games. I was very excited to finally see this a few months ago. If you like Zhuge Liang and Zhao Yu, then I highly recommend this war-time drama. If you watch the movie and wonder why I said "drama" then you missed at least 3 hours of the movie and got the American theatrical version or something. (Can we say import fail?) This is a really well made movie. However, some John Woo drama direction is spotty, which brings the film's overall score down.

8/10

49. Blast From the Past (1999)

I love rom-coms. Sorry fellas. :P This movie is just so well made and such a good concept that even Alicia Silverstone couldn't ruin it. Brendan Fraser did a superb job playing a man who grew up with his parents in a fallout shelter. Christopher Walken is amazing as his dad and even my beloved Nathan Fillion had a cameo. The romance takes a back seat in this comedy, so if you haven't seen it, then give it a chance.

8/10

48. The 36th Chamber of Shaolin (1978 )

This movie ties Knockabout for my favourite martial arts film. The other movie is a comedy. This one is just pure awesome for guys. It's about a man training to be a Shaolin monk and rising through their training chambers in order to ultimately take revenge, even though that's not what monks do. Just watch it if you haven't seen it and like martial arts. Starring Gordon Liu.

8.5/10

47. Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon (2006)

Occasionally misunderstood and called "too funny for horror" or "too scary for comedy" by idiots, this film isn't a horror-comedy. It's a comedy-before-horror. As far as I know, it's the only one of its kind. The film starts out innocent (well...) and funny, but takes a turn leaving all of the comedy behind and becoming a chilling experience. I recommend it for comedy fans and slasher fans alike. There's something here to love for everybody. It's a truly unique film.

10/10

46. Thank You For Smoking (2005)

You should all know this one, so why bother explaining it? It's a really good comedy.

10/10

45. Starship Troopers (1997)

Critics' heads were up their a**es with this gem. It's constantly called "gory/bug-killing fun" and berated for its "wooden acting." One critic even said it ignored "its scariest implications." Good job f***tards. It's a satire. Everyone was supposed to be wooden. Mindless drones serving a fascist empire. Guess what else satire is? C-o-m-e-d-y. It's not a war/action/sci-fi drama, though it takes place at such a time. Ignored its implications? Are you sure they weren't... the point? :P Really, this is one of the most misunderstood movies of all time.

8/10

44. The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra (2001)

A joyous, ridiculous movie modeled after '50s Sci-Fi faire. There's a link to a commercial (or scene from it. I can't remember) in my sig. "Humans? Us? Is this one of your Earth jokes?"

43. The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)

Sorry for the lack of screenshot... but the movie's almost entirely inappropriate for a censored site like this one. :P This is one of my favourite musicals. I love Tim Curry and Barry Bostwick. The story is ridiculous and nearly unintelligible. It's gay catchy fun and I love it to death.

42. Twelve Monkeys (1995)

Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt give amazing performances and everything about this movie is just great. This is one of my favourite sci-fi movies. Plus, Madeline Stowe is absolutely gorgeous. ^_^

41. My Fair Lady (1964)

I had trouble finding good screenshots for this one. This is a great musical. In my opinion it's one of the best ever made. Singin' In the Rain almost made my top 50, but My Fair Lady nudged its way in. Of course, I adore Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison is just fantastic. I highly recommend it. If you don't like musicals, then this one just might change your mind.

I'll try to do 40-31 tomorrow. Thanks for reading. Comments are more than welcome, as always.

Going Back To College

I'm heading back to SIUC for my final semester for those of you who don't know/forgot. I tend to get distracted in the dorms, antsy/agitated once I get re-addicted to cigs and run out, and I may occasionally say silly things when I'm drunk. I doubt I'll get too out of hand due to cigarettes, but felt I'd warn of the possibility all the same. I try not to take it out on others, lol.

Anyways, the point of this blog was just to warn you all of that, and to let you know that I'll probably be posting on the unions a bit less. I'll still try to get on every day or two though. I've been having fun chatting with you all.

Also, later tonight, or maybe tomorrow I'm going to start posting my top 50 films list. I've got the order all figured out and I'm relatively happy with it. I did end up leaving out b-movies and cheesy favourites though. I only counted movies which I have seen within the last 5 years and had rated between an 8 and a 10 on IMDb. (Some films are curiously missing. Apparently I forget to use it sometimes.)

All Time Greatest Game Villain Bracket

So, I was bored and filled mine out with a lot of randomness. I didn't know half of those villains. :P

I'm pretty sure that I'll be in the bottom two percent of bracketeers (I hope that's a word. :D) I have Psycho Mantis beating LeChuck (who won't even win a round in all likelihood) with 54% of the vote.

I even made Kain win a few rounds just so I could live with myself.

Sorry for the short blog, but I figured going to the forums to discuss this would sidetrack me and take up my night. I'm too busy re-watching the first season of Boston Legal.

I love Mods.

I posted a comment about wanting to go watch rednecks show up at Gamestop for Madden '11 and then somebody b****ed about me trolling. Then I admitted that I was trolling and explained why I did it to him since he asked. I also didn't say anything too offensive in this comment. It took the mods 5 hours between the two posts to moderate them, and I got points taken off (half of a level :P) for talking about myself trolling and having a conversation with somebody else. Then later they moderated the post where I actually trolled and didn't take points off.

I guess trolling is better, than conversations about trolling. D*****knockers.

Now I have to start trolling more to test out their system, so if I get banned, I'll be back at the unions with a different username. C'est la vie.
