I have a Q6600 @ 3.0GHz, 4gb RAM, Win XP and an 8800gtx. My desktop native res is 1920x1200. My motherboard does not support SLI, so getting another 8800gtx is not an option, and I don't have 4 PCI-E plugs on my PSU.

Is it worth it for me to upgrade to a GTX 280? I can sell my old GTX for about $200+ to ease the burn of the GTX 280. I'm starting to see my 8800GTX drop in performance for some of the games I play (not Crysis), I know my monitor res is stressing my system as technology pushes forward. Is the GTX 280 a good upgrade now, I know new cards will be coming all the time, but I'm looking for something for now, then use BFG/EVGA step up within 90 days if they do come out with newer cards...

Thanks for the input.

Bad move on their part, if they decide to completely remove ps2 compatibility. It takes away one of the perks of having a ps3. It's not like they have a huge selection of games to offset the lack of backward compatibility right now...or even after MGS4, Killzone 2 and FFXIII

I think it's a big mistake to take out the 80Gb, if they do, they should put backward compatibility back in the 40Gb models via a software update.

I don't know what they're thinking, but taking out BC completely is a bad idea. There isn't an incentive to get the ps3 for potential buyers if they do that. It's not like they have the game library to justify the lack of BC right now, or even after MGS4 and FFXIII....

My buddies and I are looking to play some co-op games online. We're looking for RPGS that you can play co-op without being an MMO or a shooter or action game that has 3-4 player co-op. Any suggestions? Thanks.

WoW is a very good game. I had some really good times and memories playing that game. It's even better if you have friends that play with you with whom you can go do quests together with. It is very easy to get sucked in, you do get 1 month free for buying to the game, so you can try that and see if you like it. Ultimately, your greatest enemy in WoW is yourself. You just have to fight urges to get one more level, one more armor piece, one more instance...etc. As far as MMORPGs go, this one is really streamlined, polished and fun. As far as the community goes, just remember, you can attract bees easier with honey than with vinegar.
