What makes a gamer a proud fan? Is it the fact that they play the game, or that they play it 24/7.
To me, a gamer is a proud fan when they take pride in supporting and upholding the legacy of their favorite franchises. This is the case with myself and Sonic and Mortal Kombat.
When I first beat Sonic Adventure 2, I cried at Shadow's supposed death. Sure I was nine, but now I see it as being a die hard fan. So what if I was crying about a virtual character? At least I care! XD
When Ed Boon announced that Armageddon would be the last in the current-gen of Mortal Kombat, I vented and felt a little depressed liek many other MK fans. We were used to Scorpion, Sub-Zero and the other fighters that made their mark in MK history. However, we don't have to worry about that with MK vs. DC.
Take pride in your games. Don't be afraid or embarrassed to take drastic measures. It's ok to feel emotionally attached to a character or play style. It's called being a fan and true fans love their series and never back down, no matter what score the reviewers give.
