Thanks for making that point, PikaPichu.  I agree completely.  Write to EA and tell them the multiplayer in On Tour and Blur blows chunks and they need to revise it if they want to keep their customers happy.  I did!

I loved the SSX franchise.  It was my favorite franchise ever... until they released SSX On Tour.  Because of the way multiplayer is implemented in both On Tour and Blur I do not like to play either of them.  It is frustrating to me as an SSX fan.  I sincerely hope they change the way they implement multiplayer for the next game.  My object is to raise awareness of what I perceive to be a fatal flaw in the game.  If you don't ever play SSX in multiplayer mode then continue in your blissful unawareness to enjoy the game.  But certainly, you must agree that there are a large number of people who want multiplayer or EA wouldn't add it in the first place.  To these people: let EA know their multiplayer implementation is inadequate.  I find it very difficult to believe that they themselves can make claims as to adequacy for this inept implementation.  It is ludicrous.

Did anyone notice that multiplayer in SSX On Tour was implemented terribly?  When racing against a friend, if you get too far ahead of your competition, the game automatically brings your competitor forward to your current position.  This defeats the very purpose of multiplayer.

SSX Blur has implemented the very same "feature" in SSX Blur.  If you get more then 300 feet ahead of your competition, they are automatically brought forward to your position.  I asked EA about this and wondered whether it was a feature that could be turned off.  Their response is "It is not something that can be turned off. The reason for this is because the game is part of EA Sports Big, wherein it is more of a fantastical sport then a simulation."  The problems with this explanation are:

A)  So what?  If it's a fantastical sport you can't race somebody fairly?  This makes no sense.

B) The first 3 SSX titles were all part of EA Sports Big and were not affected by this.

Do not buy SSX Blur.  Let EA know that if they want us to buy their games they need to be acceptable at the very least.  A racing game without racing is simply not acceptable.
