Well, my question now is should I go buy a standard AV cable or am I wasting my time?

Ok, so I went and got video cables but I got componet video cables. I'm wondering if I should have gotten regular AV cables. Anyway, its still doing the same thing on both tv's. Is the video just going out on PS3's something that happens regularly? There are no yellow lights or flashing red lights. The sound still works, and I've held down the power button when it is red until it beeps twice on multiple occasions.
Any advice? Time to make a pinata out of it?
Hey everybody, I have a 40GB PS3 that I got off of Ebay about a year ago that has worked fine until last night. I left it on, and the screen was frozen (netflix) which I thought was odd so I ended up having to turn it off on the back and restart it. Well, I heard the PS3 song but got no video. I am using an HDMI cable, and the system came with no other cables. I tried resetting the video by holding down on the power button for 5 seconds like everybody says and when I switch the input to my LCD monitor it recognizes that there is an HDMI cable (sound is heard) and the video changes every 10 seconds from a black screen to a lighter dark grey screen. My question is, when I reset the video settings does that disable the HDMI port until it is selected again in the XMB? Or should it still work with HDMI even after the 5 second reset?
I am thinking about going to walmart tonight and buying the regular video cable to see if I can get ANY video. I did try the PS3 on another HDMI cable both on the monitor I am using and my bigger HDTV in the other room and it did the same thing, so it doesn't seem to be the monitor or cable that I have been using.
Anybody have any answers or suggestions for me? Does it look my HDMI port maybe shot? Actually, I'll probably wait until the morning to go get the regular PS3 video cable so any input tonight would be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Is it legal to put a PSP GO on Ebay with Gran Turismo and Madden 2010 on it already? I know Ipods aren't allowed to be sold with songs on them, wondered if this applied here as well. Thanks!
[QUOTE="Stockdogg2003"]Has anyone tried to wrap it towels to get it hot or take it apart and use hot gun to warm the bad solder job that MS did?? I've read where this works wonders for some with the 3 red rings. I'm gonna at least wrap it in towels then leave it on for about 30 minutes. Mine went from yesterday freezing after 30 minutes of nba 2k7 to freezing after 5 minyutes to eventually today 3 red lights everytime. Mine was purchased on the first day they came out 11/19/2005 or whatever, so I'm sure my warranty is up.Diablo2343
No, they will fix any 360 that was made before 2006. Call them up, they will send you a box to send in for repairs. Then they will give you a warranty good thru 12/07 with the option of buying another year warranty for like $50.
I will call them and have them send me a box just in case (thanks!) BUT I'M TELLING YOU GUYS-THE TOWEL THING IS WORKING!! (at least for the past 6 hours of playing non stop!!) NO FREEZES, NO RED LIGHTS!!
