Temple Run 2 Review

So this week i have decided to write a video game review on Temple Run 2, this is my first VG Review, so hopefully id doesn't suck too much. So where to start on Temple Run 2, the highly anticipated sequel to Temple Run and Temple Run: Brave by Imangi Studios? Let's start at the beginning with straight off the bat , a long loading time (the first time I load the game anyway). From there the game pretty much throws you straight into the action. Following a brief tutorial on controls, you're pretty much set to enjoy the rest of the game, until you die anyway. The new obstacles are challenging and varied from jumping spiked logs, avoiding raging rivers and turning sharp corners so that you don't end up falling to your death. The Power-ups/abilities that are present in this game are pretty much present from the get go but without any explanation as to what they do, it takes a couple of play-throughs to figure out what they all do. There's a particular ability that looks like a giant gold coin with the Imangi Studios-esque logo printed on them, I didn't know what this did until my 12th go at running this obstacle course. My overall opinion of this game is that it excels in bringing something new to the table with it's faster pace and new challenges but is lacking in the ability to inform the gamer of what's happening especially when your trying not to run off a cliff edge and focusing on what this certain power-up will do.
