There are cheats but you don't put them in like on previous GTA games.

You type a number into the cell phone, and it activates the cheat, you can then access it on the cell phone through the cheats sub-menu.

If it's flickering for minutes, something is wrong.

If it's a few seconds, it's probably just your TV changing HD modes 720p/1080p/1080i. Mine does this when going from XMB (1080i) to games (720p).

actually i think i heard they dont hold up well to scratches, because the information is closer to the bottom surface (and remember MGS4 is Dual layered) than on normal discs, i could be wrong tho.FstBrk342

It is closer to the surface, however it's protected well.

I was planning on getting some PS3 games, and was considering COD4. I like what I saw, but there are some things that concerns me:

I hear the single player story is really short. How short is it?Is the game still being played online? If it is, what is the level of online gamers still playing it? I don't want to jump into a game where everybody I play with is miles ahead of me and I have to learn the little gameplay details while trying not to die.Does it has ranked games? How well does it works?

That is my biggest concern, to feel frustrated of begining as a noob playing against experienced players because the game was released almost a year ago...

And, please, don't give me all that "forget COD4, get MGS4 instead" or "forget COD4, get GTA4 instead"... I have GTA4, and will get MGS, but I am planning on getting some other game as well since importing several titles at once is cheaper than do it one at the time...

Thanks

I recently bought a PS3 myself, and CoD4 was one of the games that I got with it, I highly recomment it. To answer your questions.

There are around 20 missions. Which may sound like a small number, however the missions are generally quite long.

Plenty of people still play online, including lower ranked people. The online gameplay is fun. When you start you're rank 1 with basic weapons and equipment, as you rank up by killing people, completing challenges, capturing bases etc. in the various game modes (13 game modes), you unlock new weapons, perks and challenges. All matches increase your experience points, and give you higher ranks.

It's just the TV switching between HD modes 720p/1080p/1080i.
