EA is changing their ways though. They came out and said they were going to adjust their work environments, give developers more creative freedom, and generally put more time and money into their games. They sold some profitable but mediocre IPs. And really, it shows - it's an improved EA, and they did it because we persistently told them we wanted them to. So we should pat ourselves on the back, but also give them credit for their recent efforts.

Far Cry 2, even though I'm skeptical that it will be able to keep up with Crysis. Both in visuals and gameplay, and maybe even narrative. That game just blew me away.
It will be very interesting what a different studio does with the Far Cry formula though. It could be great.
Horrible gameplay. The second worst game I have ever played.
I recommened that you don't buy this game, you should just spend the $20 on a bunch of paper, trust me, it will be more exciting than crysis.

I think it's silly to make a statement like that, and give no support to your argument when it disagrees so heavily with the general consensus on the game. For me (and for what it's worth, I completed the entire game), it was the most action-packed, intense, and generally satisfying shooters I have played in some time. The nano-suit was a perfect addition to the sandbox action established in FarCry, and the sci-fi narrative and fiction was actually really interesting, unlike the flat effort of FarCry.
A little uneven I would say. That video card is going to slow you down and create a pretty significant bottleneck. 4 GB RAM is just silly, even 3 GB will be unnecessary until maybe the end of the year, so it would have been wiser to get 2 GB RAM and get a better video card. It's really easy to buy another stick of RAM, but getting a new video card is a major investment and consideration.
Nice Quad though, that will keep you top-notch for a couple years I'd say. Hopefully your mobo can SLI, that will make your video card shortcomings easier to get out of. Still a great system, seems like it should run Crysis on high if your video card doesn't hold you back too much.
Ugh, it seems like I'm always wishing I had gotten a 512MB 8800GTS instead of the 320MB. You live and you learn. It's still a great card, and by the time SC2 does come out, I'll probably be SLIing another GTS or something. Playing Crysis got me in the PC mood again when I was pleasantly surprised how well I could run it... (let's just hope the PC industry stays afloat now)
I agree, losing Ocampo leaves little to no credibility to the editorial staff. It sure has been downhill since Greg Kasavin left last year, huh? Greg Kasavin, Ryan Davis, and Jason Ocampo were ever really the only guys I care for much, and they're all gone. It looks like I'm not alone in still being here just for the community features.
