You might want to take into account of how huge the scale is for these games. One of the greatest things about playing GTA games are if you can see it from a distance, you can go there. Of course it's not the best graphics if you put it next to Call of Duty 4 or Gears of War, but GTA does a good job considering the how large the world is.

they need more games to work on a mac cause modern pcs are just too complex (not to mention expensive) and windows vista slows everything down.

I think you should mention Beyond Good and Evil. I think anyone who has appreciation for quality gammes would love it. Last time I saw it on the shelf it was 14.99

I'd have to say No One Lives Forever 2 is a great PC game that doesn't require much for today's standard.
