General Download

->Product: Notebook

->Series: G2 Series

->Model: G2P

I hope, for your sake, that you have the 32-bit OS, because the 64-bit doesn't have any display drivers listed. The 32-bit however does.

The driver is in the "VGA" section.

Hi Make sure you have your CPU 4 pin power plug

plugged in. It's in the upper left corner of the motherboard.

System won't boot without it plugged in.

Beat me to it. Check if you have a 4 pin or an 8 pin connector as well, depends on your PSU (Mine only had a 8 pin connector)

Why do stores like newegg offer the two windows vista oem OS product for different prices? The sys. builder one is 90$ and the identical regular version for joe shmoe is 190$! What kind of malarky is this? What is to stop everyone from just buying the system builders edition rather then the more expensive version? Is it because basically the sys. builder one is for one computer with multiple reinstallations on that one and the other is for maybe two computers? Anyone know why this is?

supplemental question:

On the side, i was going to reformat a computer i bought used and install new OS. When i do this, i assume the system will boot fine and read the HD in Raid-0(?) setup and i wont have to do anything more technical then adjusting a few things in bios and installing the hardware drivers correct? Thanks.

Montaya

Absolutely nothing stops people from buying the SBE. The SBE is tied to your hardware when you activate it, therefore, you essentially cannot upgrade your system. Where as the the other OS is free to activate whenever.

The only way to change computers is if you have hardware failure, but people tend to exploit this and lie to MS about hardware failures.

They're both really high quality products, I'd definitely buy from either of them. However, if was required to single one out, I'd probably pick Nvidia.

[QUOTE="SporkFireXPS"]

Did you friend restart the computer or did the computer restart on its own when installing?

pyromaniac223

He powered it down because he thought the CPU was overheating. It didn't restart on its own.

He thought the CPU was overheating? What did he base that off of? If the CPU was overheating, the computer would restart itself.

ok but do we actaully need 8 cores for gaming alone? i wont be doing anything except for gaming on my desktop so is I7 for me?paraskhos_basic
It all depends on if you have the cash to spend on these things, obviously grabbing the i7 makes you more future proof but at 3 times the cost of a QX9650. There is absolutely nothing wrong with saving the money and setting your standards a little lower.

everything is factory clock, and i have the most updated drivers.

Crypt_mx

This leads me to believe it may be a patch issue then. I'd suggest hitting up Crysis Wars' support forum, I'll give you a link: http://www.mycrysis.com/board.php?boardid=252

Hope they're able to help you.

TY Chilidog and SwatlordXXX that was helpful . About SLI does that mean hypothetically I could use both the GTX 260 and HD 4870 at the same time even though one is Nvidia and the other is ATI. And Direct 10x is that something built into Windows Vista or the GPU's themselves ? Sonic_on_crack
While it is possible to have Nvidia and an ATI card on the same board (which would allow you to use a particular card for a particular game.), they will not work in unison under SLI (or ATI's Crossfire for that matter.)

Directx is a product of Microsoft, which is unique to Windows operating systems, they do however work along side the GPUs to enhance video and audio
