Random Thought for today

Lately I find myself sitting at work scrolling through GS and Raptr. I actually have a lot to do at work but my A.D.D. kicks in and my fingers start typing www.gamespot.com. It's crazy. I start reading post, reviews, and blogs of other people knowing I should be working. I get myself all siked up for when I go home. I usually have the evening all planned. Take my son to his football practice, then when we get home, make dinner, take a shower, pour me a drink, then go downstairs and play my Wii. Yesterday I had plans toplay World of Warcraft on my PC. But when got home just the opposite happens. Made dinner, took a shower, then sat on the couch. Next thing I knew it was 2am. Geez...is it the depression that makes me so tired or is it just that I'm getting old? I was all geared up to playing my games just to in turn fall asleep. All last year and up to around July(dreadful July), I was able to stay up till 4 in the morning. And this even includes the weekends. Now...it's a wrap!:x But I still wake up in the middle of the night for about 15 minutes. It's crazy!!!

Princess Peach Toadstool

So if you already guessed, I got a bit of a problem with Princess Peach Toadstool. Well apparently, other's feel the same way as I do.

'She is the Princess of the fictitious Mushroom Kingdom, and often plays the damsel in distress role within the adventure series. In 2007, Princess Peach landed on Forbes magazine's Wealthiest Fictional People list, with a fortune upwards of $1 billion. She is ranked tenth in Electronic Gaming Monthly's list of the top ten video game politicians." GameDaily named her in their Worst Video Game Girlfriends list, citing that her "fatal flaw is her chronic inability to not get kidnapped by Bowser, leading our favorite plumber to, time and again, have to risk his neck in order to save her". The same website had named her one of the worst Mario characters, stating that she "knows her whipped boyfriend will come and save her" and that she was a "total drama queen". GameSpy, in a humorous article, called Princess Peach "the worst woman in gaming" claiming that she is a "woman of immense potential power who refuses to use any of it". The website stated that she was "neither a feminist nor sexy" and criticized aspects of her character, including her wardrobe and her position as a ruler.

I totally agree with all them. How in the world do you get kidnapped every other year for 20+ years? Are you kiddin' me!!!! Your doing it on purpose Princess, You doing it on purpose!!! It's for the money right and girl power right? How else do you make it onForbes list.I get you!

Getting a new toy

Since I've been having such a bad summer and August is still following the same path of July so far, I've decided to make myself feel better by buying the Xbox 360 at the end of the month instead of waiting till Christmas.I want thenew black slim one. YAY!! I'm extra excited. In the mean time, I think I'll download Contra Rebirth from the WiiWare channel tonight. It looks live!!!

Now the count down begins..:D

Hoping August is better than July!!!!

I absolutely am glad that July is over. I think July was the worst month I've had in a long time. August is slowly dragging but I think it will be much better than July. It's pretty safe to say that I was depressed the entire month..well with the exception of the first week. After that everything went down hill. I guess because I'm having a problem letting go of the past. Love is just not in my corner this year I guess. In adesperate attempt to occupy my time and take my mind off the man who may or may not be in life, I've turned to my Wii of course and that little guy named Mario who always has to save his girl Princess Toadstool. She really needs to just sit down somewhere or invest in some kickboxing class or something. I mean it's been over 20 years and the same ugly monster keeps kidnapping her??? Man up Princess!! Mario gettin' old and can only do so much and now you got him looking for you in space?? Anyways once I got another star in Super Mario Galaxy, I decided to move on down to the virtual console. OMG can you say memory lane? I downloaded the games Lifeforce, Super C, F-Zero X, and Ninja Gaiden II. Man I loved these games. I use to play the crap out of them. I wish the original Contra was available though...one of my favorites. So playing my old-school video games, saving the Princess once again(I think she's purposely getting kidnapped by Bowser and they might have something going on romantically), oh and trying desperately to catch a fish in Zelda Twilight Princess while drinking my Pineapple Smirnoff Ice, I'm hoping to occupy my time and kick this love depression. The end of August should be sweet though. I'm taking my sons to Great Wolf lodge for his birthday. I love water parks. I even take one for the team and get my hair wet....lol

So to end summary of how my August may be, I've adopted a quote froma friend of mine that really makes sense:

Everything changes! Can't change that!!

Bored..........

My weekends tend to be a little too boring now. I get up, go walking for 2 hours in the park (which is quite nice), then I come home and clean up. After that I have choice between watching t.v., playing Super Mario Galaxy, surfing the internet, or destroying lives in the Sims 3. I think I need to find a hobby or something.

Mario

Mario's name used to be "Jumpman".

Mario's first appearance in a video game was in 1981's Donkey Kong. We now know of Donkey Kong as a star of his own games, but in the original Donkey Kong game, Donkey Kong was the villain who kidnapped a damsel in distress. Mario, whose name was "Jumpman" back then, had to rescue the damsel by jumping over barrels that Donkey Kong would throw at him.

Back then, not only did Mario have a different name, but a different job as well. "Jumpman" was originally supposed to be a carpenter. Also, Mario's signature cap and mustache were added in because it made him easier to draw. The original Donkey Kong didn't have very good graphics, and it was easier for Mario (Jumpman) to have a hat and a mustache than have hair and a mouth.

What I don't like about Super Mario Galaxy

I hate the 3 rabbits you have to catch before you can figure out where the heck your at.Don't like the dizziness I get because Mario doesn't play on flat land. Sweet concept, and looks great on my on t.v. but its throwing my equilibrium off.
