I don't know if ya'll were paying attention to the news when the PS3 came out. What the hell was wrong with some of those people in line. People were being shoved, shot at, robbed, nearly trampled, and in my state of North Carolina, a young man died after police stormed his house, looking for 2 alleged stolen PS3's.
Ebay is great don't get me wrong, but at the same time it is making it in my opinion, hard for true gamers to get game systems that they save up for fairly.
I mean there are PS3's going on ebay for almost 2 to 6 times the price at the stores. Unfortunately people are stupid or lazy enough to bid on the super priced PS3's
The thing is I personally don't think that the people who were acting crazy, and committing violent acts, were not true gamers. They were greedy S.O.B's who were willing to deprive true gamers of the chance to purchase a game at the price the stores sold the systems.
A true gamers I don't think would try and buy up every system that could get a hold of. I think personally if I had the money I would buy 2 if possible. One for myself and one for one of my best friends.
Most of these people who tried to be sneaky or violent to get the consoles, mainly I think were doing it out of greed. As a gamer I would think other gamers would be conscious of making sure not to deprive other gamers the opportunity to get the new system.
Ebay is great if you want to sell an old system or look for a game you can't find anywhere. But to use it to deprive other gamers of the opportunity to get it at a fair price is sucky and shows how Ebay can corrupt.
