New PS3 harddrive, Bayonetta demo impressions, feeling tired, and more.
by TSNAKE617 on Comments
On Saturday my new PS3 harddrive arrived. A 500GB Western Digital Scorpio Blue Bulk, look it up on Amazon. The worst part was backing it up, it took 10 hours, so I had to wait until Sunday. Swapping the harddrives was extremely easy, there are only five screws, and they came out very easily. I decided to vaccume out some of the dust that was beginning to pile up. After that I only had to format the harddrive (It took about two minutes.) and restore the data (About 2 and a half hours.)
I finished Demon's Souls two weeks ago. It was extremely good, I don't feel like describing it now, just read some reviews, watch some videos, and decide whether or not to try it, but don't expect too much as far as story goes. Now, I'm playing Warhawk and Borderlands.
After upgrading my harddrive I had enough room to download the Bayonetta demo from the Japanese PSN.(TRY IT!) I love the first Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe, and like the third DMC, so I decided that Bayonetta should be pretty good. (I still haven't played DMC4, harddrive space limitations.) The graphics, enemy models, combat, and voice acting were great in Bayonetta. My only problems were the easy mid-bosses.
I reeahed level twenty four recently and plan to make another blong before reaching level 26.
Silent Hill, (Finally) Wrapped up Persona 3.
by TSNAKE617 on Comments
I saw Silent Hill on PSN today and exploded into rainbows. (I've wanted to get into Silent Hill after failing to enjoy Resident Evil, but loving Dead Space.) It's fairly expensive online, and I've heard about a few annoying bugs on the PS3 BC, so it was amazing to see it on PSN. (I'm still waiting for Xenogears and Vagrant Story on the US PSN store.) I quickly formatted my new Memory Stick, dusted off the PSP and started playing. I'm up to the Alternate version of the school, and the atmosphere puts Resident Evil to shame. Hopefully, the story becomes more prevalent, there's only been one story related scene (The beginning.) and I'm almost two hours in. The combat needs work, and I hope Silent Hill 2 speeds the attacks up a little. The graphics are great for a PS1 game.
I finally beat the final boss in Persona 3. It was extremely close, my MC was the last character standing and the final boss had used a move to double his next physical attack. It could use an attack to make itself invincible that it can use as much as it wants. (It uses two abilities per turn and use one to start the ability and one a few turns later to turn it off.) Later in the battle it starts using a move that deals around 300 damage and a random status effect to each character. (Each character has a little over 400 health on my team.) And it can still attack after that. The ending was great and I can't wait to start Persona 4.
Blaster Masters, Fallout 3, and THE Backlog!
by TSNAKE617 on Comments
I just (4 or 5 days ago :P) became a blaster master. Pew, pew!
I picked up Fallout 3 today and decided to just wonder around and I finally decided to pick it up again and try to beat every mission and kill every behemoth. :D My original plan was to play through it three times, with a different build and path each time. Hopefully Bethesda decides to release the DLC for the PS3 before I finish this playthrough.
I must admit that I bought a few SMT games when Atlas reprinted DDS1 and Nocturne. They'll set me back a few months.
Also, there are a few games coming out in October, September, and November that I'll need to buy. (Demon's Souls, Borderlands, and a few others.) I need help. :P
Quick update on backlog.

I've been trying to get into Final Fantasy 3, but I realized that I'm not having fun, the story isn't very interesting, my characters feel a little weak, and the boss fights are rediculous.

Backlogged. Part 1.
by TSNAKE617 on Comments
Today I decided that I need to clear my backlog of games that I didn't finish and some that I didn't even begin.
---List---Persona 4. Gamespot score: 9.0I purchased Persona 4 when I was in the middle of Persona 3:FES and I decided that I wanted to take a break from RPGs for a couple weeks and bought Killzone2.
Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Gamespot score: 9.0
I stopped playing this game for a simple reason. It's extremely hard and I rarely play action games, I'll probably have to use a few walkthroughs to get through it.
Devil May Cry 2. Gamespot score: 6.4
I'm sure that most gamers can guess why I didn't finish this.
Final Fantasy 3. Gamespot score: 7.9
I don't know why I didn't finish this.
Pikmin. Gamespot score: 8.9
It was my first strategy game and I didn't like the time limit that it used, other than that, it was great.
Final Fantasy 12. Gamespot score: 9.0
I couldn't get used to the combat system, it's that simple. I'm sure that if I try again I'll do better.
I'll try to finish these soon and finish some of my other backlogged games.
So, Sony does listen to it's customers, in a way.

I'm just surprised that Final Fantasy 7 is finally being rereleased on the PSN, that was one of the few things that I assumed would have happened by now if they were going to happen, hopefully this means that Sony will rerelease some of its other Playstation RPGs. (FF8, FF9, Crono Cross, etc.)
