So, last weekend I MET AVA, and let me tell you, they are fantastic. Especially the one going by the name of David Kennedy. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
First of all, let me tell you that I was incredibly glad that it wasn't cold. We ended up waiting outside the "Recording Studio" for TWO HOURS! I say "Recording Studio" because we almost missed the place. It literally looked like a beige brick box. If it wasn't for the radio station's car out front, we would have totally missed it! The people waiting with us were nice, and we saw one of them later... but I'm again getting ahead of myself.
Now, after waiting for FOREVER for AVA to get there, when we finally got in, we were treated with the opportunity of a lifetime. AVA are possibly the funniest guys out there. I took tons of pictures, and if I wasn't a freak, I would show ya all some of them... maybe I'll have them here eventually. But anyways, I figure the best way to go about this is to describe each of them.
Starting with TOM DELONGE! All I can say is HILLARIOUS!! He was constantly cracking jokes and being really relaxed. Considering that it was very early for them (1:30 PM), they were really nice about it. His starbucks coffee, and after every song, and each little joke or answer to a question, he would take a sip. I kept trying to get a shot of him actually drinking the coffee, but I kept missing. Still bummed about that... and not requesting "Lifeline." And after signing autographs, he doodled on the photo that they give you, giving all the band members ridiculous hats and stuff. Wish I got a picture of that too... oh, well. Very funny man.
Next, we will go to Guitar Player Matt Watcher. He wasn't all that crazy... pretty laid back and fairly shy if you ask me. Nice, though. Especially with my chest crushed into his during the photo. He was cool, though.
Moving on, we have Atom Willard. He was absolutely adorable. He was a kind-of small guy, but very cute. Atom was nice enoough to sign both of my CDs. We will love him for all of eternity. I kept trying to get a shot of him when he was playing, and I must have tried like 20 times. Every time, he would be looking down or the stupid mike would get majorly in the way. It took me some time, but I did get a couple good pictures of him playing. And by a couple I mean two. AND WE HAD THE SAME CAMERA!! HOW COOL!
Finally, we have the most gorgeous man alive... David Kennedy!! I will definitely share with the world a picture of this man. Now, I am about 5'5". I had on 3.5" heels. The man was still a foot taller than me... AT LEAST!! That may lend him some major points on the already high value he had on the GORGEOUS scale. He was possibly the only reason I would want to live... and he's single. We spent five minutes talking about their love lives... specifically how he couldn't keep a girlfriend. Which is more than fine by me. He was a great guy, and I loved every second of it and ideally, he will stay that way. He also had a very nice jacket. I didn't smell him though, so I have no words to tell you on that (it's an obsession I can't explain). AND HIS PANTS FIT!!! (another obsession I can't explain. another one is hair... David had great hair too). But that's not even the best part of this man that makes me one of those ridiculous fans that wants to marry them. You see, before he knew my age, HE WAS HITTING ON ME!! Right before I came up to him to ask for his photo, he asked me "How old are you?" And this was not in the "you are sooo young" tone of voice. No, this was in the "Are you legal?" kind of voice. This was slightly unnerving, and for the rest of my life I will never understand why I told the truth. When we took a picture of him, my friend, and myself, I CLOSED MY EYES!!!! Can you believe it?! But it was quickly remedied. When we took a picture of him, Matt, and myself, he was totally pressing against me and squishing me into oblivion. My back was to him, so he didn't knotice my chest being squished. Needless to say, it is now my background for what will probably be forever. And the great picture I got of him at the concert. He had a great jacket too, and if I knew him just a little bit more, I would have pretended to steal, and/or borrow. It was great.
Yes, I am now a squealing girl that gets excited by the mere mention of David Kennedy. Just writing this makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
The concert itself was really great. We sat in the balcony, which was a bummer, but it was still great. Tom is such a performer. You should really try to see one of their concerts. It's something you just can't explain. Soooo great. And David was gorgeous too. It was too bad I was sitting at the opposite end of the theatre. Toward the end of the concert my camera started to die, so I took like 10 pictures of him in a row (snapsnapsnapsnapsnap...) before turning it off. That's where I got the amazing photo of him.
It was absolutely the most amazing thing I have ever done or seen in my entire life!!!
