I hope you mean gold as in the final build of the game has been put to a "gold" disc and is ready for production.

lol programming, modeling etc takes a long.................. time to learn. like really long time to learn it that intricately. inyourface_12

Yeah no kidding, plus even if you're proficient in all the aspects of game design, it'll take a long time to finish just a portion of your game. You need a team of people.

Well currently the current technical marvels (in terms of what graphical features they use) are SMG, MP3C, and Dewy's Adventure. DA has been confirmed to be making liberal use of normal mapping, which is about damn time. SMG and MP3C, while currently we don't know what graphical techniques are employed for sure, we can speculate that SMG is definetly using some kind of shader mapping, environmental bump mapping for sure and maybe probably normal maps, judging from many of those large enemies seen in screen shots. As far as MP3 goes, I would expect the team at Retro to be using the TEVs to their full advantage even though they didn't with the previous two Metroid games on the GC. While I'm decidedly dissapointed by the lack of alot of dynamic lighting and shadows as seen in screenshots and gameplay footage, other screen shots have shown what looks to be a good amount of possibly bump maps and normal maps used on enemies and maybe the surroundings themselves. Maybe the desire to maintain such a high framerate was the reason behind the exclusion of these graphics techniques, or maybe they were added in very late in the developement cycle (I can only hope!). Because frankly, Metroid Prime 3 with Doom 3 like shadows and lighting would not only add to the freaky nature of Metroid in unto itself, but it would be really cool and add to the mood, and even John Carmack said the Doom 3 engine could've been at home on the GC although RAM was a big issue preventing that.

Probably the third best looking Wii game so far. I'm surprised Konami was the developer to do this though.nintendofreak_2

And the other two are MP3 and SMG I suppose? My only problem with considering those two is that the technology used in them really hasn't been mentioned, yet we have tech confirmations with DA.

the ps2 had worse graphics the the xbox yet still sold 80 million consoles more, so graphics arent holding it back, plus how can you say future titles arent promising, mp3 ssbb mg mario kart plus bw2 and call of duty w/ 32 multiplayer, thats 6 titles in 6 months all wich i want to buywii4me

But the level of difference in graphics wasn't as large as the gap is for the Wii vs. the 360 or PS3.

I like both for their own strengths as compared to eachother.
