what makes the jrpg gener special in that it HAS to be innovative in its combat system? i mean fps's have been the exact same in their combat for a long long long time(you press a button to shoot) why makes the jrpg gener special that every game HAS to be non-traditional

for instance in the jrpg a game thats different is eternal sonata like you said, in the fps gener has a game like bioshock with its rpg/fps elements would be considered innovative as well, however, medal of honor, cod4, halo 3 at the core they are basically all the same combat wise and are comparable to lost odyssey and blue dragon in that regard dont you agree?

the thing that makes those games different is the story, background, enviorment etc... which is how blue dragon is different than lost odyssey

heck tell me whats so innovative in the combat system of army of two, merc2, blacksite, etc.....?

i would also like to point out that Nintendo dint either(besides wii fit and mario kart) so sony was the only one who wanted to be different at E3..

i interpret a 5/5 system this way 5/5 is perfect 4/5 is great, 3/5 is passable, 2/5 is ok-bad, 1/5-sucks

there is no way they can implement the changes, test it, make sure its working 100% and ship the game, i mean it seems like a pretty significant overhaul of the controls if it was September 24 maybe but the game comes out like the 4th they have to beamazing to get all that work done that fast.

the leaderboards and medals seem reasonable and minor so they can get them done on time.

please...i love how he doesn't really give a reason for the them not showing the ps3 version of GTA4 at all if it was their best looking and running so smoothly why haven't we seen it?

anyway the best reason i have read is that rockstar is just not used to multiplat development and couldn't deliver on the product even the greatest developers can come up short.
