I noticed that most people around here are very quick to judge videogames, usually waaayy before they're even released. Sure, gameplay videos are great and all, but it won't give you the same feeling of you actually holding the controller in your hands and pressing buttons.
Really, I just try to hold back, but its strange that I'm condemning this point of view, but I'm also quick to judge, but the thing is, usually I'm right. No, I'm not bragging or anything, but lets just take...Metroid Prime 3, for example. Great game, right? Gameplay videos looked amazing, but when you actually played the game (after waiting for so long), it just didn't live up to what it was supposed to be. I'm not saying its a bad game, no way. It IS amazing. Its just that hype for games is like quicksand. Some games you can tell ARE going to be good, like MSG 4 or COD4. I'm getting pretty skeptical of all the hype these days.
Another example; Rondo of Swords. Made by Atlus, so you'd expect it to be good. But I knew. I knew. I had already fallen for that trick. I bought Luminous Arc. But yet people still couldn't stop thinking about it. There was never talk about Soma Bringer or ASH, Good quality titles. Maybe I'm being to self-righteous, but I just feel like helping at least one person. All this talk about games coming out in the future, listening to all thats here is like putting a veil over your eyes.
I know this is going to sound weird, but read the reviews before you buy something. I say this sounds strange because , after gamespots whole Kane and Lynch Fiasco, you wouldn't think to trust here. So what I mean is, go to the player reviews; they're your best friend. I used to be an impulse buyer, fell for publishers and franchises slapped on to make games look pretty ( Mana series, I'm looking at you)
Good to get that all out
