What are your specs on your laptop? Not saying your laptop is garbage (there are some laptops that game great) but If you want to do any hardcore/modern gaming and have maximum flexibility when upgrading, PC gaming is all about desktops.
I too have a ps3 and i barley touch it, but i still keep it for the exclusives.
And please dont sell it, you will regret it too when an intresting exclusive will come out.
I dont understand people who buy and sell.... you already bought it so whats the big deal to keep it? you will regret it later if you will sell your ps3, just have both.

The only reason I sold my PS3 was because I never touched it. I think I went a good year without turning it on. All it was doing was collecting dust so that's why I decided to sell it. Plus I used all the money for PC parts so it worked out. If it was sitting there for so long why watch it sit when I can easily sell it for cash and use on something I will get use out of?
Start saving. I have been through every console that is out and I'm so glad I decided to try out pc gaming. Sold my PS3 for a new cpu, more ram, and gpu. Best decision ever. I will never go back to console..
