hommytoffman has a fair point, which I mentioned earlier...But perhaps there's something to be said for getting "fun" out of songs you really enjoy rather than just sheer challenge. That does kind of goes against what I said earlier to an extent, but thinking about it; I bought The Pixies "Doolittle" (love that band) and while their material is technically "easy" the songs are still entertaining to play, but that's more down to me knowing them inside-out. Obviously this would only work with *real* fans of any said band. The question is: Is there a market for Rock Band playing Beatles fans to make a full retail product financially worthwhile for the developers? I wouldn't have thought so personally, but I can only imagine Harmonix have done some market research to find out...

As far as I know Brumley, Michael Jackson sold off the rights when his debt problems began (I will say no more about that) so that may not be the case anymore. Don't know if he sold all of them or just the songs he felt he couldn't cover while throwing a few "shamone"s, "ooowww"s and "eeee-heeee"s in there! :P As to who owns the rights now, I have no idea! Maybe he sold them back to Apple?

I must admit, I'm wary of how the majority of the Beatles work would translate into a fun (and by that I mean challenging) game experience. They weren't a band that really dabbled in guitar wankery (solos) and someone repetitive drumming so large amounts of their catalogue would consist of a few repeating chords. I can't see myself getting a great deal of joy from that. A Keytar would be a hoot though. As one of the editors mentioned, the vocals are another matter but I can't see a huge audience getting on board with this *just* to warble to Hard Days Night etc etc. Maybe my fears will be unfounded - Harmonix generally have a knack of impressing me with whatever they do.

I'd much prefer a similar stand alone game for The Smiths personally, but ho-hum.

The 360 has some really quite excellent games in its library, if the Japanese want to overlook them, well...that's their loss! Kudos to Microsoft for trying, at least!

Although the GTA games have never really been my cup of tea, it certainly set the trend for all the open-ended city crawlers that followed. Though for me personally, I think (and probably always will) that Vice City was the superior game, I much preferred the cheesy 80's style, it was something I really related to with it being the decade I grew up in. But when all is said and done, Rockstar must be applauded for creating this game. Huzzah for them!

kvnmitnick "PS3 is a good investment, it's worth buying right now, and it's at a good price considering what's inside it." How anyone can suggest that *anything* driven by technology is an investment absolutely beggars belief. Do you even know the meaning of the word? The value of products like these just gets lower and lower. If you called it an entertainment investment that would be another matter entirely, but none the less, that's stil up for debate.

MK24ever "- The DS is full of ports Super mario brothers, mario kart, metroid, castlevania, final fantasy." Good god, someone so unlearned should have their appropriate level to post comments redeemed. It's infuriating just how totally uneducated you would appear to be on the subject from that comment. There's a VAST difference between a port and a sequel. Surely you know this??? The only port on the DS so far has been Super Mario 64 DS, everything else (including the titles mentionned) are entirely new products, sure they use the popular franchises, but then so does everybody else. What's important is that it's not the same game that you'd already played a few years beforehand. How someone can be so hypocritical to say that the DS is full of ports and then go on to say the PSP is somehow different (when in actual fact, that couldn't be any further from the truth) is completely mindblowing. And also, while I'm here... I really can't stand all this elitist bickering about "you're not a real gamer if you don't like/buy Sony" It's nothing more than absolute codswallop. If anything, a "real gamer" would know when they're being duped with an over-priced, under-delivering machine. What can I say....? A "real gamer" should have more sense.

queenster08 "This article seems to have NO POINTS what-so-ever, than to BASH the PS3. I take this worth a grain of salt and as a reason that I don't come to Gamespot any more. I am glad I chose today to stop by though so I know to stay away in the future." Oh don't be so melodramatic! They're merely acting as a voicebox for public opinion. In spite of what you think about the PS3, there's a LOT of people that are against it right now. Following popular opnion is what commercial journalism is all about. Why try and delude their users into thinking that the PS3, its launch, and its current standing is hunky dory when it quite clearly isn't? It's not as though the points that the editors are making are moot. Far from it, Sony have made a terrible mess of their launch and I much as I've disliked their arrogant claims in the past, I would like to see them turn it round for the good of the gaming industry as a whole. Their rivals won't be required to improve their services if they dont have any competition to push them. Aaron Thomas summed it up perfectly: "When I tell people that I own a PS3, they usually give me a weird look and ask "Why?" If you give me some good news, I may no longer have to shrug and answer, "I don't know.""
