Hey all,

I got my Wii at launch and for the most parts I'm totally happy with it, I do however have massive issues with all the Virtual Console content.

So far I've bought Super Castlevania (snes), Super Mario Bros (nes), Legend of Zelda (nes), Simcity (snes), R-Type and Bomberman (both turbogrfx) and to begin with everything was fine and dandy. I was playing them on a SDTV 28". Happy memories galore.

Just after christmas my TV broke. God knows what went wrong with it, it just wouldn't so much as switch on anymore. It was around this time a friend of mine decided he wanted to sell his 32" HDTV because he wanted to get a 48" instead. He did me a favour and offered me a very cheap price on it. I jumped at the chance.

Since getting it, I've spent most of my time on my 360 and PC through the TV since there hasn't been a whole lot of particularly compelling software being released for the Wii. Anyway, to cut a long story short, the other day I decided to boot up my Wii and have a quick blast at some of the virtual console games I bought all those months ago. For some reason now, they're completely unplayable. The frame rate is now so abysmally low that it has become very very difficult to be able to do anything on them.

So to my questions: Does anyone else suffer from these problems? Does anyone know what the problem is and how I could go about solving it? Is it a known problem with HDTVs? I've tried searching around on google and such and haven't had much luck trying to find any information relating to my particular problem.

Any help would be much appreciated.
