I'm on here so little now that I doubt anyone cares, but:

I've been a gamer since I was young. Granted, I was terrible at it until I was, like, 14, but that's irrelevant. When I was younger, I'd spend days playing games I was either terrible at or too scared to really delve into. The first games I remember playing in-depth were Spyro the Dragon (which I really just watched my father play), and Crash Team Racing (which we played together). However, lately, I haven't been as into it as I used to be.

From the PS1, which was my first game system, I can clearly remember playing the first three Spyro games, CTR, the Army Men: Sarge's Heroes games, NASCAR Rumble and, er, Sled Storm. I'd play these for ages at a time, but I can only really replay a few of them now. CTR and the first two Spyro games have aged well, but the rest haven't aged well, at all. This is surprising in the case of Spyro 3, as it's constantly called "THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST THE BEST". The unplayable not-Spyro characters are unplayable and useless and unplayable and did I mention unplayable?

The PS2 and GameCube came along, and I got addicted to loads and loads of games, like Kingdom Hearts, Grand Theft Auto, Paper Mario, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter, Sly Cooper, Super Mario Sunshine, Soul Calibur, Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Tony Hawk's Pro Make-a-really-bad-peripheral-after-acquiring-a-dedicated-fanbase-and-ruin-all-of-your-series'-profits, Resident Evil 4, SSX, NBA Street and I won't bore you further; you get the idea. I'd play these games over and over and never get tired of it. I can still play most of these games, provided the sequel didn't add so much stuff as to make the previous edition unplayable.

Then the 360 came along, and everything was bigger and better. The only game on 360 I really couldn't put down was Oblivion. I mean, there are some amazing games for 360, like Red Dead Redemption, Mass Effect, Fallout 3, Crackdown, The Saboteur, etc. The only games after that that I played for more than the time it takes to beat them and maybe clean up a few achievements were the Rock Band games, GTA IV and Fable III. The Rock Band games have new songs every week (and songs I like at least once a month), so I guess that makes sense.

GTA IV was amazing on the first playthrough, and online was fun for months. But, as I've stated previously (two blogs ago), trying to play through again is torture.

But Fable III, hmm. I played the original, and it was good; nothing special. The second was great, and I beat it and all the DLC, but never made it very far in subsequent playthroughs. But the third is the best game I've played in ages, apparently. I've already completed two playthroughs, and I've only had it for a month. I would assume it's because my friend and I were having an achievement race, and I let pride get the better of me, so I had to play through again to get Tough Love, Coronation Chicken and You Can't Bring Me Down. I'm winning, currently (it's 920 to 910), and we're gonna get Xbox Live Gold to try to get the full 1,000.

Fable III was also the first game in ages (can't remember how long) to actually make me cry. Twice. On both playthroughs. DAMMIT WALTER I TOLD YOU GOING THROUGH THAT CAVE WAS A BAD IDEA
