I had the same problem, I watch TV shows but on DVD (not the crap they put on these days). But you gotta have hd, so heres the best solution IMO. PC Monitors do hd, so I bought 360 vga cable : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xbox-360-VGA-AV-Cable/dp/B000AYYADE/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/026-7526292-7081259?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1183497721&sr=8-1 and a vga switch box in case you don't have a spare monitor and need your pc on it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Port-Way-VGA-Monitor-Switch/dp/B000J249JC/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/026-7526292-7081259?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1183497750&sr=8-1 As long as you don't mind maybe not being able to sit on your couch whilst gaming, its the perfect solution for like £25.Bromz
I do have a 22" LCD monitor that I use for my PC gaming, and I wouldn't mind using it for the 360, but the price for a cable alone is a little steep for me ($40). I'm not sure whether I want to spend that much on a piece of wiring.
Well, you guys ultimately convinced me. I just ordered a 360, 1 year live subscription, Gears of War, and 1600 points card (want to get a certain live arcade game).
With the 360 out for awhile now, and with a slew of quality titles for the system, I've once again began contemplating as to whether or not I should purchase one. My main concern since the 360's release was its apparent reliance on a HDTV for quality graphics. I personally have no plans to purchase an HDTV in the near future, because I simply don't watch enough TV to warrant it.
So my question for those who have owned 360s both with HDTVs and without is, would you say that an HDTV is needed to fully enjoy the360? Or would I be able to get away with standard definition for the time being?
