Like I said the PS4 has a faster RAM and faster Graphics card, the One has a faster CPU.
The CPU is the limiting factor in this case because AI is calculated on the CPU, in conclusion if any console would benifit from it, it would be the Xbox One.
I take my information from many websited who compared the stats, just google "ps4 xbox one hardware comparison" and see what it says about the CPU.
Why do people don't get that it's the Xbox One being held back this time around? Are fanboys clearly that blind? While the PS4 Version has a fester RAM and GPU, the One boast a faster CPU and has the option to do cloud processing parts of the AI.
The Ubisoft official stated that CPU power to process the AI is holding them back.
What is there not to understand?
Well idc, 1080p with better AA and textures on PC all the way.
There have been heaps of 3DS Emulators out for a long time and they can run most games (which you legally own ofc, looking at you pirates ;) ) just fine.
It does not matter what you expected or think what score that game deseveres, that's entirely your opinion that is fixated on numbers.
You obviously like the game and so does Kevin, that's why he gave it a 9. There is no need to attack him for a score that just says "the game is great" when that's what the game is.
As in DS1, you have to seek for story clues yourself, and while it might be not as good as the DS1 Story, it's still intruiging to find out what is going on with the bosses and so on
Btw. The Lost Sinner is not a particulary hard boss and definitely not the hardest
Oh on a sidenote, I did find out that they "redid" the music, meaning all music is midi files now. Fans are not pleased as it is supposed to sound worse than the original and are asking for the original psx music. Square fixed that issue in FFVII and probably will in FFVIII but I am asking myself now. Why did they "redo" the music which afterwards sounds worse then before and then switch it back to the original files? And even after the negative feedback on FFVII they still did not change it in this version? Seems like they have a person working on this once a year for an hour or so.
Hey I will write a little warning for everyone thinking about picking this game up:
First of all for all of you who did not play FFVIII, it should be obvious but the Graphics in this Video are NOT INGAME! They are (beautifully) prerendered cutscenes that appear in the game. As you can see there is a bot around the Video. And it probably is just there so that it's less obvious that they did not scale up the Videos. So all the cutscenes will be in (not 100% sure but it should be since videos on GS are 720p) 640 * 480 and then upscaled to your monitor resolution! (if not shown in a box like in the video).
Now what did they do to enhance the graphics and the game itself?
- They upscaled all(not even sure if all or just characters and some other stuff) 3D models from the game. They did not remake the background. That gets obvious when you see the screenshots on Steam. The characters stick out more than in the original game. So it gets more obvious that they are just "put on top" of the 2D background.
- not anything else as far as I know. They might have included more resulutions (which are mostly availible via fan patches in the original game). But these obviously don't enhance graphics but just upscale the game so it fit's to your screen (from what I can see in the steam screenshots, still displaying the game in a letterbox because they did not made the game widescreen capable, and if they did it stretches the game!)
"New" features (according to steam):
- A "magic booster" that you can access from the launcher, that gives you 100 of most (excluding the strongest) spells in the game - so to call it by it's real name a cheat trainer!
- You can access "Chocobo world" (a minigame which came with the original FF VIII) from the game menu.
What do they charge you for this 14 year old game? 12$ in the US, 13€ (=18$!!!) in Germany and 10Pound (=15$) in the UK. All of these Prices are a rippoff, especially in germany (and probably most of europe)!
The so called "enhancements" they did should only take a workday for a fairly capable person. And most compability issues for the new windows plattforms were already fixed by community patches! I don't know if they even used any of these but even programming that should not be a big issue!
I think that alone is an insult to all the fans wanting to play this amazing game!
So what could they possibly do to piss of more fans? Did someone say online requirement?
YES they did not even have the shame and included online verification. So you have to log in with a square Enix account or Facebook to play the game! Online!
Pleasy do everyone a favor and don't support this rippoff! Show the developers that us gamers are no Idiots and don't support them ripping off long time fans of a great series. If that is what Square became I will never buy a game from them again!
Regards to all the Fans, I'm gonna play the original on 4 CD's with community patches!
It's not just about adding additional difficulty levels because adding those could easily compromise the core game! What makes this game appealing is challenge and learning from misstakes. And being in a hostile world with traps and enemys which can all kill you, so lowering the difficulty could easily take all that gameplay elements away and make this game not worthwhile.
It is really appealing to learn the attack patterns and find out how to fight certain enemy types. You can not just lower the difficulty on that!
It would also be hard to ballance several difficulties with the multiplayer features of the Dark Souls games.
What they need to do is to better inform the player of what's going on. Because some can't be bothered to read the wiki a lot (understanding the gameplay actually makes the game easier because it opens more opportunities for the player! For example, I did not understand the upgrade system of the game and did not know that the starting weapons in the game can still be viable till lategame! I also did not know that I could summon help and how to do it! Thus I struggled on many occasions). But the developers are working on that - so Dark Souls 2 might be more accessible to new players than the first.
Ballancing the gameplay of Dark Souls must be a difficult task for the developers and adding more difficulty levels would easily compromise the gameplay!
So I am really happy that they will stick to the core gameplay and just want to steamline it a bit more. Is the perfect direction to go with the game!
