I am trying to install Age of Empires 1 or 2 on my 64-bit vista. When the installation process gets to "updating system files" the installation freezes. This happens for both AOE 1 and 2. If you know whats up, I'd greatly appreciate a solution. Had this problem for a while and would like to finally play these awesome games on a regular basis on my on computer.
P.S. If this belongs in another forum, please don't be a jerk and flag it. I would like to solve this problem.

I sure hope someone can help me with my problem, cause i've been living with it for a while. Maybe this doesn't belong in the PC hardware forums, and maybe it does, but i'll ask anyways. I've been using my 40 inch Bravia TV as a moniter for my laptop. Whenever I set the resolution for the screen to anything above 800x600, I start losing some of my picture. The picture starts going beyond the borders of the screen so that I'm not getting the entire picture. When I set it to 800x600, the picture stays in the screen, but everything barely fits, and I have a 1 1/4 inch border on the sides and a 3/4 inch border on the top and bottom. It isn't a problem with my pc, because I have limited access to another tv that my computer fits into at any resolution. My roommate has a laptop that he plugged into the tv and he had the same results. If someone knows what is wrong with my tv, please help. Thanks.

Today I messed around with my 360. Externally of course because it has the red ring of death. I was looking online at xbox.com for a possible fix for it. When nothing there helped, I started doing random things to it, seeing if I could get it working. Not too much later I got my xbox to work. temporarily of course, but I did the same thing to it again and it a while later and it started working again. Here's what I did:

I plugged only the power cord to it and turned it on. The red rings were flashing. I unplugged the wire that goes into the wall from the power box thing and plugged it back in right away, then turned the power on. And to my surprise it didn't flash red. I've done this 3 times today. I believe I've attempted it 5 times today, and one of those times the HDMI was plugged in. The other time I only hit the power button once. It seems like I only hit it once the first time it worked, but 2 times I hit it twice and both times it worked.

If anyone knows of this method, and it is proven fatal somehow for my xbox, please warn me. Otherwise it works.
