I also agree that the PC version is much better than the 360, in many ways. However, it takes a decent system to run properly. Low-end systems will have some trouble rendering all the stuff needed (which means more than just 5 minutes of lag).

However, being able to turn and chainsaw someone faster than a 360 player can amuses me. Very much. :D

Cross-platform play would be so awesome. Then those pro 360 players would have a fair match... or more. I wasn't able to check for cross-platform, can someone confirm that for me?

You could try some other free MMOs:

www.acclaim.com

www.aeriagames.com

Those are a few companies which have entirely MMO lineups. For me, personally, I prefer 2Moons from Acclaim, though it is a bit mature, and that they have enforced a new rule that anyone outside of North America cannot register an account.

  1. Deus Ex
  2. Max Payne 1&2
  3. Beyond Good & Evil
  4. PoP
  5. Indigo Prophecy
  6. DoW
  7. System Shock 2

I agree that all of those games have exceptional storylines. Deus Ex was one of my most favorite games of all time. It is relatively old game, but it is an almost perfect blend of sci-fi and role-playing elemets, all entwined in a good story.

I recently got the crysis demo.

And I loaded it up. My entire rig should be able to play this game in full quality no problem, but it has the enviroments set on medium and wierd lil lines across my screen every now and then.

I am using Windows XP home, is there anyway that could be the problem?

In terms of operating system, Vista could have a problem. As for the line problems, I've had it a few times myself. It usually means that your RAM is being fully used and has no more room for functionality. Either you cool your computer down by turning it off for a bit, or get some more RAM to compensate for it.

Yeah, I find the WASD setup to be more preferable.

True story for me. :)

HL2:

I walked up to my house door and stare at it, expecting it to open by itself without the aid of a hand. Then I panicked when the door opened and fell into a nervous breakdown when I realized I didn't have a keyboard with a E key on it. Then I found the things called "keys" in my pockets.

DoW - Fast-paced bloody action.

CoW - Methodical and brain-using battle of superior tactics.

Technically, it is all based on your preferences.

I myself don't have any subscriptions, but I'd say FilePlanet, because they're the ones that seem to have all the betas, scoops, demos, and just about everything needed for an online PC gamer.

Especially the betas, they ALWAYS get the betas.

With company of heroes... there are just a handful of structures and units, but there are so many variables, micromanagement, flanking, building barbed-wire and sandbags etc. that the game is really complicated. whew! lighting fast!the_hitman_guy

It is quite technical, and puts you on the edge of your seat a lot, but nothing pays off more than watching a perfectly executed flanking tactic... :)
