The Didact's 2012 Awards Part 1: Special Achievements (Continued)

Best Opening: Borderlands 2

Borderlands 2's kickass opening train derailing, skag splattering, midgit head butting, enemy slaughtering sequence was awesome. Oh and the song that played was also awesome. 343 also did a great job with Halo 4's opening CGI Cutscene. It was very well made but it actually wasn't representative of the game like Borderlands 2's opening.

Runner Up: Halo 4

Best Ending: The Walking Dead

In a year full of horrible and dissapointing endings, Telltale brings us a masterpiece that has made the entirity of System Wars cry. Enough said. Journey's ending was also very meaningful but it just couldn't match the emotional impact of The Walking Dead's.

Runner Up: Journey

Best New Hero: Lee Everrett (The Walking Dead)

Lee is the epitome of a tragic hero. The entire world has gone to Hell and he is given the task of protecting the very life of a little girl, Clementine. Lee has a pretty interesting history that I don't want to spoil and he is one of the reasons The Walking Dead has one of the best stories in the industry. I can't even think of another new hero from last year that comes close to him.

Biggest Suprise: The Walking Dead

Let's analyse this. It's a point and click adventure game based on a Comic/TV Franchise about zombies. It sets itself up for failure yet it turns out to be one of the best games this year. Journey was also a nice suprise

The Didact's 2012 Awards Part 1: Special Achievement

THE DIDACT'S 2012 AWARDS PART 1-1: SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS

A lot has happened in 2012, both good and bad. One of the better things for you guys was me joining you all :D but since Gamespot fvcked up their awards, it's time for me to take matters into my own massive six fingered Forerunner hands. Without further ado, here are my picks for Special Achievement winners.

BEST VILLAIN: VAAS (FAR CRY 3)

Ever since I first saw Vaas in the Far Cry 3 reveal demo, I knew he would be something great. Micheal Mando did an incredible performance as him. It's just too bad that the story falls apart once Vaas is out of the picture. Handsome Jack was also a standout villain this year with his own unique brand of humor.

Runner Up: Handsome Jack (Borderlands 2)

Best New Weapon: All Tediore Weapons (Borderlands 2)

Randy Pitchford described these as the Walmart of Weapons Manufacturing. These guns are cheap plastic that, instead of reloading, you throw it and it explodes while a new one teleports into your hands. That's fvcking brilliant, along with all other weapons in Borderlands 2. In an efforttot include another game, the Railgun in Halo 4 is also fun to use.

Runner Up: Railgun

Most Epic Boss Battle: Teramorphous The Invincible (Borderlands 2)

Fvck this thing. Seriously. I can't even count any other boss battles from last year since all except the ones in Borderlands 2 were sh!t.

New Epic Rap Battles of History

The greatest channel on YouTube has returned. This time Frank Sinatra takes on Freddie Mercury. Check out a few more such as Master Chief vs Leonidas and Mario Bros vs Wright Bros.

So...I was Right

It looks like I predicted the RE6 score completely right with a 4.5. Let's see what else comes true in the coming months.

My Experience With The RE6 Demo

Pros: Co-op in the demo, Demos for 3 different campaigns

Cons: Camera sucks, Regenerating Health, Feals too much like Gears

Overall, if you are looking for something to play with a friend, the RE6 demo has coop and is free. The mainproblem I had was the camermangle. It's way too close. Regenerating health also kills the survival feel. The game feels like COD or Gears. There are so many explosions in the Chris Demo it's rediculous. I'd again recommend the demo to those who want to play coop but I'd wait and see how the revies are for this game.
